  1. Like 'em a lot, don't love 'em. I reserve that for Jimi Hendrix.
  2. I have that, in Sig P229. Not too many people do. As far as fireworks, going to the DZ party and letting the kids light all the fuzes. I'll stand back and hold their beers.
  3. I'm surprised the author didn't note that the motto on Virginia's flag, sic semper tyrannis, were the words John Wilkes Booth yelled to the crowd after shooting President Lincoln. But I'm sure it's just a coincidence.
  4. All 5 jumpers and the pilot stayed with the plane.
  5. Well, if you only have one jump in 6 years, you should pick the one with the best student program.
  6. I bring her up from time to time on here. But sorry guys, she likes the ladies. Well, tell her "hi" from all of us anyway.
  7. Interesting take on the situation. Thanks for the perspective.
  8. I didn't make it past 20 seconds.
  9. Hopefully all that will be accepted as the smoking gun.
  10. Damn, not the first time? Sounds like keyless ignition systems may cause a little confusion for some. I've driven rental cars with that set up and didn't have trouble, but still . . .
  11. You've got control now. Relax. It's like riding a bicycle. Now you know how to do it. Have fun on your next jump. The rocking back and forth? Relax a little and let your chest sink into freefall. Rocking usually comes from too much pressure downward with the hands and trying to sit up in freefall.
  12. You may be right. I hope not. But even so, I do hope this costs him time, money, and aggravation. Maybe he might experience an epiphany.
  13. Steve Wiley is a friend and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He and his wife are long time contributors to the Leap for Lupus Foundation. Today he presented Vskydiver and me with an almost $1,000 donation to the LFL. As always, Valinda and I are proud to say that every penny will go directly to Lupus medical research. Thanks, Steve!
  14. My tunnel instructors would vote "NO!" Or sending one back to the bowling alley (or golf course). I've seen quite a few people scare themselves out of the sport. Some I thought could have stayed and learned. Some I was really glad they got out alive.
  15. If not these people, I'm sure many @$$hats truly feel they are victims like that. That's the great thing about video. The One Eye that don't lie.
  16. Saving that and sending it to my local windtunnel.
  17. now that sounds like fun Being a young dumb kid I thought it was great, but some of the older jumpers were a little pissed off.
  18. I throw my vote in with you on video #2. You're above the canopy, pulling positive G's and rotating around your direction of flight, which is basically horizontal? Barrel roll.
  19. Which is a Class 3 misdemeanor in Colorado. Now we're no longer in traffic court. I had a legal joke for you but couldn't PM. Shoot me an email address.
  20. I was thinking of that EXACT video while on my approach under canopy. I took a very controlled, conservative "demo" type of approach, mostly just to not worry the blimp folks. Hopefully at my experience level I can do that safely.
  21. I don't know where you get all these but they're pretty damn funny. Keep 'em coming.
  22. I did go land over by them and chatted for a few minutes, but I didn't ask about jumping out of it. I did talk to them about how it flew, wind limits, logistics, things like that. Very interesting aircraft. They told me their getting a new one built by a German company, vectored thrust, more modern, etc.
