What he said!!!! Also, be sure that the canopy's assembled properly on the card before transferring it to the risers (if you know how,,,,, if you don't, find someone that does). Take a little "extra" care while putting the links onto the risers as the threads are sharp and can snag the webbing, and when tightening the barrel-nuts, be sure not to catch the lines or risers in the threads (this can happen Easily) and don't overtighten them. When finished, the longer side of the link should be down. Perform another continuity check. If the rig came with an owners manual, look closely @ the installation of the pilot-chute and bag (especially if it's a collapsable pc).

Shark's response is perfect, nothing is 100% failsafe. One's got to wonder just how accurate of a report a business would publish when they get to "police" their own incidents,,,,,,,, and if you take an electronic instrument and hurl it @ the ground as hard as you can (and that'd be slower than a person in freefall), just how much information could be retrieved from it????????? Something to think about huh? R

Disassembling as well as assembling a parachute IS rigging and is best done by a rigger.........., not that a "non-rigger" isn't capable, just more likely to make unnecessary work for the rigger in the end or/and damage the parts that are YOUR last chance @ life. For instance, did you use pliers or a wrench on the connector links? (pliers and channel-locks can gouge the link/barrel and make it a sharp surface in your container) Did you make sure that the barrel-nuts didn't catch the lines (at-All) while unscrewing them? This reply is meant more to give "food-for-thought" than anything------- no offense is meant (to Any). R
