in each of the 18 points you brought up i would rely on my training. i was fortunate enough to have some of the best. i like to think that our instructors and coaches are integral enough to do the right thing all of the time. i have witnessed major violations at one dz in particular, i haven't been there since no matter how big a "country club" it is. i will not fly, or sky dive under any but the most compliant of circumstances. i make it my business to research a dz before i jump there. most dzo's try to do the right thing, until it's $$$ over lives clouding their vision. but being informed makes a huge difference in the safety of our sport. this is an excellent post as it brought more than one thing to my attention i haven't been watching for. thanks! --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

that made me suspecious was a picture of pre and post Elizabeth Smart. of course when she was abducted she was 7-8 months younger, so the pictures were quite contrasting, that said, what "rasied my red flag" was the picture taken of her just yesterday, she was smiling from ear to ear as if nothing had ever happened, no facial emotion even remotely portrayed of physical or emotional distress. this probably means nothing, but it's a simple observation. also, she claims to have heard her name called out by search parties while she was in a tent, and being in the tent by herself. i'm her, by myself, ungaurded i'm "bustin' a move" and getting out of dodge! i reiterate the fact i'm glad she's been returned safely under whatever the circumstances may be.

this is rumour now, not fact..YET. so bear this in mind. i was having a conversation with "someone in the know" just this evening, i was advised we have spotted trucks in the oilfields of iraq today. (via U-2) there are suggestions that C-4 is being placed on the iraqi oil wells today. the "new plan" is to place explosives on the wells that will not only blow the "X-Trees" off, but will destroy the integrity of the casing down to 200' so as to make salvage next to impossible. again, this is speculative for now, but i do know technology does exists to achieve such an objective, and i also know for fact that oilfield firefighting specialists are planning for such activities and every imageanable well destruction scenario. how bad do we want this? this would be FUBAR to say the least. and this sadaam fella is just the egomaniac to "pull the trigger" on his own wells. last time they were relatively easy to put out, this time, it won't be so easy. i think they learned from they're last attempts how to make the destruction of wells more effective. --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
