Five Good Samaritans stopped a rape in progress
Darius11 replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
I am advocating rights for victims not the victimizers. I will not feel one second of remorse for that scumbag if he was executed; same goes for child rapists. Not only would I not feel sad for the scumbag I would buy the guys whom shot his head off a beer and say thank you. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

I know how you feel, but when you make comments like this, how can you discuss the concept of justice with any credibility For me Justice for a rapist and child molesters would be death. What happened in this story is rape, its not some college chick that changed her mind after the fact or got too drunk to remember who she fucked the night before. In this case kill the fuck that is justice too me, and I know I will not be able to argue why or go over the billion instances that might occur. I am not trying to convince you that I am right in my world in my mind I know I am right. I understand what you are saying but if they shot the guy execution style you would not here a word of complaint from me. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

Then they would have been responsible for murder and absolutely should go to jail. Stopping and holding him (only) is the right thing to do. We don't need vigilantism - even when dealing with scum like this guy. He will see punishment under LAW. I'm hoping he got beat because he tried to escape and they had to stop him. Or they ran up and kicked him in the face to knock him immediately off the woman. That's justified and absolutely the right thing to do. It's the adult thing to do and better measure of the men. If they just beat him for the hell of it in a self righteous tantrum, then they should be tried on assault as a completely separate crime. This is more appropriate to children and the weak willed. Do you see the difference? Anyone who disagrees with what rehmwa is saying here, needs to go do some reading of the law. What he is stating is the law. When I was in college, I did some research on self-defense law for a project, then interviewed the shift commander of the local PD to get clarification on a few points. For those of you who think you have a right to use violence to hold a suspect in a citizens arrest; Newflash: You don't. Anything beyond tackling the guy and holding him in a bearhug opens you up to assault charges. I am not arguing law I am arguing right. I don’t walk around with a disclaimer or a lawyer or the voice-over that warns you about what the side effects I might have. In reality the real world the dude is a scumbag his life loses all value to me when he decided to rape, and unfortunately are justice system does not always serve justice. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

Lets see the guy was raping a woman who was on crutches and was caught in the act. I say put him on his knees and put a bullet to the back of his head Spirit asante MOFO. Fuck the law, fuck the guy getting 5 years end him now period. I know we will never agree on this, just stating MHO I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

In the words of DMX "Here we go again" I know a few woman i would like to give my Jizwa too I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Not trying to make that a point at all. Considering how history has a bad habit of repeating it self. I felt it was one a good shirt, two points to the mentality of the people of that age and the similarities we have. We make the people we want to kill look like the bad guys and once we are done taking what we want a few hundred years later we say sorry and expect all to be well. We did the same to the African Americans and act shocked that some are still pissed. Now we are doing that to the Muslims. They are barbarians, and crazy blah blah blah and the sheep never learn. They always grab their torches and are ready to kill some brown people. I wonder how many times will we repeat the same actions expect no consequences and not consider what we are doing as immoral. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

If we are animals acting on instinct only with only our selfish interest in mind I would agree and maybe I should agree. I just hope we are more then that. In nature the weak get killed sometimes by there own mothers; should we take on the same principles? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I see people who were made out to be savages and barbarians just so we could kill them easier. We tend to do that often and the sheep tend to follow. Only years later do we admit what we did wrong if ever. Sorry we killed a lot of you now get over it and don't be a baby. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I agree with most of what he said when you go to Rome you do as the Romans. It is that simple. I believe he would have done a better job if he would have just said the 2nd half of his speech. As the first half it seems is more said just to piss of Muslims. I also don’t understand what is the Australian life style same as anyone saying American life style. What is the life style? Do they even know or does it differ depending on location and family culture? I also don’t see an issue of anyone following their religion, there is a big difference between practicing and teaching your children your beliefs then trying to make the country a Muslim State. I think it is disrespectful for anyone to tell anyone else that they are not allowed or should not practice what they believe in. And speaking of Australian values wasn’t Australia a penal colony? He gave the same vibe in person. I had the pleasure of meeting him in Eloy years ago. I liked him from the first hello. He was just a cool/Nice guy. Peace Brother fly free. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -
I don’t think it is about fear but more about just being realistic about where and how we live. In RI there is a lot of shootings and home invasions. Do I sit there worrying about someone braking in too my home all the time? No but I know what is possible and choose to be prepared. That not only includes owning a suitable gun but also practicing my shots and having the right ammo for my setting. I still practice my EP before every jump, do I fear a cutaway on every jump no but when and if it happens I want to be ready. I choose my life and the life my loved ones over all. If you do any research you will see over and over again that gun laws do not prohibit criminals from getting guns but only law-abiding citizens. I rather have law-abiding citizens with Uzi’s then a criminal with a .22. IMHO

