You could have a Hernia, as hernia's in that area are 1 of the more common kind of hernia's you can get, where the lower stomach muscle lineing tair's and drops through around there. get 1 of your friends to hold onto your penis while you cough I think thats how doctors do a hernia check

Maybe Mr Hyperthetical could sell 1 once off life time license lol
-
did this really happen? And if it did/does and the tree hit the person during freefall is that considered a tree strike ?
-
Hyperthetical. I'm at that weird time of night where I'm half a sleep and think up weird questions/situations. Some d00d says: "I have to much cash, I'm going to build an object for people to jump from, but it needs to be profitable, it's going to cost me $500k for every 500 feet, with a max height of 3000ft. it's going to be built where ever the most jumpers are etc Every F*$#er (this d00d always uses wild language) is going to have to pay every time they jump from it." Now this object is open to everyone and is not regulated, it has a turnstyle at the bottom and its impossible to get through without putting ya money into the slot. The object is "as is", there is no insurance and its right near your house, you also happen to live in the most BASE populated area on the planet. This tower has a 100 foot over hang and no guy wires, and a massive landing area and is open 24/7 and has zero winds. Questions. 1. would you be willing to pay to jump? 2. how much would you pay to jump? 3. how tall would it need to be to get maximum customers? (remembering taller it is, the more people would have to pay, unless of cos it got more customers so got more revenue faster) 4. with current base population how long would it take for the owner get a $1 return on investment? (the object has no on going costs and runs its self and nothing breaks on it) Anyway, I look forward to different responses

Rob Fry did a very cool front flip on a push bike off a cliff in oz, there is a few of his jumps on the ABA dvd's Cool thing about the front flip was how the bike was still in front of him, so ya can see his hand reach out grab the bike and try and throw it away, the bike got tangled in the chute so landed right next to him, I always laugh when I see the wheel on the bike lol.

also what if any body armour did you have on ? not brands, just types as I don't know brands or anything.
-
fark!!!, that looked close. what bones were broken ? was it a dislocated shoulder or broken shoulder ? and was it a leg fracture and foot or what ? very nice looking country. nice big cliff to, how high was the cliff ? looks like it would be a slider up cliff in australia lol. good to see your ok,
-
Grrrrrr Can someone just atleast tell me what country it was in.
-
cliff hanger by the way where were the base jumps in that movie made ?
-
Rob Fry landed on top of a pub balcony thingo, so most likely since he was entering an aussie pub through a second story window after doing a tripple summersault then having his chute hook onto a lamp post and flip him up onto the roof instead of the road then rock in through the pubs window and being australia he would have most likely got some free beers

was this wire strike under canopy or free falling ?

Sky diving games are for chumps you will need to have the game so ya travel the world but need a problem that you need to over come to get to the next place, I say drugs and guns, ya sell drugs and guns to get ya plane ticket and new gear etc. that way you can say sell some drugs to some big crime gang, then once they pay, gun them down and get ya drugs back, then ya pretty much always on the run through out the game, on the run from the gang and the cops, so ya simply move on to the next country/location using the cash ya made. the guns and drugs part are so the game is controversial like GTA, part of its success is due to its controversy, when it comes to game the old saying applys that "there is no such thing as bad publicity" if the game gets banned, more people want to buy it etc.
-
I think for the game to be successfull ya would need to be a drug runner or something. ya go around the world delivering ya goods and just hide in the BASE crowd, and there could be lots of ilegal jumps and shit where ya gotta get to the top of a building without getting caught. or it could be if ya don't get caught you get to hang out with a new more advanced crowd, so that way there is levels and stuff to pass in the game. so to go to get a position on a trip to some other country / location ya need to do some particular jump and not get caught our broken lol would actually be an exciteing game, tracking from the mountain in GTA was fun, but it needed arials and stuff
-
A base game would be cool and there is no reason why it can't be just as successfull as tony hawks game I have played the skateboarding game and I'm not a skateboarder. most people who play violent games aren't murderers The game just needs a company with enough vision to create it. would be cool if the physics were correct, so fall rates increased at the correct rate etc. would be cool to see how many back flips ya can really do off the twin falls bridge. 6.5 ?? if ya playing as dwain maybe. or 6 if ya hit the deploy pilot chute button at the right moment.

13 foot, when I was a kid I jumped off my mates roof into his pool at the time this was the 2nd highest object in Australia

Awesome WIki's rock current wiki success is the beginning of the end for Media companies, news papers (including online newspapers) will eventually be destroyed by wiki based news instead of having some reporter make up a story from "hear say" of some event, the actual people involved can get online and edit the news etc wikipedia.org also has a news site, might be wikimedia.org or wikinews.org anyway its only just a baby, but over time will destroy news papers that are trying to make it into internet giants (which will never happen) long live wiki's and good to see Jaap back, I used to enjoy your posts

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2534012486622773385&q=%22BASE+jump%22 was just checking out google video now that all vids are in the flash video format, so all ya need in the browser plugin to view vids now anyway that jump is pretty darn good camera footage

so how many floors up would this elevator need to go before you (everyones personal oppinion) no longer class it as a base jump ?

From an outsiders pospective I think Glens comments were in the best interest of the sport as far as public image is concerned what was he meant to say? "yeah he jumped and got caught, he simply should have ran away faster" ???? he was more or less saying "hey don't bag us all out because of 1 persons actions" even if they all jump ilegally, its best to make out not everyone does, as far as the sports public image is concerned, other wise it makes it easier for politicians to justify putting up more anti base fences

in the 2001 ABA vid a d00d jumps off the telecom (not sure of name sorry) tower in Malaysia and deploys his canopy then cuts away with reserve, reserve looks as though it only took 30ft or so to be fully inflated. although I could be way off on that estimate.

If I was in the twin towers in new york on 11th of sept 2001 and someone handed me a BASE rig, I think I'd have a better chance of surviving with that BASE rig then just jumping out of a window and tracking into cement few broken legs is better then 99.99999999999999% death

Hi Mike, Did you know you appear in the wikipedia ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BASE_jumping your name is there but when you click on it, your entry contains no info, maybe you can fill it out. wikipedia articles can be created and edited by anyone. anyone know who originally wrote the wikipedia article on BASE ?, is also a good article on Carl boenish (spelling), and a few other base related things, I can't seem to find the 102,000ft skydive, maybe someone who has a lot of info on it can add that article.
-
If this object was already built, would you class a 300,000 foot jump off it as a Basejump ? of cos you would need to wear a space suit for the extreme high altitudes, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Elevator Slashdot reports that the space elevator has been granted FAA approval, well testing anyway, they will be testing it by attaching it to a baloon 1 mile up.

I'm pretty sure its the 2003 dvd if not then its the 2004 dvd. I assume russel is the only jumper who rocks up in a chair
