  1. You have to replace the spandex when it needs it. I replaced mine when I was selling the rig, with 1275 jumps on it. It probably should have been replaced at about 1100 jumps. Your mileage may vary.
  2. I ordered mine with the low-profile metal reserve handle, and did not like it. It is too small, too hard to grab in a hurry. I traded it in on a regular sized Wings reserve handle, which is not all that large anyway.
  3. I'm not sure about the thumb thing, but I wouldn't oppose having public whippings and stocks brought back to use.
  4. If they teach classes, the student operation could be STFU.
  5. I like my Wings okay, but the FF handle was such a problem that I never jumped it. Unless they have made a significant improvement since January, give it a pass and get a hackey or tube handle. Service is good, they shipped me a replacement pilot chute/hackey in 3 days, before I returned the one with the FF handle.

  7. The Stiletto has a short control range, so I'm surprised that you cannot stall it, unless you really added too much slack to the lower control lines. How long are your risers? If you can easily reach your slider, you could probably use risers 2 inches longer, which will give you another 2 inches of range to flare deeper.
  8. You must mean "made it permanent," not "did away with it."
  9. If it passes inspection, hasn't been wet, hasn't been stored in a car trunk, buy it. I'd say it is worth more like $450-$500, but what do I know?
  10. $1M is a pretty common requirement for aircraft based at many airports.
  11. Dying, yet refreshed. Heat wanes; lost feelings return. First breeze of Autumn.
  12. There is a jumper at my home DZ who recently did the same, but the turns after the line twist were more violent. She chopped it and landed okay on her reserve. Had she made that radical turn at 800 feet, she would be dead. She was also on a "conservative" Sabre2, wingloading probably about 1.2:1.
  13. DZ is okay, but you better pack for her, and jump with her. None of that "just because I slept with you last night doesn't mean I'll jump with you today" stuff!
  14. Ouch my eyes. That guy looks like he spends a lot of time wedging a crack.
  15. I tried the FreezR, and did not like the security of the fit. The chin strap serves no purpose. I had every size of mix and match liner component, so it wasn't the size. The FreezR does provide a lot of room for eyeglasses. Other folks like them okay. You need to jump the helmet, in your size, before buying one. At least you need to try it on.