Yea dude the funny thing is that is so true. It is just like family. I can fight and argue with most of you to the end, but as soon as were done arguing. I can easily see my self hanging out with most of the people I fight with and just having a good time. Tonight I’ll raise a blunt to you my friend. Peace and have a good weekend. Conflicting philosophies. Liberal VS Conservative IMHO.
Darius11 replied to Darius11's topic in Speakers Corner
Yea I know I did not cover much but I just wanted to throw out the idea. (arguing with you for the purpose of debate here) Why do some people succeed and others do not? Luck is something that’s out of our control, but once you factor luck out it has to do with making smart decisions and often working hard. Or at least having an ancestor who have worked hard so their children and future family don’t have to. If you are born in to a poor family? Or made poor decisions that have lowered your standard of life for you or your children whose fault is that? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -
Conflicting philosophies. Liberal VS Conservative IMHO.

I often find my self fighting in my head. Here is what I have determined and I would like your opinion on it. A. It seems in a perfect world in my fantasy world where all people are equal and there are no evil men trying to hurt others. There are no insane people trying to force their views on the world. It is a happy place with logical, rational, intelligent people. In that world the liberal philosophies and ideas would be perfect. B. In the other world. Mentally speaking we have not changed much from the tribe days. Not much different then any animal that lives in a group. The Alpha dominates. In this world there are people always ready to kick you of your thrown and take your things. They will try to take your place in anyway possible and defending your self out weighs all moral responsibility. Kill or be killed. In that world it seems the conservative philosophy (minus all the religious influence) would be the right philosophy. You can not show tolerance or mercy to the ones trying to take your crown. I believe we live in a world that is close to my description B but we all wish we lived in world A. This is a conflict I have in my head. I have prided my self on being a decent person IMHO. To not take or allow to be taken advantage of. To never be a victim and never victimize. I don’t fit in world A, or B but somewhere in between. When I sit and analyze liberal and conservative philosophies I often find that distinction. I like the liberal ideas more often they seem fair and kinder, however do we live in a world where we can be kind and giving or do we live in a world where we must protect our own? It is not black and white I go back and forth all the time. Please note: My intention in this thread is not to insult liberals or conservative. It simply states the differences I have noticed. There are things that I can agree with and things I disagree with on both sides. Where is the line that if we cross it we will be no different then the people we are trying to protect our selves from? Is there such a line or do all lines disappear when we are threatened? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -
Was the use of the Atomic Bomb on a city wrong??
Darius11 replied to Amazon's topic in Speakers Corner
I know a little bit of history. I have read what the Japanese did in Nanking and how they treated enemies. Ruthless is an understatement. It is hard to try to justify the death of woman and children and the targeting of civilians. We knew we would kill lots of civilians but we did it anyway. We judge others who target civilians or are careless about killing civilians very harshly. But after reading everyone’s posts and talking about this subject a few times, I would say we did the best thing for the world and in that war I have no problem saying we were the good guys. It was a lot more black and white. It was a horrible time and hard decisions had to be made. When I look at our enemies in that war I am sure they would have used the bombs on us if they had them. WWII the good guys won. We did what we had to do. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -
Was the use of the Atomic Bomb on a city wrong??
Darius11 replied to Amazon's topic in Speakers Corner
I think considering these facts. We knew the devastation the bombs would cause, and we picked populated cities where we knew we would kill men, woman and children in the hundreds of thousands. There is no question it was ethically the wrong move and the low road to take. However it was the right move for the US. Why Do We Need a Firearm if We Have the Police to Protect Us?
Darius11 replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Thank you sir. I have lived in a country that used to be the bright light of the Middle East, the cradle of culture and modernization in the Muslim world. In 1979 they turned it back 300 years over night just with politics, and propaganda. The sheep followed the bull shit and now you see where we are. I know from experience that your whole reality can change over night. I was very young when all that went down but I remember it and I will die to make sure that does not happen to my home. The founding fathers were some of smartest people on this planet they gave the power of America not to a man but to a document that we must all protect. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -
Why Do We Need a Firearm if We Have the Police to Protect Us?
Darius11 replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Because I rather die trying to save the people I love then to live with regret. One other reason that an armed public is a safe public is to keep the government in line in case it ever gets out of line. If we ever have a crazy president that decides to become a dictator and our congress and military does not act we as the American citizens can stand and fight for our constitution. I am sorry about your friend and the scumbag getting outbro. That sucks Have you ever watched the movie The Boondock saints? More and more every day I wish that movie would become reality. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
