  1. me to, Shane, me too... but i was just kidding bro - i am not removing the tattoo. let it serve as a reminder - I could have been a contender!
  2. Yes. The rejection stung so bad... Seeing my dreams and hopes flushed down the toilet was so painful, i got wasted and didnt sober up til just yesterday. When i woke up i saw that my eye brows were gone and my had was shaved. But they left a nice mohawk to preserve business-like appearance for when i go back to the office. Thanks guys, that was very thoughtfull of you! I dont recall much of the last week, but i was told that i sold my JVX for less then $500 (true market value, i guess) to a post AFF student, saying that the canopy was perfect for him and that i dont need it anymore. I would't be surprised if i cried... Embarrassing, but it was a good reality check... I guess it is time to face it i am not good enough and go visit a tattoo removal specialist. "Property of PD Factory Team" logo is getting burned off my ass. And this time - forever, I promise. Not like the last three times.
  3. what he said. I switched from PC1000, which i absolutely LOVED. HC5 and CX7 are my choices for skydiving cameras now. I mean, come on man, we're almost in 2009, why buy a 2005 camera even if it's new?
  4. I dont recall the exact overall results but pretty much EVERYONE got paid If i remember correctly Noah, Teeling and Coco took 900 each, Al got 600, me and Sergei took 100 each. Some pics here, courtesy of Vadim Sverdlov: http://maxf.net/~vadim/gallery/swoop08
  5. No idea, but i have some great news! I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance! Oh and the pond swoop is this weekend.
  6. Not true. Dont listen to those people :) It's not the camera position - it's the flying/filming skills ;) take a look at this as a reference of a top mounted CX7 with no wide angle lens! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqi2RWulT5I
  7. Bro, i am more interested in a topic named something like: "Dropzones that banned Crazy Larry" :)
  8. yes, indeed. But that was in the past. This year, with my winnings from the last FL CPA meet at the Farm, i was able to undergo a mildly painful operation where my oversized human testicles were replaced with simple, yet functional fist size brass balls. For those who've never been to FL CPA - fifth place winnings were 1500 bucks this season, up $500 from the year before, when i only got $1000 for the third place. Also, FL CPA pays down to 10th place who basically gets his money back and 11th-15th places usually get back rubs with happy endings - compliments of Ian Drennan.
  9. PC1K served me well for 3+ years, it's been a great camera for skydiving, no doubt. But why on earth would anyone want to spend 1000 USD today for a "new" 4 year old design SD mini-DV camera is beyond me. Personally, I see absolutely no reason to buy a PC1000 these days since there are so many choices for hundreds less in high def. Firewire is gone, accept it. Solid state is the way to go. If you still do editing in analog SD why cant you use A/V from an HD cam? If you edit on a PC get a damn card reader :) If your only concern getting your buddy's footage... get an el cheapo Sony HC-something for 200+ bucks and a nice CX12 and there you go - you personal entry pass into the 21st century skydiving video in the form of a nice solid state HD cam and a good DV cam for back ups.
  10. you guys are just jealous. Don't hate the player, hate the game! Oh and... I got a chest strap extension.
  11. - what are the chances of a girl like me getting on the PD Factory Team? - Well, Mike, it's pretty difficult to say.. - Hit me with it! What are my chances? - Not good. - You mean, not good like one out of a hundred? - I'd say more like one out of a million. - ... So you're telling me there's a chance! If by that you mean a long chest strap, then yes, I think i do. I have the longest chest strap in the world! although some jealous haters may dispute that.
  12. Some people are complaining about the rebate: http://www.adorama.com/IDSCFE316G30.html#ProductReviews
  13. indeed they do. Some people my be opposed to applying for a credit card though. Update: 16 GB cards are on back order...
  14. Awesome! good catch, thank you! just got two 16 gig cards Edit: oh shit looks like it's not an actual rebate... rather you get a pre-paid credit card.... Please read the rebate form closely
  15. They do give you a proper warning during the installation process ;) "Dont install ALL of the codecs, just the ones you need, less is more, uninstall the prior packages", etc. On my PC the "default" install of k-lite pack is working great. VLC player that i've been using for years wouldn't even consider avchd files... MPC is rocking them.
  16. Download the k-lite codec pack, it has the Media Player Classic included, works like a dream. http://www.download.com/K-Lite-Mega-Codec-Pack/3000-13632_4-10794603.html
  17. If by "collective" you mean the Gold Coast Swoop, then yes. Their new slogan: "ALL YOUR LUNCH MONEY ARE BELONG TO US. YOU HAVE NO CHANCE TO SURVIVE MAKE YOUR TIME. HA HA HA HA ..."
  18. Correction. I mostly GIVE lunch money, not TAKE it. I think probably cause i'm such a nice guy.
  19. Let me guess, Sunman was naked? Then it wasn't the burble, bro. The canopy just got scared and refused to fly behind him. I kinda know cause i went temporarily blind from seeing Sunman naked, lucky it cleared right up once Tiffany displayed the boobs. It was a miracle, really, i thought i was done for good. All seriousness aside though, my friend had to cutaway from a similar collapse on his velo after he got into a tandem burble. I wonder, is big slow canopy burble worse vs. small fast one?
  20. When did you become such a little girl, GW? Is it my chest strap that scares you? I can understand that. But don't be afraid of it, it's just a piece of fabric, man. Besides, i am just compensating for my larger than average testicles.
  21. Is this coming weekend! Looks like it's going to be the usual format - 2 jumps each of carving lane, straight lane, expression and 1 jump of raft accuracy. May be targets too? i dont know. Billy told me it's going to be "just what the ad says", but i didnt ask what ad and where... anyone seen any ads? :) Who is planning to be here? Going to make Friday my practice day...
  22. How on earth did you see that in my original post? I asked if a wide angle lens was recommended for shooting CReW video, doesn't mean i was going to do it right away. You shouldn't jump to conclusions. you said: That to me sounds like an indication of intentions to do CReW video. Whatever dude, i dont really care - you're a grown man and can do what you want.
  23. How on earth did you see ANY that in this whole thread???? You indicated your intentions of doing CReW video at 90 jumps. As is usually the case on these forums, people will bring up your profile if your questions suggest that you're trying to do something well above your level of experience. This is internet. Welcome! Not really. "You're not a child" ;) However if you want to ask - go ahead. I did CReW video at the US nationals in 2007. The canopy i was flying was a competition set up VX96@2.5 wingloading, trying to film CReW dawgs on their Lightnings @1.6-1.8(?) There is a funny story to tell about that experience, even though i managed to do a half way decent job.
  24. Your attitude is disappointing, Serega. If only you knew how many people before you made the same assumptions. Martial arts, motocross, fast reaction, in tune with their body... they were all grown ups and they all thought they were careful and more then capable at their experience level. Some of them made very big mistakes thinking that. Some lived to tell, others didn't. But these things will go on and on, history is bound to repeat itself. People don't learn on words of caution of the more experienced, they learn on their own broken bones.
