  6. Jan. 23-27, 2006 From: The Museum of Tolerance www.wiesenthal.com No Name-Calling Week is an annual week of educational activities aimed at ending name-calling of all kinds and providing young people with the tools and inspiration to eliminate bullying in their communities. As a national partner, the Museum of Tolerance is commemorating No Name Calling Week through a dedicated lobby installation, special speakers, and free materials for teachers, students and families.
  7. I stretch alot, even while doing little things, tieing shoes, etc. Also, sit up straight, improves posture. Basically alot of little loosening arms excercises, neck and breath (exale using stomach muscles, hard to explain) Not to mention just plain old work related stuff. Since getting back into a Combat TKD & Hapkido classes, I try to make lots of little things an excercise and/or a stretch..
  8. A market researcher called at a house and his knock was answered by a young woman with three small children running around her. He asked her if she minded replying to his questions and she agreed. He asked her if she knew his company,Cheeseborough-Ponds. When she said no, he mentioned that among their many products was Vaseline and she certainly knew of that product. When asked if she used it, the answer was "Yes." Asked how she used it, she said, "To assist sexual intercourse." The interviewer was amazed. He said, "I always ask that question because everyone uses our product and they always say they use it for the child's bicycle chain, or the gate hinge; but I know that most use it for sexual intercourse. Since you've been so frank, could you tell me exactly how you use it?" "Yes, we put it on the doorknob to keep the kids out."
  9. Can't believe I am still looking for this answer! haha I found some more stuff relating to question: "I don't remember which show, but one of the other Krofft shows once had H.R. as a guest star. They were all caught by the villainess (ever notice the large number of "wicked witch" types on the Krofft shows?), who announced her intent to cook and eat them all. The one line that sticks out in my mind today when I think of Pufnstuf is him saying: "Madame, I object. You can't cook a mayor!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the topic "What does H.R. stand for?" >From mwg@garnet.msen.com (Michael W. Gardiner) His Reptilness? :-) >From dvandom@magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu (Dave Van Domelen) In Ye Olde Days, the post of mayor was minor nobility in many areas, and titles like Lord Mayor were not uncommon. H.R. may stand for one of these titles, like His Regal/Royal, or Honorable Regent or so forth.
  10. I don't think it was ever explained.. Ya got me looking for it too! haha Here's all I found: H.R. Pufnstuf introduced the Kroffts' most-used plot scenario, revolving around a boy ("Jimmy", played by Jack Wild) who had accidentally stumbled into an alternate fantasy world. The leader of the community of this world was a friendly dragon named H.R. Pufnstuf (played by Van Snowden and voiced by Lennie Weinrib, who also wrote the episodes)
  11. You can always push start a standard (popping the clutch) and transmissions (repair, etc) is cheaper than automatic transmissions. However, clutch will wear out in time.
  12. Your post made me think of this song. Please don't bury me Down in that cold cold ground No, I'd druther have "em" cut me up And pass me all around Throw my brain in a hurricane And the blind can have my eyes And the deaf can take both of my ears If they don't mind the size Give my stomach to Milwaukee If they run out of beer Put my socks in a cedar box Just get "em" out of here Venus de Milo can have my arms Look out! I've got your nose Sell my heart to the junkman And give my love to Rose Repeat Chorus Give my feet to the footloose Careless, fancy free Give my knees to the needy Don't pull that stuff on me Hand me down my walking cane It's a sin to tell a lie Send my mouth way down south And kiss my ass goodbye - JOHN PRINE
  13. That's along time! I have always been impressed with people who don't drink, never haved drink, etc. Just wanted to add the following to this thread without making a new one. California autoclub DUI stuff. I thought it may be a good reminder what will happen if one gets arrested. You Drink. You Drive. You Lose. The costs related to a first-time misdemeanor conviction for driving under the influence (DUI) can easily exceed $12,000 (see below). The good news is that current laws, enforcement and education efforts have substantially reduced the number of alcohol-related fatalities and injuries by more than 50% in California since 1982. The Auto Club believes that awareness through education and information about the consequences of drinking and driving leads to life-saving choices for all motorists, their passengers and families. This information is provided as a community service from the Auto Club and is part of its ongoing awareness program to help prevent drinking and driving. The costs listed below do not include: Value of lost work time and wages. Medical costs. Vehicle property damage. Cost of ignition interlock device if required by judge. Other court-imposed fines and fees. Estimated Costs for a first misdemeanor DUI conviction in California Fines (minimum) $ 468 Penalties (minimum) ** $ 780 Tow/Impound Fee $ 187 Alcohol Education Class $ 500 Auto Insurance Increase * $ 7,300 Restitution Fund $ 100 Attorney and Legal Fees (fees will vary) $ 2,500 DMV license reissue fee $ 125 Booking, fingerprinting and photo fee $ 156 Total $12,116 * Based on premium increases over six years for a male motorist with 10 years driving experience. ** Penalties vary by county from $663 to $858. The most typical cost is $780.

  15. I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round apart from the veneration due to its sacred name and origin, if anything belonging to it can be apart from that--as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time. - Charles Dickens I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. - Charles Dickens It is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas when its mighty Founder was a child Himself. - Charles Dickens I'm gone for rest of the year, here.!
