I absolutely agree wtih Jeff in all aspects of what he wrote. Be more afraid of the addiction and be prepared for a new perspective....I say this because it sounds like you are one of us that jump once and become instantly hooked!!! Some jump once and thats it. No big deal, but for most of us it only takes once and life is forever changed! Heck, I am still trying to figure out where I am going to get all this money to get through my training, ready to sell all I own just to jump! Lol!!! ...........No REALLY! Hello, I wish I could reply with an answer to your post. However, maybe as a partial answer...I have also been looking for skydiving videos and such.. I searched the book store, Barnes and Nobles, and Borders and found that I had to order any books. Many videos were simply not available. Therfore I have come to the conclusion that we must search the internet. Maybe eBay, but I doubt it. I haven't done much searching the past couple of days but I did save the lists that I got from the book stores. Ok, so we are all crazy to the "others" but as far as tattoos... hrmmm...I think they are addicting too! see attachment...not the best one but I want more! lol! Dammit all these addictions, maybe I should pull the plug on this damn puter next...after all look at the time....aghh!!! WE ARE ALL ADDICTS! SKYDIVE! TATTOOS>>>and these damn puters! Well as for a normal life, I do truly believe that once one makes his/her first tandem, life has just begun! Life before was a nice prelude! I definately believe that you will not get your regular life back so just give up already! I am always told, that I am obsessed with skydiving...well duh, of course I am! Hey, so how did you start jumping at a young age? What or who got you into it? I think that is completely cool and wish I had done it wayyy sooner. However, I do believe that almost any (reasonable) age is good to start skydiving, I am just getting started myself and will probably be addicted forever! Blue skies to you! ~Rocky

Welcome!!! I think it's great to hear from others that are also addicted! I think the addiction is addicting! LOL! I wish my wallets were bottomless because I would be jumping every chance I could, we all love it here! Hope you enjoy dropzone.com as much as I have! Hey there! I was just reading some forums and came across this here crazy one! I ended up looking at yer website and was reading about your first tandem where you said, "...We get to the door and with a 1, 2, 3 count, we are out! I AM FREE! This is the most amazing feeling I have ever had!" When I read that, wow, I know the feeling and remember it clearly as I have only done my first tandem....I know I will always remember it and wish, dammit, wish I had the money to start and complete my AFF right now! I'm sure all skydivers remember their first! I am off to go visit the dropzone, but know I wont jump today. I know I will complete my AFF training by November but I want to do it now. I feel like, on beautiful days like today, that I have to be up there! It's awesome to read about others that have the "free" feeling! Nice website! Hi, how funny, but how true! The people on the road are crazy! I am CONVINCED that I am the only person on this earth that can drive right! lol JUst kidding! I have a heavy foot, bad! A deer almost killed me the other day! Boats and animals are far more dangerous than airplanes! Yeah! That's awesome! I have a friend who jumped a lot in the military...don't you jump very low? He told me ya get out of the plane and land very quickly! That would be cool too! To Juanesky and everyone, wonderful advice, thank you! I am going this week to start training...I guess they jump all the way up to Thanksgiving...the weather in upstate NY starts to get bad after that! I may have to travel a bit during breaks in school. Hey thanks everyone for the warm welcome.... I have a silly question that I'm sure you have all at one point in time or another have come across... As you know here, I am new and have all so much to learn. Everything to learn! It is important to me that my family understand and shares my enthusiasm for skydiving. If not even just to be happy for me! When I tried to talk to my mother about the dropzone I found and my new "addiction" she says silly things, like, "Why would you want to do it if you don't get paid? Why waste your money?" How does one respond to this? I would like her to understand, along with certain others. Also how, after you have become more experienced do you actually talk about skydiving to people that havn't jumped and relate? It's almost as if they have no idea? I'm not trying to be mean but....I feel like they really don't and here I am just a rookie! I'm still probably just one of them! Does this sound too crazy? What is going on! Anyway, thanks again! Hello, I recently jumped at Pepperell, Nashua NH, with Mary Kuneman and her fiance Tom Noonan, what a blast! I grew up with Mary in upstate NY and a few of us went to NH to visit her for her graduation from Daniel Webster. What a riot and if you two are listening...*reading* holy crap what did you do to me! I am totally addicted!!! (attached is a pic Tom took of me!) Found a dropzone close to home though and off I go to empty my wallet and have a blast! This is by far, the most addictive habbit ever! Thanks guys! I look forward to these forums, jumping and meeting fellow skydivers! Til then blue skies to all! Hey! Tom is great, Mary too! I have known Tom's better half since I was in elementary school and went to visit and jump with them recently and had the time of my life, and if you read his article, I can assure you he wasn't kidding about learning to buy beer! They really know how to have fun and that we did! He and Mary and the rest of the gang were the most fun and extremely nice people! If you're reading guys, I can't wait to visit again! Keep in touch!
