Not the best attitude to approach any new skydiving discipline with. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Seriously, what game is it? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I used a 1/2" thick piece of MDF rather than metal as my plate. I got long sections of aluminum angle and cut them down and drilled holes. I got all that from Home Depot. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Chuck, don't add the microballoons now, before the other 3 layers. Having filler in between laminates can really decrease the overall strength of the composite structure. After all 6 layers have been laid up, then you can add filler or fairing compound to smooth the surface. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

That would be incredibly difficult. Even if the foam weren't coated in resin, which makes it even harder and stronger. You'd understand if you had a mold in your hands. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Then do another jump, before that tandem. Even if we give you all the answers, it's only fair to the customer you test out your new gear BEFORE they are paying you. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I did not have any problems with my shell coming apart at this point... I forget exactly how I glued it together, I just did it however Wes said to. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Ditto, and I saw your article too Spot.

Ok, this is a fun game, I can play too. Lens #1 Lens #2 One lens is Canon 18-55mm cheap plastic ($90?), other is Canon 10-22mm ($700). The one taken with the cheap lens, btw, will be on the cover of an international physics textbook coming out in February, and the check from the publishing company more than paid for the camera and cheap plastic lens used for the shot. While I think your post is thought provoking, the difference is more like $600 and half a pound (in my case). Even the heaviest lenses aren't going to be more than a pound total (most I have shopped are 13-16oz), certainly not a full pound increase. And in general, a nicer lens will take nicer pics, but it is still possible to take very nice pics with only an "ok" lens. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Just get an HC5, they work fine! Why does choice have to be either HC7 or PC1000? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

I think Arizona maybe... I have called Terry Schumacher a few times with questions and once Brent answered, so I got the idea they shared a shop or something, but I could be wrong. Somebody else probably knows. EDIT: CLICK www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Hey Bowen, not sure why the different sizes exist, you'd think in such a small market we could have only one system. I prefer the concentric just because I think the optical pattern looks cleaner. Obviously it's way more expensive... I wonder if it is actually harder to make, or it's just priced higher because of higher demand. Either way it's worth it to me. I have a Brent's, I've spoken to Brent and know he's a real person. Not saying Newton isn't made by a real person, Brent was just an easier choice somehow, and more widely available I think. EDIT: Nice info Howard! I did not know that. I'll leave my above post the same even though I look stupid now. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Taiyo Yuden is good, get it from am-dig.com. Mitsui was king of CD-R years ago but I've heard they were bought out and went downhill. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Well, on a 4.5GB DVD I can usually fit about 4.5GB of data. Go figure. Footage from my old HC90 captured RAW came in as AVI. From my new HC5 it's M2T (I think). In both cases, a rough estimate (I don't know where I got this from but it is in my head) is that ~13GB = ~1hour. So it takes about 3 DVD-R's to store an entire tape of raw footage. I also keep the tape, but it is nice to have an already captured version. Dumping a disc's content to my HDD for working with is much easier than recapturing from. I don't like dealing with tapes, and even though I have a nice big archive of them I have never dug into it, once. I get the raw footage from my DVD-R's in the rare occasion that I need it. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

DVD can hold data like any other medium. I personallly use DVD-R for all my raw footage storage. I may be a minority, but I like the fact that the session is closed and the data cannot be deleted. I also burn multiple copies, because we all know that optical media can fail. In 5 years I will re-archive everything on whatever the new optical media standard is. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Bad business is bad business, I wouldn't support them given the many people they've screwed (from reading the reviews). Plus you can still get screwed by a brick and mortar store. Imagine you get a new drive that is damaged and they refuse a simple exchange, forcing you to initiate a complicated and time-consuming warranty claim. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
-
That place has very poor rating. Same drive is $139 on Amazon, with free shipping. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The major difference between carbon fiber and fiberglass is stiffness (and strength, to some extent). Fiberglass is strong enough, however, and for the helmet shell stiff is actually not what you want. For the top plates, you do want stiff. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Any pictures of yourself while working ???

Did it break? www.WingsuitPhotos.com -
Ok, what's the cost then? A head mold this way (the Wes way) should cost well under $100. The reason (I'm guessing) for Chuck's quoted cost so far is because he's already bought all his materials for the rest of the project. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Easy answer, what are the pixel dimensions of the media file? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
