  1. Ouch!!! I did, didn't I? Damn. I hate those guys!
  2. Credit given I was just talking about the last 20 years. I can't mention Auburn cuz their only National Title was back in 57. War Eagle Damnit!!!
  3. PLFKING was whoofing about the Big 10 in my “GAME DAY – WAR EAGLE” thread. I did a comparison with the SEC. From the other thread: Ok. Let's just consider the last 20 years intentionally leaving out Alabama's rein of terror where they won 12 National titles. I'll just mention 1 in this list. BIG 10 Ohio State (2002) Michigan (1997) Penn State (1986) SEC Louisiana State (2003) Tennessee (1998) Florida (1996) Alabama (1992) Let’s do the same with the Big 12. BIG 12 Colorado (1990) Oklahoma (1985 – 2000) Historical list of National Champions Hmmmmmmmm…………..
  4. One promotes a culture of life with responsibility (i.e. Pro-life). The other promotes a culture of death and irresponsibility (i.e. Pro-choice). It is misleading. There is always a choice. A person “chooses” to have sex with the possibility of pregnancy. That’s the case whether you’re “pro-life” or “pro-choice.” It should also be pointed out that the developing human didn’t get a choice in the matter.

  6. Yup... Spurrier should suck up some of our recruits from the region. Sucks. I enjoyed it while he was gone because he's just so damn good. But I also kind of liked having him around because I liked to watch him fly off the handle.
  7. Thanks man... Hardly nobody else in here will talk college football. I guess I just needed to vent. A lot of this thread is just me talking to myself. I've been to most of the Auburn games this year and am pretty into it. Hey, you can whup up on us next year! We should be pretty vulnerable. Jay
  8. If you want to be thought of as the "White Hats" then you have to behave as the "White Hats" behave. If you behave like the "Black Hats", then don't expect to be lauded as a "White Hat". Mine's green.
  9. I find myself these days writing posts in reponse to "America Hater" "Sideline Quarterback" ones such as this, hesitating, and then just deleting them.
  10. Uhmmm, so are you pro-choice or pro-life? I have been away a few days... Didn't even notice I did that Dekker!!!! Thanks for picking it up! PRO-CHOICE is what I meant to say.... I really hate the play on words. You can change one's perception of something based simply on the way you say what it is. The "pro-choice" position implies that there isn't freedom of "choice" otherwise. There is always a choice and a decision to be made even with the "pro-life" stance. "Pro-choice" just removes the personal responsibility for a new human life from the equation.
  11. Auburn dropped in the polls after the "rivalry" Auburn/Alabama game despite winning solid because it wasn't a blowout. USC plays their rivalry game against UCLA and the result was even closer. However, it doesn't phase them in the polls because the context of the type of game is taken into consideration. Why is it that an SEC team like Auburn seems to have a higher standard? While both USC and UO are playing unranked opponents, Auburn is defeating ranked teams such as Tennessee twice!
  12. Affirmative. Some people are able to make logical conclusions based on fasts and events. It also takes the ability to be biased and not a sheep to their party. Dude....
  13. I'm still fuming after listening to ESPN's comments. It really pisses me off. Does anyone look at strength of opponent? Anyone look at how many times Auburn has defeated teams in the top 10? Oklahoma beat the snot out of an unranked opponent. Everybody's oooing and ahhhhing over how they looked. Garanteed, they wouldn't look as pretty if they were playing somebody in the top 25. I mean, damn... Man, I'm more uptight about this than I was about the Presidential election.
  14. I've had that happen before. I think it had something to do with problems with my mouse driver. I could be wrong. It's been years. Maybe having some keys that stick on your keyboard would also produce that effect?
  15. Well, Auburn had a few sloppy plays but defeated Tennessee 38-28. Tennessee, however, was ranked 15 and played like a true SEC team. Hard as hell and never quit. The SEC is, no doubt, the best conference in the nation. USC almost got beat by unranked UCLA 29-24 (poor performance) and Oklahoma soundly defeated unranked Colorado 42-3. I mean....who the hell couldn't. Seems to be a trend with these two teams playing no-count opponents and retaining their lead over Auburn who is continually beating highly ranked teams. What a shame this system is! Looks like Auburn will go to the Sugar bowl and probably won't even get to play the next best team. Tennessee, however, was a victory to be proud of as they were a very worthy opponent. Great game! AUBURN TIGERS 2004 SEC CHAMPIONS In closing, I direct attention to my signature line below. WAR EAGLE!!!
