When I think back on the post's I dont know if I have done my instructer fair. I think it might be some frustration I have with not feeling like I am getting it entirely. I want to state that IT IS NOT a assault on the instructor just something that I noticed. I very much care for and Apreciate the help I am being given. And this all could have been one particular day and being busy. I still plan on Discussing it with him. Thx for all your help guys. Your GREAT. Sean

I fully Agree 100%. I think that is what has happend here.

I agree I think i will take your advice and the advice of others who have posted. I really love the sport so im not going to get discouraged by one person. I agree it is him. And i'll do everything in my power to be part of the solution. Thanks! Sean

Hey everyone I am curious I have an AFF teacher that is very harsh. I really like him but he hasn't once complimented me on anything i have done he has simply told me that i fucked up or what i need to work on. It gets discouraging because i feel like im never doing anything good enough or that im not going anywhere. TWICE I landed perfectly and gotten comments from other jumpers telling me that I did a great job on landing and canopy control. not once did the instructor mention or even take note. I guess its the positive reinforcement that is missing. I doubt there is anything I can do, but when I get off student status I plan on telling him. Oh yeah I already paid him. Anyways Any comments would be helpful. Thx guys and girls! Sean Culver

The reason i was curious is because it discussed usuing wieght to increase the speed in which you dive at. I remember those experiments and wondered if that would really effect the rate at which you decended. Anyways you all have been really helpful. I think now have a better understanding of the subject. Thx Sean

I am new to the sport and I am currently reading the book "skydivers handbook" In this book the author states that Weight and Drag are both Ratios that determine speed. I am confused I remember back in middleschool doing experiments while dropping two objects one extremely heavy and one that is light and both hitting the ground at the same time. Newtons law of gravity maybe... anyways it seems like that would apply towards skydiving as well which means weight is not a factor but simply the amount of surface area that the diver is. Anybody wanna clue me in? Thx Sean

Yeah i agree fully, This is by far the best skydiving website there is on the internet as well as community of helpful skydivers willing to put time into the development of newbies such as you and I. I have problems with relaxing and letting the air do the work and i get a bit jerky when in freefall controlling body flight. Any suggestions. Im getting used to the feeling, also I kinda move around when i exit the plane. Any thoughts? I try so hard to relax it just deosn't work hehe Lol (trying hard to relax) i think that is contradictory maybe that is my problem =D any advice will help Thx Sean

Hey Everyone! I love this site its amazing and everyone here is really awsome. Im 21 and goto Sou Southern Oregon University where I am trying to organize a club here to get more people interested in this sport. I am in love with the sport and plan on working hard to become good at it. I was wondering if anyone knew a good book / video that helps students become better flyers and overall better skydivers? I would apreciate any feedback. Thx alot Sean
