  1. I am looking for former Southern Illinois University Skydiving Club members. I would like to have a reunion later in the spring. Please post or email me at tweb80@hotmail.com if you have any info. Thanks and blue skies.
  2. I say that it is worth driving to Morris and having Farmer pack it. He is one of the best riggers around.
  3. Another one I thought of is West Tennesee Skydiving. It is Mike Mullin's dropzone. It is on the web at http://www.skydivekingair.com/tennessee/.
  4. I think we should come up with a list of all the non-uspa dropzones in the country just so we all know about if when we're traveling. I'll start: I jump at Southeast Missouri Skydiving Club in Charleston, MO. It is on the web at www.semoskydiving.com.
  5. Here is the plan. We are going to get a new dz.com record, because there are just too many of us gonna be there that it would be crazy not to. So I suggest we all meet at noon on Saturday somewhere on the DZ. I have never been there, so someone else should decide where we meet. Sound good???
  6. A bunch of us from the Southern Illinois University Skydiving Club will be there... -Tony
  7. You got a good deal. Sunshine Factory is the cheapest for $240 and that is only if you ask for that low price.
  8. I got 193...not bad for a poor college student...

    Bad Weather

Put someone on a creeper and set up some lawn chairs like bowling pins. See where I am going with this?
  10. He is fine, just has to get these bandages changed like every day...more of a pain in the ass than anything. As far as the safety officer thing goes, he'll probably keep it cause it wasn't skydiving related and he is probably the safest skydiver we have in the club. Its just when the beer light goes on, everything changes. Oh well...it was a blast other than that!
  11. Anyone at the Zhills new years party get video of the dude who fell in the fire? It was my buddy who fell in, and we are making a video of our entire trip including collegiates and it would be cool to have that included. He is gonna be just fine...at least now he knows the fire is hot. Thanks for any help!
  12. I'll be there with our 4-way team as well from Southern Illinois University...The "Dawg Droppings." Can't wait to get out of this cold midwestern weather. See ya all there!
  13. Lake Wales it is for me the 27th-2
  14. We will be out there for Southern Illinois University...The "Dawg Droppings," our 4-way and a sport accuracy and a regular accuracy. Can't wait to meet everyone and have a safe, fun, time!
  15. For the hands I recommend getting a cheap pair of cotton strech gloves from walmart for like 50 cents. Then you put batting gloves or neoprene on top of that. The inside cotton liner works wonders.
  16. I heard that you should use baby powder. Baking Soda is bad because it is a base and your canopy is an acidy material...or maybe its the other way around...

    Wanting to fly

Yea, my buddy let me take off his tomahawk and he didn't touch a thing. It was awesome and I wish I could afford another hobby.
  18. I know that this question was just in Skydiving Magazine, but I would like to hear some more input. Why do you choose the dropzone you do? I'll go first...I think the overall attitude is the most important. The pricing doesn't do much for me because a jump is ten times better if you are in good spirits.
  19. I saw a rig where the 3-ring assmebly was upside down. The rings were pressed up against the person. Has anyone ever heard of this? It just didn't look right...I mean how could you get a good 3-ring check?
  20. Does anyone know where I can find info on launching a canopy off of a 250 foot cliff???
  21. You have your options in Chicago...I think that Skydive Chicago is the place if you are looking for a fast paced, upbeat environment with all different types of people, but I think Skydive Illinois is better because of the more friendly atmosphere. Skydive Illinois is a pretty big DZ, but the attitude is more of that in a smaller DZ. Both DZs have the planes. SDC with three super otters in the summer and SDI with a super otter and a king air...I guess it just depends on what you are looking for...
  22. Is there a DZ close to South Padre Island, TX? I am trying to plan my spring break and was curious. Thanks.
  23. I saw a rig where the 3 ring assembly was backwards. The three rings were turned around. Is that right?
  24. My buddy just got a Skytronic FX and he likes it. You can get one for $175 at www.unfeathered.com on special right now. The only thing you have to make sure is that it will fit in your helmet.
  25. Anyone gonna be at Skydive Chicago this weekend? They have ten dollar jumps Friday-Sunday w/o registration. I'll be on break from school and in the area. Maybe we could get a DZ.com-way...
