i was still on AFP status when going up for jump # 3 of the day, or something like that. my jump master Chris Miller got me to the door, and i checked at the door and i counted "ready, set GO!" Chris left on the count, and i didn't. for some odd reason, i held onto the bar of the otter door, who knows why. i finally jump (fall) out back to prop and i think, "well i'm on a sky dive on my own for the first time." i carry on with the planned sky dive until Chris finally tracks to me, and he's pissed. i pull at 4500 agl, land, gather up my gear thinking i had a way kewel sky dive! i take my gear into the packing area, go to the jump master's loft for de-briefing. Chris asked me "so how would you rate that sky dive?" i said "on a 1-10, i'd say a 6" he said "well it was a fu*$ing 3" he was hot! he said "i had to track like a mother fu**er just to get to you" then i had to watch the video he shot, he tortured me by rewinding it at least 4 or 5 times scolding me each time. i was WAY glad to get out of the jump master's loft that particular day. Chris Miller is still "the best damn dive master" i've ever met! thanks Chris, for all you've done for sky divers like me. a dive doesn't go by where i don't remember some of your training, even my first cut-away, i remember hearing your instructions, that's how fast it really happens! --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

she has my sympathy therein lies the answer. good point! i was actually saved by a seat belt once. and as i drive the busy roads, i utilize this extra piece of safety equipment, well because i think it's safer, and because it will cost $165.00 USD for NOT wearing one in the states, texas anyway. so you'll either "buckle up, or get wrote up" the troopers have no sense of humor! that's really not true, just before coming to saudi the 23rd of last month i got stopped going 165 mph in a 70 mph limit, and the trooper let me go with a warning for not having a front license plate...go figure!

i don't snore, but my wife...sheesh! she kills me. to "train" her with some "sleeping manners" i started waking her up completely when she would wake me up, so this kind of caused some problems at first, but she soon caught on. she only snores if she sleeps on her back, so i make sure she's turned on her side before she goes to sleep. she's got a great gift, she can sleep anywhere, anytime and pass smooth out after only 2 seconds of her head hitting the pillow, me, i go to sleep slowly, and am a light sleeper. her snoring has caused many a late night fuss! in the beginning i just used to hit the couch, but i got to thinking, she's snoring, why should i leave my own bed?? but other than that, she's a wonderful lass! --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

jump # 475 cut-away and deployed reserve. pd-193 perfect deployment, great landing, but a slow canopy ride, which is probably a good thing since i was mad when i deployed it. (mad at the line twists on my Cobalt 170^2) my main was new, and i wasn't wild about it floating through the sky like it was, but a very nice female sky diver followed all my equipment down and landed off to be by it...thanks! arch, pull YEAH! the real fun begins at deployment time! --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

valid point, and legally correct. "grandstanding" and delaying court dates are a "standard" in the DA's offices everywhere in the country. i also think that if a crime is non-violent, why should it be a felony? this is b.s. now she has community service to deal with, and pay back the store (big deal) and a record that will haunt her the rest of her life. i guess she stole the stuff, haven't been following the story, but i do know the crime has long since passed the court date. the fact of the matter is she is basically a good person, she just made a misstake. who of us here has never made a misstake?
