I've also been there on both ends and that is why it scares the hell out of me that my friends did not learn from my mistakes. I hope your friends are responsible and don't follow the same path as mine. He was an occasional user, not addicted by any means, just liked to have a good time. Sadly, he will have no more good times here with us. I hope you share many more good times with your friends. Remind them how lucky they are to play with fire and not get burnt. I have to agree here. It is nice to have something to say when the masses/co-workers ask what you got. It's almost like everyone expects you to get a gift on V-day if you are hooked up with someone. I don't ever expect anything on V-day and that's about what I usually get from my bf's It would be nice to get a card or have them make one. I've never been taken out or treated on V-day Not that its too sad (I agree its a fake holiday) but just once I would like to have a good story to tell the next day instead of..."I sat at home, at a pint of ben and jerries, then chocolates, I have V-day"...u get the idea. Thanks guys, thanks for everything. I was just drinking with him in the bar last week before he had to go to a meeting. It's just stunning that I'll never see him in that bar stool again. I bought him a couple of drinks and he thanked me with his graciousness, at least I got him top shelf and didn't cheap out! All is well, thanks for the vibes again guys. Last night I found out that my friend of three years OD on cocaine He always talked about jumpin but never got to experience the joy. I'm hoping that I will be able to talk his fraternity brothers into doing a sort of memorial day of tandems for them. Hopefully, when the weather warms up, we'll get 'em out to the dz so they can bond and move on. On top of my mid-term today and another tomorrow, ugh, my day can't get much worse. I share your pain, I haven't been sleeping much either. I toss and turn all night, then I'll get up and get some warm milk in hopes of going back to sleep. It seems that I always get a good night's sleep on Monday nights. I think that is due to the fact I get to talk to my bf on Mon's usually

a CD of ocean sounds or white noise. Try some of the cable music channels if you have them, usually some relaxing shit on there. Hope things work and you finally get some rest!
