  1. I couldn't agree more. I have jumped with people who had 100 jumps who could teach people with 1,000 jumps a thing or two. Jump numbers is a very poor way to determine skill, but when talking about time in the air and experience, it usually gives you a good starting point.
  2. I change my vote to anyone who has under 300 jumps.
  3. Along the lines of the "Do you jump with low timers" thread, what do you consider to be a low timer in terms of jumps? I am curious, because I see see people with various jump numbers referring to others as low timers. I consider less than 200 jumps as to be a relatively low timer for jumps. Not in a negative way, but as in the stage of still a beginner in terms of experience. So, what do others think?
  4. I LOVE to jump with newer jumpers and pass along what I know. I try to do my best at making the effort to do so, but I know sometimes I do get caught up in working on my own skills, so I won't pretend that I am perfect, but I try. Still, one of my favorite things to do is jump with newer jumpers and teach.
  5. I know him really well, and I NEVER know what he is talking about!
  6. Beyond the education system, I think that the major problem and contributor to this lack of conversational and interaction skills is the fact that it is not "cool" right now to speak clearly, sit up straight, use correct vocabulary, dress neat, act educated, or even BE educated. There is a culture being intergrated into the younger population which says all of these things are "uncool."
  7. Well they also seem to like a thank you and a nice hug too!
  8. Best of luck with it. (I don't mean that in a smart ass way) Let us know what you think of it when you put some jumps on it. I would love to hear your comparisons to the Crossfire.
  9. I think the reason for getting so much shit for it is becuase he made an original thread about not knowing what to buy between the FX, VX and the Velocity. He wanted all the characteristics of each and what would be the BEST choice for loading heavier and wanting good dive and good bottom end lift. So everyone weighed in and the general concensous was that if you want bottom end lift at higher wingloadings, then the VX or Velocity was a better choice because the FX didn't "like" the heavier wingloadings. So it was debated and talked about and so on and so on. Then in the end, he says "I am going with the FX cuz I got a great deal on it." To each their own and I do think the FX is a great canopy with lots to offer, especially as a transition from non-crossbraced to crossbraced, but if you go through all the toruble to make an educated decision on canopy and then just buy the best deal, then I think it is a poor choice for a couple reasons. One is that the FX is not the best for this situation, and two, that making this decision based on price is never the best call. Just my opinions.
  10. I have been wanting to check out Tecumseh. That offer stand for me too? I would do a day of coaching for slots. Heck yeah, free jumps is all I need!
  11. Great job and congrats! You certainly made the right decision. That would not be the time to decide whether or not you think you could land with rears. You had a plan and didn't waste time. Good job!
  12. No.... That is what I am doing NOW.
  13. You bet I am! Busta move.
  14. Then I will make it an opinion. I think these are stupid statements. If one can find anything negative to say about something like this site and miss the point by that much, then I think it is stupid.
  15. These are pretty stupid statements. This is simply a way for people to feel good and positive as well as heal in a terrible time. It is a little like saying that a funeral is a waste of time just because it does nothing for the one who passed on. This site is a positive thing in a negative time and it helps people feel better. It is about saying we will not be afraid. I doubt it was intended to be viewed by the terrorists.
  16. Yeah, I don't really get that choice. If you want bottom end lift and you want to load heavy, then the FX is the poorest choice of the three. If you are just looking for some added performance at the 1.8 to 1.9 range, then the FX is a good choice, but once you go over 2.0, then I think it makes alot more sense to go with the VX or the Velocity. The FX will lose performance characteristics at 2.0 and above, while the VX and the Velocity will gain. Just my opinion.
  17. BOO!!! Scare ya? Ah shoot, I don't have anything to post, just wanted to give Andrea a (((((((((((HUG))))))))))))
  18. I was really disappointed too, cuz I was looking forward to something good from them. Shame they didn't deliver.
  19. You can go around the corner to pay the piper, but in the end, buzzards will circle the sky.
  20. Just kidding. Not a big fan. A couple sweet tracks but the rest seem stuck in the mud to me.
