Personally, I don't have a problem with the ruling. I have a problem with the SC over riding the voters of CA. 60% of Californians voted against same sex marrige. It looks like, once again, majority rule isn't worth a damn when the courts get involved. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

From Mr. Funari's accounts, the discovery was made when he transitioned from a head-down freeflying position to a flat tracking (freeflying) position during a skydive in early 2002. During this transition he realized that he was not falling anymore ?? It's early on Sunday so maybe I'm just too bricked to get this part. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Where I used to live the kids across the street hit a golf ball with their riding mower. Right through my front window all the way to the back of the house on the fly from about 1/8 mi away. My first thought was someone shot out my window. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

I got this through a friend... I was at a fund raiser on Friday night and was seated next to the Commandant of the MD State Police and learned something new. Apparently, MD is one of the few states that has a special task force to nab fugitives at airports. The passenger manifests of outgoing and incoming flights are provided to the MSP for a check on their computers for outstanding warrants. If it is a hit, you are met at the gate. Another guest at the table had a client that was wanted on a failure to appear warrant for a speeding ticket and flew to California (where she lived--family was here) and flew out of IAD upon the recommendation of her attorney . So there you have it, for passengers departing/arriving and maybe transiting BWI, if you have a warrant out for your arrest, they will likely catch you! Please don't dent the planet. i have never understood life insurance...its betting that you will die. how bout bet that you will live? anyway, i buy houses, not insurance. i dont like to make corporations money. even try to buy houses for mostly cash to limit the banks take. but if you must buy insurance, i have heard that term insurance is the way to go. Term is good for things like paying off your mortgage, fulfilling a buy/sell agreement, covering monies you owe for different things etc. Problem with term is it expires. Example...let's say your 30 years old. You buy a 30 year term $250,000 policy. You can buy a level term policy meaning your payments stay the same the whole way through, or you can buy increasing term where the premiums increase at specific intervals. If you buy a level term your payments will initially be higher than increasing term, but as you get older the increasing term will most likely surpass the premiums of level term. Either way, at age 60 you're without insurance, and nothing to show for all the $$ you've paid over the years. Kinda like leasing a car. And your premiums on a new policy at age 60 will be shockingly higher. You can buy whole life which combines a death benefit and an investment. The idea is that eventually the interest you earn on the investment side begins to pay for some or all of the monthly premium. Eventually it should mature and you won't have to make any monthly payments, and you'll have a life insurance policy with cash value that you can use as collateral. As others have pointed out there are probably better investment engines than whole life, but you always run the risk of having those investments lose money and being worth less than what you've put in. Whole life has a guaranteed death benefit that will never decrease. Now...let's talk about annuities And BTW, no matter what type of insurance you buy you'll pay extra for it to cover jumping. Take a good look at the Maury Show, when they do those DNA test to find out who the father is. You'll see exactly what Dr. Cosby is talking about. Of course, 'ol Cliff Huxtable fathered some of his own that way too. The man is saying what only a black man can say in our society today. And he's 100% on the mark. Please don't dent the planet. No 30 yo gets that much for $7. I'm not sure why you seem to have a problem with whole life. If it was such a bad product why is it still sold every day? There's a place for term and a place for whole. Why the attitude? Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

You still have to eat and have a place to stay regardless. R/T NONSTOP air from CLE to DEN is $239 right now. It's roughly 1350 miles ONE WAY to Denver from the CLE area.. That's at least 4 tanks of gas in my car. 8 tanks roundtrip times $60. You do the math. 4 days of driving. Gas, food and drink, maybe a motel along the way. Possiblity of a breakdown. PM me if you want and I can set it up for you. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Wrong, wrong, wrong! I guarantee you won't be thinking that when it matures and is paid up in full. Then you have a life policy that requires no payments, has cash value, and earns interest. Your coverage will continue to increase in value with no money out-of-pocket. It's an excellent long term strategy. For example, try buying term insurance when you're 60. Makes that whole life premium look like a bargain. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Your profile says you've been at it for 9 years, and the policies are around 11 years old. And you're absolutley sure the existing policy covers jumping? Did you read the exclusions? It doesn't always say "parachuting " or "skydiving". Sometimes it has verbage about being in an aircraft that is not a commercial flight. Possibly your carrier changed the exisiting policy guidelines after you started jumping, and for him to increase the policy limits would mean he'd have to disclose the jumping, which he doesn't want to do. Remember, many agents out there have only one goal in mind...get your money. They may seem like they have your best interests at heart but at the end of the week they can't go to the grocery store and say "I didn't sell Joe a policy because it wasn't right for him" and have the nice lady give him any food for that. Should the US Release Oil from the Strategic Reserve?
airdvr replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
How'd they do it? The only way I can see the blame being shifted to the Democratic Congress is to say that they screwed up enough to allow the Republicans to take over both the Executive and Legislative branches at the turn of the century. “Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging, rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies, and increasing production of alternative fuels.”-Nancy Pelosi That's working really good don't you think? Should the US Release Oil from the Strategic Reserve?
airdvr replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
Well if Hitler Jr., er, I mean Bush would invade Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and maybe Russia they'ed have plenny oil for the Military Machine. And hell why not Africa just to make sure we piss EVERYBODY off! IMHO high gas prices can be laid right at the doorstep of the DEM controlled congress. Of course they wouldn't fuck with the economy, especially in an election year. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne -

Really depends on the carrier's requirements. My first thought was "no" only because the category takes things like hazardous sports into consideration. It's like saying I could be preffered or premium....if only I didn't smoke, weigh 300 lbs, and have a 270 colesteral. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Will I always receive the price quoted from the carrier I apply to? NO! Each company has certain underwriting guidelines that you must meet to qualify. They are similar with most companies, but certain carriers are more flexible than others. Areas they review include: medical history, height, weight, cholesterol, driving record, family history of heart disease/cancer, hazardous sports etc. We make every effort to provide you the most accurate and realistic proposal based on your personal circumstance whether via the internet or through a call to our service center. If you do not receive the rate quoted, the company will generally offer an alternative. You may accept it or decline it. There is no cost to you should you decide to decline. www.zanderins.com Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

That makes perfect sense. On top of the normal monthly premium you add $5 per year per thousand. That's a rated policy. On a $100K case it's an additional $41.66 per month. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
