  6. Is your church anything like THIS ONE? > Today. Drudge JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A divorced Jacksonville woman said her former church has threatened to "go public with her sins" and tell the congregation about her sexual relationship with her new boyfriend. Rebecca Hancock said harassment from Grace Community Church in Mandarin over her sex life caused her to leave, but she said that didn't put an end to the problem. She said she received a letter from the church's elders telling her the church plans to make her personal life very public. "I'm basically run out. I'm the church harlot," Hancock said. The 49-year-old said she has been dating a man for a while and she said members of the congregation at Grace Community Church haven't been happy about the relationship. "Because I have a boyfriend that I'm involved with … to not be married to that person is a sin," Hancock said. She said the issue caused her to leave the church. However, she said the church has not let go of her. The letter Hancock received from the church states that because she has refused to end her sexual relationship with her boyfriend, "you leave us with no other choice but to carry out the commands of the Lord Jesus Christ" … "In accordance with Matthew 18:17 we intend to 'tell it to the church.'" "On January 4, my sins will be told to the church, publicly, with my children sitting in the church and my friends," Hancock said. The pastor of Grace Community Church, Dr. T. Scott Christmas, told Channel 4 he had no comment. Pastors with whom Channel 4 spoke on Monday said announcing a sin to a congregation is not abnormal. They said it's written in the Bible to punish sinners who continue to sin. The difference in Hancock's case is that she has left the church, and the pastors said that's is usually where punishment ends. Despite the church's letter stating its biblical backing, Hancock said she has backed out of the church and they should leave her alone because she is no longer a member. "I am a Christian, and that will never change. My relationship with Jesus has to do with me and Jesus, and he knows my heart," Hancock said. The book of Matthew does have three steps that the church talked about in taking action against a member who is in sin. Hancock said she is now attending a different church, and said she is planning to send a letter to Grace Community Church to make sure it's understood that she no longer a member." 17. Think these guys will just disappear or get a public hanging? Let's see how the new democracy works. No worries. 18. More detailed policy wonk briefs here. One specific example: historically, the National Security Agency (NSA) had manufactured secure microelectronics needed for sensitive applications across the US Government. As the pace of semiconductor innovation and commercial development—including foreign-based advancements—accelerated, a new and more efficient mechanism was needed. The NSA’s approach/solution was creation of the Trusted Access Program (TAP) and certification of trusted foundries for acquisition of integrated circuits for the DoD and the Intelligence Community. Through the TAP, a mechanism to guarantee access to trusted microelectronics technologies for critical defense and security system needs now and into the future has been created. The TAP program was initiated in response to concerns about the security of offshore manufacturing facilities. Without government intervention, there would be no trusted foundries. The increasingly globalized nature of innovation, development, and the market that characterizes technologically-driven business complicates manufacturing further. So what’s wrong with Thompson’s analysis? Do you think we should be concerned about the decline in manufacturing infrastructure and capability? What’s the solution? (Or do you think there isn’t a problem to begin with?) VR/Marg I've been watching it go down the tube for almost 30 yrs. now. Slowly but surely. I started my working days building ships for the USN then went to the oil fields and chemical plants, Martin Lockheed, AT&T, you name it. I thought because I was building infrastructure for this country I'd always have a job. IMO corp. greed is killing this country, I'm now building powerplants and casinos and thought I'd be good for awhile. Everbody needs electricity and some entertainment right. Wrong. Vegas is in shambles right now and nobody wants to fund the new powerhouses w/ the economy the way it is. And cheap labor is killing us. When the lights go out don't blame me. I do think this is a resiliant country and when people wake up and smell the coffee things may change. This current crisis is the wake up call I hope. I hope if and when things rebound it just won't be business as usual. I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
  19. No, they're meant to be followed as is; but they're only the first 10 Commandments. There are more. For example, Commandment # 24 is Thou shalt never, ever tell thy wife that her ass no longer looks quite as fat as it used to in those jeans. How about the commandments for SC? >Thou shalt include a clear and specific subject line. Thou shalt edit any quoted text down to the minimum thou needest. Thou shalt read thine own message thrice before thou sendest it. Thou shalt ponder how thy recipient might react to thy message. Thou shalt check thy spelling and thy grammar. Thou shalt not curse, flame, or USE ALL CAPS. And this is good for a laugh.> http://www.funnyhub.com/videos/pages/ten-commandments.html I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

  22. Doesn't seem like anything is going to happen in CA. The Republicans rejected Arnold's proposal for a near term hike in the sales tax or the restoration of the full vehicle tax (cut 75% at the beginning of the decade when the state was flush with cash). This NY proposal to hit niche products/services with taxes sounds much more difficult for business and people to handle than a broad sales tax increase. LOL. It's happening to me. Ca. sent me a letter saying I owe a 1000 bucks in back taxes and jacked it up to 2500 bucks because I didn't respond to a letter I NEVER RECIEVED. And trust me. Anald is figuring out way as I type to fuck the state. Mark my words. I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
  23. Cause nobody ever died in Iraq before we got there? I think the kurds would disagree. I still don't deny civilian deaths exist and are tragic. I'm just fucking tired of hearing the constant over statement of horrible things America has done. We didn't order the carpet bombing of a city, we didn't kill hundreds of thousands of innocent women and children, and we damn sure didn't cause all (and I would venture to say not even most) of the deaths on that site you posted. You'd rather blame us than the idiot strapping a bomb to his bike. If you think Iraq was all peace and love before we got there then pull the blanket back over your eyes and take a nap. So. Back to the bottom line. What fuckin business is it of ours what Saddamn did in his own country. And we were a a major supplier of his weapons when he was our puppet. Now we want the countries oil and invaded and killed LOTS of innocents under false pretenses. I am done w/ you. You are too brainwashed to argue w/. I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
  24. Holy sh*t batman! Let's review: First, a government spending plan that increases, is not a cut in anything. Second, hiking taxes up in a recession is down-right retarded and revenues will go down. Look at Michigan. Cut some f**k**g programs. It doesn't mean it's forever in the best case...if I'm a "rich" guy, I've already changed my residency and not buying sh*t while in NY... My bet Within 1 year. The rate of money coming in will go down significantly. Damn. Ya beat me to it. Cut some fucking programs> He is. A 3.3%, or $698 million, reduction in school aid. $3.5 billion in health care savings, including reductions in payments to hospitals and nursing homes. Video slot machines at Belmont Park, more multistate lottery games and expanded hours for the state's Quick Draw lottery game. Layoffs for 521 state workers and the elimination of seven state agencies. "This is where we are," Paterson told reporters. "Maybe we should have thought about this when we were depending on what we thought was inexhaustive collections of taxes from Wall Street - and now those taxes have fallen off a cliff." Paterson aides say the budget represents a net gain for New York City, but Mayor Bloomberg wasn't buying it. He said it could cost the city more than $1 billion, including a $600 million reduction in school aid. "I don't know that 100% of it is going to go the classroom, but a large percentage of any reduction we get from the state will go to the classroom," Bloomberg said. "That will mean larger class sizes and fewer services." I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
  25. Gov. Paterson really must be blind. This shit has to stop. I'm sure Ca. is next. This fuckin country is in ruins. http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/12/16/2008-12-16_gov_david_paterson_unveils_dire_new_york.html I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
