  1. *** Maybe it's me, but I think you second guessed them and that's a bad, and potentially dangerous, habit to get in to. I didn't think of it that way. They were really super and I certainly wouldn't want them to think that I didn't trust their judgement. I was a bit upset with myself and that was all I could think of at the time. thanks for the heads up.
  2. [The fact that you remember so much of the jump is really really good. The main purpose off level 1 is to see if you have any awareness in the air. While you didn't react correctly, you reacted, and you remember what happened and what you were thinking. quote] thanks
  3. thanks jtval I really needed to hear that
  4. Hi all I have been bragging that I was going to do my AFF level one today so I( have to let you know how it went...and yes I sucked My jumpmasters wanted to pass me but I asked them to let me do level 1 over. because I got the hand signal for extend your legs mixed up with the one to check your are position and while they were trying to push my legs down I was busy trying to figure out what was wrong with my arm position the JM then assisted me in pulling. I didn't land where I was supposed to (my goggles fogged for a bit and I couldnt see well anyone have suggestions about what to do about this) but they directed me to land a little away at the landing strip and I landed okay, but I tumbled just a bit. I cant believe I sucked so bad because I was sure I would do well. I really want to go on with my training but am hoping that I'm not wrong about my abilities to do this. I just can't bear the thought of not ever realizing my dreams. I want to be a skydiver so bad. sorry I know I am rambling a bit, but I am fluctuating between wishing I could kick my own ass and thinking maybe it wasn't that bad, but either way I feel more comfortable doing level 1 over.
  5. Cool shirt I want one either way. Louder colors would give it more flash tho. I like the idea of paying a bit more to get one customized with your name..I would pay the extra.
  6. Hi sue good luck on the rest of your AFF. I start mine in less than a week, I have butterflies already -Blue Skies
  7. Pull? now is that the do hickey on my side or the big metal do hickey on my chest???
  8. I am getting ready to start my AFF in about a week but I am confused on a few things maybe someone here can set me straight. according to my literature AFF is a seven stage progression...That means 7 jumps if I get everything right, is that right? and after I finish AFF will I have my license?
  9. Hi sounds like your having the time of your life. Welcome to the addiction -Blue Skies
  10. glad to hear from you Robin, Welcome -Blue Skies
  11. I know how you feel, 1 jump and I was stone cold addicted. It's all I can talk or think about most of the time. My friends and co workers are probably ready to throw me out of a plane without a parachute by now Blue Skies

  14. Welcome to the addiction *** The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live." -Joan Borysenko
  15. Hi there, welcome to the forums and to skydiving. I am new to skydiving too. I have taken a tandem and will start my AFF classes in 10 days.(I can hardly wait). One thing I have learned is that this is a great place to get information and support. Hope to see you around, im me if you ever want to talk of if your ever in town (Atlanta). Luck in life and Blue Skies forever!
  16. Quote If you see others opening there chutes in free fall and you are new you should probably pull. Hi I am new to skydiving, but have been buzzing around the forums for months now, I find you can get all kinds of advice here and people are usually really nice, even with my stupid questions Thank you for sharing a few tips with me, will try to remember to PULL!!! lol leave it to me to get caught up in the freefall. Luck in life and Blue skies forever
  17. Quote Your profile lists you as a student. Most people won't train you on the board until you have a few hundred jumps and can fly a controlled stand, among other things. So for now, I suggest you just jump your ass off, pay attention to the smarties at your DZ and here on the DZ.com and get some time under your belt.] yes, will only begin classes in three weeks (waiting till I can pay it all up front and get in as many jump as soon as I can) I know thinking of skysurfing at this point is jumping the gun quite a bit but I tend to set my goals high then try to catch up lol. I would love having a skydiving chick to talk to every once in a while, especially a skysurfer chick. All my friends and family are about sure I have lost my mind. which of course may be true but what the hell I have never done anything in my life that even comes close to comparing to skydiving. I also have to say thanks to all you old hands out there who take the time to answer the post of us newbies. I have found that I can come here and ask almost anything about skydiving and get good solid answers. Thats valuable to those of us new to the sport...Kudos
  18. Thanks julesUK lots of cool info there sounds llike it will be a blast just learning the stuff I need to know before I even get started with a board! Life is what you make of it......so DO SOMETHING!
  19. Does anyone here know much about sky surfing or were there is a good place in or around Georgia to learn it. It is one of the main reasons I wanted to take up skydiving. I saw some sky surfing pics of Viviane Wegrath and I decided that that is what I want to do. I know I have a long way to go....but I am determined to get there.
  20. cool...didn't know I could do 2 or 3 jumps at once is student status, sounds like a good idea though. but being a newbie to the sport there is a lot I don't know, but am learning. I really want to go on with AFF and think I might just go tandem this weekend just so I can get back in the sky (not sure I can wait a few more weeks, I think I feel an addiction building lol) then start my AFF in a few weeks.
  21. Good to know the chest strap thing only happens in tandem was really worring over that part.
  22. Does anyone have any opinions as to weather it is better to start off with AFF level 1 or Tamdem progression. I wanted to start AFF 1 to begin with but as the lessons are expensive if I start Tandem progression I can begin right away and if I start AFF 1 I will have to wait a few weeks I have only done 1 tandem jump....but cant wait to get back up there. It's all I can think of. I am also conserned that because I am top heavy when I did my tandem I ended up with the chest strap as a chin strap. Made me worry about being able to move freely to check my canopy or whatever. Any advice about this (other that breast reduction which my husband is dead set against.)