  16. Why is that? You’ve only seen words that I’ve typed. Your only authentication is that others who personally know me have said I am who I am. You’ve never seen me or the physical hard disk on which this text file resides. Then it comes down to their credibility. SkymonkeyOne is my 1st Cousin, he knows me very well, and I think most here would trust him if he says who I am. Even if there was no original text file of my work and it had to be retrieved from a backup copy made by Sangiro. Granted, digital backups and duplication are incredibly more accurate and reliable than hand written copies. There is no disputing the fact that there are inaccuracies in the New Testament text due to this. However, taken “altogether”, it is much more accurate than many give it credit. The evidence simply does not show that the writers were untrustworthy, careless, or uneducated. Nor were the ones who originally copied it. Given the number of corroborating eye-witness records, there is certainly enough evidence for it to not be dismissed altogether. There was a man named Jesus who was tortured, crucified, and killed which was confirmed by a spear to the side, was buried and guarded in a tomb, and who rose from the dead three days later. He claimed to be God. He proved himself to be such. On a side note, there are no “original” works of Shakespeare, however most accept that the works we have are in fact his. It is probably in your “experience” as it has been in mine. Does this sound familiar? “Third, the notion that plays ascribed to Shakespeare were actually written by others (Sir Francis Bacon, the poet Phillip Sidney among the candidates) has become even weaker over time. The current strong consensus is that while Shakespeare may have collaborated with another Elizabethan playwright in at least one instance (probably with John Fletcher on The Two Noble Kinsman), and that one or two of his plays were completed by someone else (possibly Fletcher on an original or revised version of Henry VIII), the works ascribed to Shakespeare are his.” Shakespeare I think that everyone at some point in time seriously wonders what will happen to them when they die. What’s next beyond the great unknown? It can be a very scary thought. The idea still disturbs me because I really don’t like surprises. For most, it probably doesn’t start to really bother them until they get very old. Although, any one of us could die today jumping out of an airplane or even driving down the road. With me, it began when my Grandfather, whom I was very close to, died in 1995. The reality and fragility of my own mortality hit me right in the face due to my deep concern for his. I think that one of the reasons people are often so hostile to the idea that what’s written in the New Testament might be true is that it hits on the impending physical death that will visit us all. It’s easier to accept things written about less life critical topics. However, I think it foolish for one to dismiss it without careful consideration. I respect Zenister’s position even though I strongly disagree with it because it’s obvious that he’s taken the time to think deeply on the subject. That’s all anyone could ask. Edited to add: By the way, I'm leaving soon for the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. Time to put the "ass whoopidda" on Tennessee! Bring it suckas!!!
  17. Probably will be USC this year. Unless the Big Blue gets hold of their ass. All USC's got is the pass. Auburn can do both very well. Auburn's defense can shut USC down. Auburn's Jason Campbell, "Cadillac" Williams and Ronnie Brown can do the rest. That is, if the BCS wants to make it a real contest consisting of the 2 "best" teams in the nation. Probably won't happen though. It's quite a shame.
  18. This may be my last attempt at keeping this thread alive as Auburn might get "screwed" out of being allowed to play for the National Championship this year despite outperforming the team from Oklahoma who's in front of them right now. I'll be at the SEC Championship in Atlanta, GA tomorrow night. 6:00pm EST on CBS. Time to put the "ass-whoopidda" on Tennessee....again!!! For all who bleed orange and blue, one more WAR DAMN EAGLE!!! Bring the pain suckas!!!
  19. Man... I'm sorry to hear that. One of my Grandmothers died in a car accident.
  20. I believe Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence even though I wasn’t there to see it.
  21. You’re saying that a person would be willing to undergo torture, crucifixion, and death for something he “knew” to be false. All I’m trying to point out is that all of those who witnessed what Jesus did and died for it believed what they “saw.” Not what they were told. They were sincere in what they were spreading and were not doing it for the selfish reasons you’re stating. You’re examples of others dying for their causes aren’t the same. They didn’t actually witness their God perform a miracle such as Jesus did in front of thousands. Sure, they believe what they believe with all their hearts and some are willing to burn themselves to death. I seriously doubt, however, that they would do the same if they ”knew” that it was all false.
  22. Sure, but as Phelps said, why did they believe so fervently? Why were they all willing to die martyrs deaths themselves in the defense of what they thought to be true? It’s because they saw it happen. If they "knew it to be false" and were just starting a new religion or had selfish interests in mind, would they be willing to undergo torture and execution? That's way different from the terrorist homicide bombers in the Middle East. Sure, they're strapping bombs to themselves and blowing themselves and others up for something they “believe” to be true. However, if they knew it wasn't true, would they still do it? I seriously doubt it. And blowing yourself up goes a lot quicker and is a lot less painful than torture and crucifixion. There are also non-Christian, Roman, and Jewish records that describe the crucifixion of Jesus.
  23. Quotewell the disciples claimed such, of course outside their testimony there isnt much to back any of those assertions... and that story sells soooo much better than "he slipped in the tub"Quote Well...and there's just that guy Paul and the good doctor Luke.
  24. You know…I’d like to say I’d like to be remembered for my accomplishments and the things that I’ve acquired. As I get older and realize my mortality more and more, however, I find that all those selfish reasons for feeling self-important are all very trivial and unimportant. The only real accomplishment in life is passing love along to your spouse and children (or others). In the end, that will be all that’s left. You can’t take that Porsche and million dollars with you when you go. I’d sure like to take my new Mirage G-4 with me, though.
  25. Before bringing him down after having been crucified, he was speared in the side and bled out with the intent of finishing him off in case he wasn't already dead. He was then closely guarded by the highly disciplined Roman soldiers. It would have been a very bad political move on their part to either have left him with a chance of survival or to have his body stolen. The determination of death in this instance wouldn't have been a problem even for 1st Century medicine. Not a very obscure case here Bill. I might could see your case if he became ill with something most people die from and he was carried away to die or something and really didn't. Kind of like in the movie "The Princess Bride." [British accent] He's not dead...... He's only "mostly dead." [/British accent]
