In the first place, you're confusing any act of homosexual activity with promiscuity. They're two different things. But gay people having gay sex no more frequently, and with no more partners, than the average heterosexual at the same stage of life are no more "out of control" or "adolescent" than any other person. Secondly, sex is a powerful need, and it is very difficult for people to live without it (at least until marriage beats them down, but that's another topic...). No, it's not as mandatory as eating, but it's very important to a person's psychological well-being. Catholic and Buddhist priests, monks and nuns, for example, are generally not born into those vocations, they willfully choose them.
