  1. Thanks for the comments everybody :), The one thing I don't understand is why velcroless is more prone to a premature release?, Seems to me that velcro is a lot easier to release prematurely since it just peels off while the other system is stuck on two ends.
  2. Which do you prefer?, Seems to me that the velcroless toggles require considerable more force to release and sometimes one releases before the other one putting me in a spin, anybody else with this problem?, never had that happen with velcro.
  3. I had a premature 2 jumps ago at around 8k with some rented student gear, even though I made sure that the pilot chute was secure enough, I guess it wasn't... Lesson learned:. don't freefly with student gear... I forgot to add that the premature was hard enough that it ripped the pilot chute along with the bag from the top of the canopy.
  4. Dotster all the way!!!
  5. Man, the Sunset FF 8way pic kicks ass. Very inspiring... Nice
  6. Colors suck and it doesn't fit like a glove. I seen the infinitys and they look pretty hot, way cheaper then the mirages and just as good for FF I think... I think I made my decision :)
  7. Which one would you pick? The mirage has 30 jumps and DOM is Sept 02 with full options, unisyn, etc...for the same price I could get a brand new Infinity with all options and sized to fit. I been doing some research and I really can't find any pros or cons with either container, only that a brand new mirage is $1495 +++ and I can't figure out why.
  8. Boiler Room, you got it 185699 is just my uspa# till I get my A in the mail.
  9. One of my favorites, Do whatever. Get a "yes" out of them. If you were drowning, and I threw you a life-jacket, would you take it? "Yes". Good, buy 200 shares, I won't let you down.
  10. Hey thanks, Yeah, I'll be asking the instructors too and actually John LeBlanc who is going to be at Elsinore tonight. I was hoping that maybe somebody has gone through the same when purchasing the first rig and would have first hand experience :)
  11. Hi, I want to demo a sabre 2 since I have found a great deal for my first rig/canopy at a decent price. So far only have 27 jumps and have used student gear, just jumped a rental PD210 3 times last week, on my first jump on the 210 I flared to high because I wasn't expecting the speed increase (a few scars to show for it), especially coming from jumping 260's student gear, my other 2 jumps where perfect standup landing and I seemed to have found the right amount of flare. Question is, do you think this would be a safe canopy for just 27 jumps?, My wingloading on it would be 1.13 assuming I have 25 pounds of gear, What I mean is just how forgiven would this canopy be? since I'm bound to make some beginer mistakes. Thanks for the help :)
  12. Thank you very much for the advice, it would be cool if there was a website where you could just enter the serial number of the rig and find out the info. hint, hint
  13. When purchasing used gear, How do you find out if the gear has been stolen if you have the serial number? Do companies keep a record of reports?
  14. Not sure if this is the problem but I been noticing that since I don't look back anymore my linetwist problems have stopped, what I do now is count 1-2-3-4 not under canopy = problem Would this be a good approach?
  15. Thanks dude, Yeah, I'll be packing ....
  16. Finally got my A last monday!, I'm stoked
  17. Sound Forge for the sound and Flash MX
  18. I just got a proditter and a protrack but both of them are just audibles as far as i know you cannot put them on a wrist mount. Are most people getting the neptune to be used as a regular wrist mounted alti?

  20. Ok, now I did my hop and pop. missing 2 coach dives a packing class 3 more target landings, oral quiz and that sweet A License is mine :) P.S. Thanks for all the help man :)
  21. Hey A12, Actually I just got signed over to solos myself last weekend. My first solo jump made me nervous, I kept doing checks of 3's the whole way up over and over, then I jumped and didn't do anything, just stayed in a relaxed arch the whole way and for the first time my skydive felt like it took hours, I just chilled, looked around and took some deep breaths, I came down from that jump and went right up for another one but this time around I was practicing 360's backflips and tracking, much, much better... I still get anxiety, but it's interesting how the second you get out that door it just goes away as the adrenaline kicks in :)
