Attaching an Aircrew Knife to cheststrap?
Dave1216 replied to Dave1216's topic in Canopy Relative Work
It really isn't as mean as it looks. The point is rounded off and so is as pointy as a car key. The blade is in the curve so your less lightly to cut yourself. The blade is not particulary sharp either. It stays securely in the shealth (see the wings on the handle). -

umm, how's this. Although, if you haven't seen one before, they look meaner than they are. -

Parasport Italia - Great Customer Service
Dave1216 replied to Dave1216's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi, Thought Parasport Italia deserved praise. Bought a pair of Z1 eyes. On the ride to altitude a lense fell out and i couldn't refit. Stashed the goggles in my jumpsuit and jumped 'goggleless'. Upon landing i realised the goggles were missing! Emailed Parasport Italia, and explained the above. I am now a proud owner of a new pair of Z1 eyes. (Didn't even have to pay postage!) -
Your a star!!! I think i owe you beer

I'm hoping some of you have photo's wearing the Havok. I'm hoping to see what it looks like with a 'head' in it, as all the photo's i've seen don't. Cheers, Dave

I disagree, Cypres does datalog as does the Vigil. The only difference is the data is viewable on the Vigil. Would you prefer it if cypres didn't store data, serial number or other such 'useless' info? Both units have an interface, only one is infra-red and the other is direct connection.

Software updates (as i understand it) can be done using the rigger software, so can be updated without a repack even being required! If it is a hardware update, then you send the device back to them when required. Why send it back on the "off chance" there may be a update. What happens if Airtec make an update a few weeks after your service? Do you have to wait another 4 years?

Hi, I have read the reviews in the 'gear section' and all seem positive. I'm wondering if there are any other experiences (maybe negative) of this helmet. Do people regulary use it for freeflying or camera work? Cheers.

UK...BPA propose manditory AADs on all jumpers below B licence
Dave1216 replied to gerrcoin's topic in Gear and Rigging
I believe that piggyback static line require AAD's but 'traditional' (belly-mount reserve) don't. I may be wrong, i invariably am! -
In the UK we have to jump with 'em. I understand the situations when they are reqired, but has anybody ever used one? Or more importanlty, has anybody been hurt (or worse) because they weren't carrying one?
-
Great! My Vigil was manufactured around March 17th! At my dropzone, we are not allowed to jump without AAD's. Although it's still safe to jump at the moment, does that mean i'm grounded until i send & recieve it back? Can't they have an exchange scheme where once i recieve the new one, i can send the old one back!?!?!? It took 3 months for the thing to arrive, had it taken an extra week (or so), i'd have a goodin. I have just had my reserve re-packed, what a pain!

Has the link gone down?

Same as there are a dozen dytter manufactures?

Not good. However, communication is much better than it was when cypres was first realeased. Was dropzone.com around 13 years ago?!!? Although it still raises the point, there still maybe flaws! The original cypres required a static envlope, why was this? Did the original Cypres have the same problem? I'd be interested in hearing how many jumps DeLand Majic have done using the Vigil. Furthermore, i understand vigil will replace the cutter for free after a "lifesaving". Will they replace the cutter if it is fault with manufacture?

In the UK a few DZ's operating from military airfields offer discount for service personal. I know of one British DZ which is considering charging less for 16-18 year olds to try and entice them in. Isn't this the same thing? It costs the DZ the same amount to get both people in the air, yet one is charged less. People don't tend to have a problem with this. I think it’s a great idea!

Yeah, i have a relative in the US.

I have tried calling him at all hours of the day. I just tried again 04:45 in the morning . No reply, so left message.
