  1. Looks like we are beating the myth of 1 in every 300. Bump. Currently: 135001 Skydives 230 Cutaways --------------------- 135001 / 230 --------------------- 586.96 / 1
  2. Someone please lock this thread. The future is here and the past is passed already. This section is looking more like the Bonfire everyday.
  3. Do you find it difficult to switch from the right-brain (artistic) to your left brain (4-way) from year to year?
  4. And Scarecrow will be on deck...you guys are gonna our nuts.
  5. Reference 9 days ago: http://hudsonreporter.com/view/full_story/6410174/article-New-life-for-Xanadu---New-York-developer-may-jump-start-stalled-project-?instance=secondary_stories_left_column
  6. A potential SkyVenture tunnel, ten minutes from my house. I'm drooling. Although, I heard that it's speculated to be a wuffo tunnel (low wind kinda deal). Who knows? Here is the wikipedia info on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xanadu_Meadowlands
  7. Quoted from FB: "It was like the 4th of July coming out of that box. And is smelled so fucking bad. I'll admit it dude, I was fucking scared. Glad we were there to see it Trent. Radical." "Electical fire/explosion. No idea why. That thing blew like 5 times while we were up in the waiting area. Scary shit." Attached pic of the electric box. Unsure of the current state of the machine.
  8. Yeah, but there a lot of high numbers next to names that weren't in the finishing bunch. ??
  9. It's hard to read the scoreson that link. I don't quite understand.
  10. Gold - Steve Curtis Silver - Rob Antalocy Bronze - Justin 'Tuck' Pendleton 4th - Simon Bones (heard this one was a tie)
  11. Which tunnel? I'm talking about New Hampshire. I am guessing that 77% is different at each tunnel. I think it was 135. But 135 isn't that slow in the tunnel - so the local rats told me.
  12. I really think it has a lot to do with the speed that they set the wind in the tunnel. More importantly, these tunnel instructors want to see that you can BAIL out without running into the wall. Prove to them that you can bail out and they will put the wind up - is my guess. At about minute 20, I'm on the net in Orlando wobling back and forth. At about minute 45, I'm in the Raeford tunnel with Selwyn as he spot me in mid air. With enough speed, I fly stable, and he let's go. No problem but it is a little weird. At minute 1:05. I'm back in the New Hampshire tunnel wobbling on the net again. At minute 1:15, the coach set the tunnel at 77% (about 130 mph). Off I went, without any problems and have been hovering since. But you gotta be able to bail out into a sit without bouncing off of the walls. Key for their confidence (and yours) I would think.
  13. It took me 50 minutes to be off the net in a head down. Though, my jump numbers are about 6000 right now. Regardless, it's quite enjoyable because there is still so much to learn in the tunnel...and in the sky.
  14. I heard someone punched all the pilots and they quit.
  15. You need to work on getting your hip and glute muscles developed and practiced equally. It takes currentness and excercises (both in the sky, on the ground, or in the tunnel). Strattle or daffy, ultimately, it's best to be able to place your legs any place in-between the two. It will just take a lot of dedication man.
  16. I once saw someone jump off of a building in Tampa. Seriously!?...if you don't mind driving 30 minutes, ZHILLS is about the best dropzone on the southeast.
  17. I think there is a line or a number-box thing like in the deli.
  18. Jimmy, Hi. I'm a little confused. Are most of the people who had a cutaway but didn't ride a reserve alive or well-enough to respond to this survey?
  19. Thanks for spreading rumors, Jim. That's really shitty I think. The dropzone gave me a three month probation for being the subject of an argument and an altercation with another organizer. There are more details, but it really isn't necessary. I will tell you that I never hurt anyone in any way other than using curse words to tell the guy to get away from me. Since the managers and owners weren't there, they gave me a probation from organizing for a few months. Same thing happened to the other guy. Quite a good decision I thought. Let's leave it here please and start talking about how FUN THE BOOGIE IS GOING TO BE!!!
  20. I think that anything falling under the "jump" then "cutaway" category should count. That's jump out the door of an airplane that is flying, to.... (backflip), or (crew), or (mr.bill), or (freefly), or (4-way), or (tandem), or ...., (etc.). Otherwise, not everyone could participate. This should probably be an overall ratio in the end. Everyone always hypothesized the "every 300 jumps or so" people have a cutaway. It looks like that number may be a memory. We're ranging about 500 so far.
  21. Actually the score didn't change cause the number wasn't put at the bottom. Current is: 300 + 37683 = 37983 0 + 57 = 57 37983 / 57 = 666
  22. airtwardo and diablo are to blame. what's up with them ratios bros?
  23. Thought it would be cool to take an accurate cutaway to jump number poll for us here at DZ.COM. Please help us get an accurate ratio by adding your info. Steps are: Step 1. Add (Your total jump number) to the ("Total Jumps) in the post immediately before you. Step 2. Add (Your total cutaways) to the (Total Cutaways) in the post immediately before you. Step 3. Divide the two for the current average and write the current average Step 4. Help keep it going... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Jump Numbers = 5800 (my jumps) + 0 (total jumps of everyone so far) = 5800 Total Cutaways = 0 (my cutaways) + 0 (total cutaways of everyone so far) = 0 Jump / Cutaway Ratio So Far = 5800 / 0
