I was quite surprised to see a whole formation above him..... But it's a sharp picture! Ciels- Michele That was a good one!!! But just remember that JT's skills at funneling a formation is what helped chase "airweenie" away.....

That is some funny shit!!! Glad you made it home.

I agree that something needs to be done, but I don't have the answer either. The problem I see with your proposal is that we don't even have a standard of measurement for canopies, so how do you accurately measure wingloading? A 150 from one manufacturer is closer to a 170 but from another is closer to a 135. I recall a discussion about canopy sizing before. I think that the answer is in better education. I know that when I went through AFF less than 2 years ago, very little was discussed about canopy control.

I have about 30 jumps on my cobalt 150 and I don't open in a track and I love the openings. I have done 4 hop & pops with it and can say that it does not have two stage openings in that situation. It did take a while to open, but wasn't bad at all, and no line twists either. At first it took a few pack jobs to get it to have the two stage openings, but now all is good. If you are getting good openings with the way you are packing it, I would say don't worry about hop & pops.

I e-mailed them today and if I don't hear from them or have a canopy waiting for me when I get home from work tomarrow, I will be giving them an earful. I have heard both good and bad about Atair on these forums, so I am not too sure about them as a company. Hopefully they will get their act together before they piss too many people off. It's too bad too, because I really do like their canopies but the service so far sucks.

I e-mailed them and was promised delivery today, so I took their word for it and didn't ask for a tracking number. Yeah, me too! I am sure it will all be fine when it finally arrives. Hopefully tomarrow....

Thanks, just rub salt in the wound, LOL! I guess I am just lucky.
-
I understand all that, which is why I didn't make too much of a fuss about it, but i got an e-mail from them on Tuesday and they promised delivery today. I just feel like they lied to me. I guess I should have requested a tracking number. (making another mental note)

Yeah, I was thinking that too. Hindsight is 20/20 ....

I would like to hear about others experiences with Atair. I ordered a custom Cobalt back in feb. and almost three months later i still have no canopy. I have been in contact with them and I was promised delivery today, and guess what, still nothing. The original ship date was April 4th. Is this a common practice. I paid for it in full at the time I placed the order, so now I have no other choice but to wait. If anyone has had a similar experience, I would like to hear from you.

Wing Loading Restrictions? (Skydive Kansas)
FlyGuy replied to weavermc's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
---> I believe hook was referring to skydive las vegas, who has instituted a rule that if you were not trained there, you cannot jump there. Roy If that is the case then that should be stated clearly. There are other dropzones here in the Las Vegas area that should not be receiving the bad rap of another DZO. There are other dropzones that are not that way here and they are trying to build the sport, so open ended statements should not be made that could be detrimental to them. Although they are not Perris or SD Arizona class DZ's they are still fun places to jump and have some cool people that are helpful and accomadating to funjumpers. -
Wing Loading Restrictions? (Skydive Kansas)
FlyGuy replied to weavermc's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Sounds like a NV DZ tactic to keep fun jumpers away.*** What is this supposed to mean? Don't make statements like this if you don't know what you are talking about. -
I am so glad that my name starts with....you guessed it, a "k".
-
met JT and Flyguy (whos name should be Firestarter) *** Firestarter? What is taht supposed to mean? Anyways, thanks for the jumps. Had a great weekend. Weekend numbers go like this 1:7:a few 1 awesome roadtrip to Perris and Elsinore with JT, 7 cool jumps and a few good beers... Got to meet "the rack" and got to play in the industrial haze that threatened to ruin the day in So. Cal. Thanks to all the cool poeple I met this weekend and hope to see you again in May
-
Hey, count me in. That sounds like a great weekend!!!

Then you wouldn't have to show her the door in the morning....Oh s#%t, did I say that out loud
-
That's gotta hurt!!
-
Wow, what a coincidence. My number is also 9. I think that this is another one of those no win situations like " do these jeans make my ass look fat?" You don't want to hear the truth but you don't want us to lie, and if we really did tell the truth you wouldn't believe us anyway....Women???
-
Damn now you are twice as bad. To that I have to say F*&K YOU and F*%K You too!
-
ROFLMAO!!! Fuck you JT!!! Hey this is kinda fun....
-
I would just like to add my .02 to this thread. I know of 2 dzs that are located right next door to a police substation and people still come to jump and have fun. Why, because we have nothing to hide.... just a thought, but how many of us would want to participate on a say 16 way if we knew a couple of the people on it were smoking pot earlier that day? In my opinion a dz is not a place to be doing that. I think we should ALL be pissed at the fool who is jepardizing or dz/boogie/sport by doing such a stupid thing.
