  1. OK, cool. Thanks a lot guys. I guess doing tandem videos and such, you probably want to show them something that looks closest to reality. Personally, I think that fish eye effect is really cool, but not necessary.
  2. I must be having one of those bad online communications nights cuz everyone keeps taking what I'm saying the wrong way. I don't have a problem with that either. Heck I drive a BMW myself (cuz I like the performance and they run forever). I like my electronic gadgets & skydiving toys. What I'm talking about is priorities. Sure I like having nice things and doing what I want to do (like skydiving my butt off). But that's not what makes me me. If all that went away tomorrow, sure I'd be bummed, but I still have myself, my family and hopefully my friends. What I have a problem with are people who define themselves, their worth and the worth of others by their material possessions and socio-economic status. Ahh...good call, Zennie. I admit I took your post the wrong way. Sorry.
  3. I'd agree with you. However, I'd rather live in a relaly nice house then a dump, rather drive a BMW then a Chevy, and if I'm not attracted to my wife there's something fundamentally wrong. I don't think any of these things make me superficial. And yes, I'm relatively young, live downtown, and am a profesional. Yuppie. Guilty. I don't think I've got anything to apologise for, either. _Am I agree with you Andy. To me, liking nice things and appreciating physical beauty is not a bad thing. As long as you don't push your own beliefs on someone and try to make them believe the same as you, I'm good to go.
  4. If you need anyone to do the "technical" or "workhorse" aspect of anything, I am willing and able. Just PM or email me if you need anything done, Sangiro. Blues. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
  5. Hey Andy...I would really just use that Fisheye for skydiving, when the time came. I would probably just use the regular lens it comes with for everyday stuff. Thanks. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
  6. I am pretty sure you're right Dave. When we were checking them out last year, I believe that was the only reason the gear guy recommended the Parapack. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
  7. Thanks a lot, guys! Since I am starting to use the front risers on my landings to get a little speed built up for a better flare (I have a Safire), I thought this is an issue I may want to start looking into. Thanks again. Oh yeah....so are you saying there is no real "right or wrong" for where they should be? It is just a personal preference unless it is buffeting? Thanks again. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
  8. Jeez Ducky...5'10" and 130#? I am 5'9" and 215. Ever seen Penn and Teller? Hahah!! http://www.brandonandlaura.com
  9. Tiff...should it be Tiffani Soli? I just went off of an email name. Sorry.
  10. Thanks for the info! I am really excited now that I hear someone is actually happy with the 120. I just hear a bunch of people saying "its not worth it", "it's too big", blah blah blah... Glad to hear that the quality is what you pay for. Thanks. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
  11. OK, then I have 2 questions for you: 1) will that .5 offer the "fish eye" effect? 2) what brand of lens do you recommend for .5? Thanks!
  12. Thanks for the thoughts guys! It sounds like the .43 is the best choice, eh? Don't have to be 3 feet or less to get a shot and you can still get that "fish eye" aspect, right? http://www.brandonandlaura.com
  13. Yeah, that is kind of cool, but now I need a cell phone. Haha! Is there a feature that allows you to transfer photos from the camera to your computer wirelessly? http://www.brandonandlaura.com
  14. Laura and I both bought our Wings new as our first rig. I liked the idea of having something that was made just for my body. Just seems to make sense if you can afford doing that. You will NOT be disappointed by the Wings.
  15. Hey there. I was reading Parachutist and they were talking about a canopy coaching seminar in Oregon where a lot of people found out that their canopy needed the brake lines' lengths changed. Here is my question: how can you check for that? Is it something you get out a tape meaure for? Can I check it while flying the canopy? Should I get someone who is experienced to fly it? I hear this is a great way to get the most out of your canopy. What do you think? Thank you.
  16. Hey everyone. After all the talk about wide-angle lenses and the Diamond .3, I have decided against getting this when we get a camera due to how close one must be for a good shot. So, I am curious to what you would recommend for something that is wide-angle and really gives that "bend" effect when shooting from altitude at the horizon. The less black in the corners, the better. Also, what else should I look for? Thanks to all of you great people. I love having this forum for all these camera/lens questions.
  17. Hey Andy...thanks a lot for the opinion! I went to the Sony website and for some reason, their measurements showed up really weird and didn't make any sense. Thanks for the compare.
  18. OK, there is a member page for bbarnhouse. Also, #0016 is taken but 14 and 15 are not. Let me know what you think.
  19. Hey Phree...so, are you saying that if you would go with the 120, the size difference really isn't that great and the weight difference is not noticable after a few jumps? Just curious and trying to make an informed decision before going with something. Would you agree that the extra resolution is worth the size/weight increase? Anyone else care to share their opinion?
  20. It should be updated to this point. And of course I threw in a little plug for HH. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
  21. OK, the first version of Yuppie Skydivers is up. Just check out the link from the skydiving page.
  22. Does anyone object to me putting your email on his webpage next to your name? If so, please say so. I will use the one that is in your username profile.
  23. Here is my idea for the webpage, you can have the dropzone.com name, number, and email for each member. Than, if you want, Richard, we can make a small page for each member. That can include real name, email, photo, bio, etc. Let me know! As this post evolves, I'll keep updating the list on the website. Once it starts looking presentable, I'll upload it to your site and announce it on this site.
  24. As a 22 year old, I can agree with those who say that we "grow up" from about 18 to now. When going through college, I always thought I had it figured out and knew what I needed to know. Well, after I got married (at age 20), I realized more and more that my parents are the smartest people that I know and everything they have ever done for me was for my own good. I wish I would have known this at about age 12. Don't worry, Lisa. He'll come around someday. You just may have to put your foot down and be the mean "bytch" for awhile. Good luck.
