I think you might find that Joburg Skydiving club based in Carletonville is close... great place in my opinion - due to DZ being about 5500 feet above sea level exit altitude is limited to 11k but the people there are great..... If you go to Kolomna (near Moscow), you can jump their Mi8 helicopter - holds about 22 jumpers, goes up to 13,500, gets there as quick as a turbolet and costs about $10 a jump (last year)... *********************************************** I'm NOT totally useless... I can be used as a bad example

Some judges views from the UK (a bit dated but might be relevant, from a UK website that seems to raise awareness of rape issues / injustices etc)... Judge Ian Starforth Hill's comments that an eight year old victim of a sexual attack was "not entirely an angel" raises echoes of the notorious remark by Judge Bertie Richards in 1982 that a teenaged hitch-hiker who was raped after thumbing a lift late at night was "guilty of a great deal of contributory negligence". The judge, who was banned from trying sex cases as a result, caused an uproar when he let the rapist, a businessman, off with a £2000 fine. Judge Starforth Hill's word also recall the comment of Mr Justice Owen, a High Court Judge, that a 12 year old rape victim had been "asking for trouble" by going to a 19 year old man's room. My experience, after completing AFF in South Africa but not the 10 consolidation jumps, was that some UK drop zones were not very helpful, but I eventually found one that was great. If you can complete AFF and get 10 consolidation jumps in before coming home that would probably help, as would having video footage of your jumps. Having said that, the place I learned was not affiliated to any UK drop zone, which may have made a difference. Has anyone any information on the Kiev dropzone - I can't read russian / ukrainian so can't make out too much of the dropzone. The other considerations might be comfort and closeness of fit.. have had jumps where the discomfort of new goggles gets in the way of the dive, and had another where the new but not so well fitting goggles came away from my eyes as I exited (first night jump. 14k, not enough time spent on the basics, a big lesson learned for the future).. not a huge problem on that jump and not much different to high speeds on a bike with eg sunglasses but not really ideal.. *********************************************** I'm NOT totally useless... I spent a day jumping at Skydive Tortuga in Tuscany earlier in the year. Hello mate. I am flying out on Saturday and plan to be jumping on Sunday. I have been before and think it is a fantastic drop zone - great facilities, lots of lifts, really nice staff and great people there generally (great coaches etc). Also, I think during that week they are doing high altitude loads (last time I was there I got to 22,500) for 2 jump tickets - about $40 I think (is that about £25??). For my money, I would like to hear all types of views before parting with a load of cash. I would always encourage people to post their honest views on this type of subject - it does not take much effort to pm people who leave feedback to find out when they were there, exactly what the problems were etc. At least with more specific knowledge of the issues people stand a chance of finding out whether the issues are still there or are likely to have been resolved. I got 104 seconds freefall after exiting at 22,500 at Z Hills last year... We were told to pull higher than normal (so I pulled at 4k).. Altis don't work as normal above something like 15k (I think) - I can't remember what height it was showing on exit but it was a long way off from what it should have been *********************************************** I'm NOT totally useless... Why not? It protects pediphiles, the KKK, Nazis etc...Spammers don't injure anyone, they are just annoying. Spam costs the average small business of 100 employees with email an average of $20,000 per year. My job takes me to a lot of companies to discuss, amongst other things, their IT security - bigger companies are starting to spend a lot of money on anti-spam measures (multiple servers, increasingly complex software etc)... and guess who the cost is likely to be passed onto in the end?? *********************************************** I'm NOT totally useless...
