Pieces of eight is all amputee group of skydivers. some missing arm, some leg some two legs..but no ones missing any humor. check these out. http://www.parachutehistory.com/skydive/records/poe.html http://www.lightdiver.com/2001/011118.htm/ http://www.lightdiver.com/2004/041024.htm/ http://www.skydiveperris.com/...iveb.asp?f=2001_1118 http://www.skydiveperris.com/...iveb.asp?f=2001_1117

record is 14 way. we were trying for 17 way, but could only seem to build to 13 way on just about every jump. we had few people low or just about to take thier slot, but not in those last few feet at break off. formation is hard to fly with everyone missing few digits, and some leg amputees don't get that much forward movement with their legs etc. but all in all we had fun. Jim you should have been in Perris California the 3rd weekend of October. There were 17 of us amputee skydivers getting together for fun jumps. modern parachutes come down so softly its like jumping off a curb. so you won't have to worry about your prosthesics limbs. you would however have to get quite few jumps in to be able to jump alone.. and jumping like your talking about.. jumping in.. hiking out, well as someone said that'd be quit a hike with parachute etc too.. and you should jump with a buddy. What you going do if you get hurt landing?? I broke my wrist in 2002 after landing a stand up landing I took one step stepped into a snake hole and put my hand out to stop my fall.. broke damn wrist instead! if you want to learn to skydive.. it's doable. see these links: http://www.skyxtreme.com/archive/october2000/index_eng.html mike

sucks doesn't it? some co-workers just can't take a joke. I'm in a Union job.. and Union would have that taken care of and removed from your file. either that or the crew would ban together and do a work slow down..they'll get message. our crew sticks together. too bad you don't have a Union job.

I just bought a 2005 VW Jetta TDI new "pump duse" diesel its a little 1.9 liter tubro disel, but don't let that little engine fool you.. its fast and I get 39mpg around town with a lead foot at that too and I always hit 48 or better on highways. diesel engines will last much longer than gasoline engines too.. if you do oil / filter changes on schedule.

I made my first jump the staff didn't know what to do with me deaf student.. so they said wait for DZO who would be in a few minutes and ask him. Well DZO remember me from few weeks ealier when I stopped for fuel on one of my cross country legs for my pilots license. He said he fly's airplanes, let him jump. but we did split up the class I went one on one with another instructor while rest of class had group class. for canopy contol we had big orange arrow 30 feet long that they moved to have me follow and red road flags like highway workers use to warn traffic to tell me when to flare. also John King of Finger Lakes skydivers has had many first jump deaf students the National Techincal inst of deaf , one of 9 colleges of RIT we've had about 20 deaf students at time and we lucky enough to get serveral interpiters from the school too.

some SR-71 pilots are rumored to have ejected at speeds of Mach 3 at 80,000 feet. This is a ground speed of around 2000 miles per hour, yet due to the thinner atmosphere at that altitude, the speed is closer to 400 KEAS. That is more like a 460 miles per hour. read thi F-15 ejection. Not fun. http://www.ejectionsite.com/insaddle/insaddle.htm mike

I don't see how it would hurt it or anything.. just dip the 2/3 handle that is exposed not the half that hold the handle in pocket.. you can maske it off with tape. it'll put tough rubbized coating on metal like pliers etc have on them
-
Nancy at jumpshack took me on tour of their shop and jumpshack makes and test's their own pins. It was intresting to watch them being made. it was loud when they were being swagged, but i'm deaf.. didn't bother me a bit.
-
you can make your own. I'm assuming you have the silver handle cutaway handle like reserve handle and not soft pillow type velcro handle. they sell can's in hardware stores for coating tools like pliers handles , screwdrivers used in electrical work etc you can get them in many colors, dip the handle in and hand it up to dry makes nice rubberized coating on handle in color of your choice. pick color that easy to see and not the same color of your jump suit

Tom Dolphin is owner of DZ at lexiungton MO. I haven't jumped there since the early 80's.. I can't say I've ever heard him rude.. usually a nice guy.. maybe you misinterpited his jokes? Then again.. I've seen lot female student that are slow on climb outs...we used to start climb out bit early on some student to make up for it.. so we'd get good spot.. instead of long spot..
