Hey, you are still the valedictorian of your class last weekend! Way cool... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Looking up into the sky as the camera pulls back upward to show the range of the scream spreading around the planet, "NOOOoooooooooooooooo!" People are gonna get the idea I can do more than hover above a 4-way. We don't want any of that. Thought you wanted to "be like Mike" (McGowen). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Demo school photos HERE. Jim's a great motivator and teacher. Plan now for -next- year's demo school, if you want to pursue your rating. This is the second year I've had the privilege of doing video for Jim's school. I'll probably be there next year too. And Deuce, I'll search in my archives just for you... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Start a search like the one HERE. For the record, I started with a hand switch, then converted to a Conceptus bite switch. The bite switch was good but I found too much movement with my daBomb helmet with every frame I took. Then tried the tongue switch. It works great! The Conceptus newest model gives good feedback with every input. You -know- when you've taken a frame. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yep, that was it. Finished formatting my new toy and transferring the video and other media files to it. Works like a champ! Thanks everyone for your help. Hope to return the favor some day. :^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Then from quade (who also uses a Maxtor external 60GB HD): AndyMan....quade and I have the same OS on our computers. Is there any reason that you can add to this why I shouldn't load an OS on the external? How do you format a HD if you don't load an OS? (not a geek...sorry) ;^) ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Thanks, Murray. I've browsed through that MacJanitor page, but haven't read it through yet. Been busy with other issues as well this week. I'll take your suggestion and download it this weekend. Nope, haven't done that yet either. Still researching out the facts of whether to run the default system on that HD, or erase it and download my own OS. What do you think? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Agreed! Would LOVE to attend another World Meet...as a competitor this time around! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Interesting. I leave my computer on all the time, but have it go to sleep after an hour of unconnected and inactive periods. Would this have an impact like your describing? However, I tried to use iMovie3 right after downloading it, and it took over 2 minutes to load (and every time after that took just as long), it corrupted a stored project that I had done in iMovie2, and wouldn't unload the trash formerly there. I'll look at the web page you provided. Hope to find some answers there as well. But if not, do you think that Apple will rerelease iMovie3 with a more stable version? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Imagine my complete surprise when a brand new Maxtor 3000DV 60GB HD arrived at my doorstep today! A wonderful gift from a dear friend who wanted to celebrate my birthday.

I'm using a Power Mac G4 867 tower with 1.2 Gigs of RAM. Also a 15" Flatpanel display. I reloaded iMovie2 and am now a bit skittish about downloading iMovie3 again. I'll look at Paul's suggestions and see if they can help. Why doesn't Apple release something better than a BETA version? Why all the needs to 'fix' what they've released? Why follow in Microsoft's footsteps? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Apple must have updated it's first release of iMovie3 this week. When I downloaded the update -last- week the whole program sucked! Big Time! Slow start times, hiccuping audio sound, inability to clear iMovie's trash...to name just a few. Did you get your iMovie3 as an update, or did you buy it as a whole package from Apple? What's the difference between what you got and what others have experienced? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Get the additional HD. I've had my G4 for only one year, have just one project on it at this time, and have most of my 60 GB HD used up. I'm investing in a 2nd HD right now....maybe a 3rd. (ain't it great that the Super G4 tower comes with 4 (internal) HD bays? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Fitness and Skydiving project

That's the ticket....the 'average' skydiver shows just an...well...an 'average' conditioned backside. While those who have this as more of a lifestyle show their 'fitness' even under those wonderful and fitted jumpsuits. btw, the best conditioning contraction is only in 7 second intervals. The more repetitions done, the more firmness is gained. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

Airport Security and your locked Stuff...
ltdiver replied to ltdiver's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It would have been fine if Ontario had let me even reapply a cable tie. However, even if I had given it to them with one on, they would have cut it and wouldn't have replaced it. Sounds like Tampa has the same hang-up. Wish all security check points were as gracious as what we found at LAX that one day. Hey, at least Portland secured my unlocked suitcase with a cable tie....even though I wasn't around. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Airport Security and your locked Stuff...

Portland did this for me. However, Ontario did not. They cut my lock and then left it that way for transport. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Cross Posted in General Skydiving Discussion. Had the opportunity to travel a bit this past weekend. From CA to OR and back. I experienced 3 different scenerios with checked luggage going through the new security machines. 1) Ontario, CA : Checked baggage goes through the x-ray machine and disappears from view. If your bag passes, you hear your named called and that it's 'clear'. Next time you see it is at your destination. If they find something, then they call you back for interrogation. If locks are present, they are cut and discarded. 2) Portland, OR: You can witness your luggage going through the x-ray machine and can be present when it is inspected. Nice, especially if you want to keep tabs on what they are doing to your stuff. The best, however: 3) LAX: You can witness your luggage going through the machine. They will open and inspect it. However, at least with this particular inspector, they will let you lock your bag after inspection and will tag it with a sticker saying it's ok. Nice for those who want to check their camera equipment or rigs. Any other International airport experiences? I carry my rig and camera helmet on the plane with me, but others might not... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Had 7 skunks under my parent's house way back when. My dad went to the local ranger station where they convinced him that a 'special' live trap's slanted door would keep the skunk's tail down where he couldn't spray. NOT! Wow, did the house (and car) smell for weeks! Note...if it's a skunk and gets to spraying, get a little produce called "Super CD". Only a few drops takes the skunk smell out of anything... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
