Damn it and I didn't even get to see any ass.,..... guess I'm just going to have to get hook to take his pants off. *snap fingers* darn

the funny thing is.....I am 6'4" and 205. So I just had to bite the bullet so to speak. The good thing is that I can't take anyone over 240. However, since I am big, I always get stuck with the huge pieces of "meat". The little guys are afraid to take to 200+ pounders. lol Gotta earn a buck however you can I guess. hehehe..I saw video of a TI who's ~5'4 taking a big guy (something like your size) on a tandem out of a skyvan. The tandem student stood up and walked out the back of the plane, in the video you see the TI's legs dangling off the floor. Fly it like you stole it!

To take that one step further......I would say that instead of the medium sized passengers...they should take passengers that are just a little bit smaller or the same size, but definitely not larger than they are. I know some pretty small TIs. I know of several TIs who have done just that. When they 1st started out put a max weight limit of something like 170 then worked thier way up to 200. I know TIs who won't take anyone over 200lbs, and I know ones who will. *shrug* Fly it like you stole it!

Hmmm....looks like it's time for the zipties and concrete blocks. *evilgrin* Fly it like you stole it!

Maybe think of it this way. There are different kind of tracking that you do. Tracking dive tracking, birdman tracking, and tracking away from a formation. Tracking dives - are about flying in the tracking possition relative to the person leading. Rarely is this the flatest track possible, I know for me it is far from it. So I would call this just plain old tracking Then there is tracking away from a formation, which involves getting as flate as you can to get as much distance which is dictated on your body possition and build. I would call this flat tracking. Fly it like you stole it!

chin wacked with loose chest strap-
skycat replied to smiles's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Actually it does help, since the laterals can't creap around the front bringing the sides of the leg straps with them, so on opening you can't "sit down" like she is in that last picture. It also helps prevent the rig from sliding around on your back. Trust me on this, I did student status with a J7 with 19 inch MLW, if this helped this problem and several others for me and every other girl who has tried it, I bet it will help her out a lot. Now if only it would have fixed the issue of the Yoke being so wide it slipped off my shoulders in freefall and especially tracking. The real fix is a rig that fits, but when that isn't an option little fixes can make a difference. edited to add pic of sitting position. Fly it like you stole it! -
The people who owned my cat before me let him outside all the time and he always wants to go out. So I made him a deal, I put up garden fencing around my patio railing so he can't get off it, and he is allowed to go out when ever he wants.

It's kind of hard to tell from the pics but it looks like your leg straps might have moved down your legs a bit (the sitting pic). He is a small girl trick that works for trying to make student gear fit. Tie your leg straps together with a pull-up cord at your crotch. (see picture) After they are tied together just push the knot and excess under on of the legstraps. The rig I have on is Derek's 2nd rig which is a J4 with a 20 inch MLW, I wear a 15 inch MLW, but as you can see the pull up cord does help the legstraps stay in place. Fly it like you stole it! -
May you and your rig have a happy engagement and a long marriage. Fly it like you stole it!

Just used May as a date, since as slow as they have been with everything (we found out in Oct. he was accepted), that for them to finish it could take awhile. Nope I'm getting my riggers ticket cause I'm always being asked rigging stuff and when the person doesn't like my answer they will say "I'll go ask a rigger" then go to Derek and ask him the same thing, he will give them the same answer, and they will accept that just cause he is a rigger so I figure I might as well get that little piece of paper that says I am one too. Plus it's really hard to not learn about rigging when there some going on every day in your living room. Also, after seeing all the stuff that have come out of other local lofts lately, I'm scared if I ever have to find another rigger. Fly it like you stole it!

A cobalt is sensitive to harness imput even at 1:1 which is what I jumped one at. 90% of beginners have issues with leaning in the harness and trying to reach down with a hand or a leg. The sensitivity of the canopy does not make it good for beginners who are still learning body awareness on opening and on landing. Even the 120 I jumped, spun up on me after the 1st stage, I never had this problem with stilettos or crossfires. You told me that I need to be loading it higher at 1.2:1 which would put me on a 105 would fix all those problems. From what I have experienced jumping other ellipticals the canopy gets even more sensitive the higher in wingloading you go. I even know of one girl who took your advice (she said she actually talked to you) and jumped a cobalt at 1.3:1 and her 3rd landing dislocated her elbow due to reaching as she flared and her canopy turned her into the ground. The cobalt is a fun elliptical even at light loadings, the things that make it a fun elliptical does not make a good beginner canopy.

One of my best friends in Houston has a cat that gets pissed if you leave him out of the rotation. He will sit on her lap hitting her in the chest until she gives him some. Fly it like you stole it!

From what I've seen of pilots is they pick up the basics faster than your average student. They understand flying a pattern, how to set up into the wind and they tend to get the flare dialed in faster. Beyond that each one is different, and the same things that affect what other jumpers decide to jump are the same. How current they are, how athletic they are, their exit weight, and natural talent. Yep he is jumping today....isn't it beautiful out. We are just waiting for the background check to be completed. He has passed everything else with flying colors. So we should know something by May. So I need to hurry up and go take my rigging tests so I don't have to worry about getting a repack from these riggers around here. Fly it like you stole it!

No doubt about it! Billdamnitvonnovack is the most interesting character, contributes a wealth of information to us and deserving of the title. Bets...I like Bill "BDSM" Von Novack better Fly it like you stole it!

Did you need a repack sometime soon..... Kelli Fly it like you stole it!

Someone did that to fox...it was really funny till they realized she couldn't swim. As her ass was heading to the bottom, Moma was to the rescue, luckly I was only 3 feet away. Fly it like you stole it!

Only question....did you have riser inserts? If not, will this incident cause you to re-think not having them and get some? Fly it like you stole it!

If you get skydiving there is an article in it this month on tracking. Fly it like you stole it!
