I know with bonehead helmets, you are able to bake the helmet and mold it to your head, but i was wondering if anything was different with the havok. i have heard suggestions along the lines of removing the ratcheting face shield and plastic so that it doesn't melt. however, if i do this, the helmet might not fit the way it's supposed to when i mold it. any suggestions of experience would be appreciated. i was wondering if the whole face shield, chin cup, etc (everything that hinges down to make it a full face helmet) removes; which i think i have an answer for that...thanks!!! We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie

I have looked at many other posts to see if this was mentioned, but i could not find any; so send me off if someone knows of a post that discusses this. But does anyone know if the Havok's face shield can be removed completely, leaving you with a standard freefly helmet? Thanks for your input in advance We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie

I also have a 25" head, and i'm having a hell of a time finding a helmet. However, I've heard that bonehead makes their helmets on the larger size. You also might want to try out the Aviator in the extra large. The large almost fits me, so the xl might work out. Hope this helps We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie

Hey everyone. I know this is a serious newbie question, and there is probably a thread about this, but i can't find what I'm looking for. Are jump suits necessary? What advantages/disadvantages do they have? Just curious We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie

What are some of your Favorite Skydiving Dreams
ChunkyT replied to Casch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I had read this thread a while ago, and just last night i had a crazy dream. I was doing a night jump with a friend of mine (who does not skydive) and I checked my altimeter and reached to pull. But then for some reason, my friend yelled at me and told me to wait for his mark. He started a countdown from 5, and by 2 we bounced. This freaked me out, but then we both stood up and I said to him, "That was so reckless, I mean we should be dead. But this is my dream and I want to jump again." Hey everyone. Thanks for your help. I've already put down a deposit at Skydive New England, so I'll be sticking around that dz for most of this summer. And Matt, maybe I'll see you up there, just to put some faces to the screen names I've been typing to. Thanks again. Does anyone jumps at Skydive New England in Lebanon, Maine? I'm going to start making some training jumps up there this summer on June 13th (friday, hahaha). Just wondering how that dz is. Thanks, and I hope to meet anyone up there this summer. Chad, Boston, MA We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie

I could only wish my parents were supportive. I have been blabbering to them about jumping since I was 6 years old. Once I turned 18, they started throwing wrenches into my plans left and right. So I just took my money, and I'm doing it anyway, and now they seem pretty cool about it. My parents brag about it now too, pretty funny. Tell a girl skydiver how much she rocks
ChunkyT replied to Jessica's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Let me just say that females are awesome. That's right.....awesome. And that combined with skydiving is awesome^2. And I can't give enough respect to female skydivers who, most likely, a) are better than me, and b) have to put up with macho bullshit. Way to go girls. Thank you so much for the response. My friend and I will definitely contact his doctor about the strength of his spine. Just curious, were the para and quads jumping solo or tandem? Thanks again. Yeah, I could def see that as a problem. But that's really not the case. I'm just a really big guy. I can and am loosing some excess weight, but i'm in good health and the majority of my wieght comes from my bone structure and muscle. Thanks for all your help. I'm a freshman in college, and I'm attempting to get my AFF training this summer. However, my parents are still wedged far up my ass about the whole jumping out of planes thing. I also happen to be big boned, and my parents are fretting about my weight being too much for the chute I'll be piloting. The school I will be going to has a limit set at 225. If I weigh 225, since I'm at the maximum level, does this compromise my safety at all, or would it be better to be under a chute that has a higher weight rating for a student? I know it's a stupid question because I don't think the dz would put my health at risk, but if I can get a bunch of you guys and gals out there with experience with this stuff to respond, maybe I can wedge my parents out of my crack and start jumping. Thanks. Chad Boston, MA We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie

I know this question is probably the newby question of the year, but I keep hearing about containers that are minimizing or getting rid of all velcro. What are the disadvantages of having or not having velcro? We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie

Will do. There are tons of dz's around New England, so I shouldn't have trouble finding one that might be able to accommodate. Thank you for your help

Has anyone heard of or know of methods that would allow someone with a disability to skydive? My best friend has spinabifida and has limited control of his legs below his hips, and no feeling below the knees. If there's anything out there for him, please let me know, cause he needs to jump. Thanks Chad Boston, MA We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie

Well, that certainly makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the response. Chad, Boston, MA We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the Aerodyne Icon container. Looks pretty good, but I can't find any reviews or outside sources besides its website. Check it out: http://www.aerodyne-int.com/ Let me know what you think. Chad Boston, MA We are creatures of the air, Our roots in dreams And clouds, reborn In flight. -Salmon Rushdie
