how about this, top 10 pilots, who dont go pro and stay in the cpc for the second year, run 5 ft gates and still acru points, if they qualify for finals, they run 5ft gates. if they get top 10 again for the second year in a row, 2nd year on 5 footers, then they get there pro card handed to them.

maybe have us run 5 ft gates, but still able to acrue points to go to finals. I could understand that.

Its competition, thats what happens. If Im to good to be in the cpc, then give me my pro card, I will gladly take it. otherwise, im in the CPC. per the rules. you will only gain from competing with someone who is better, or someone who challenges you. I dont have the funds to travel to the meets to compete against the peeps I would like to compete against. I got my ass handed to me, and got better. learned alot. now it is my turn to hand some ass to you

so, I take it that Im not going to be a cpc competitor, or a "pro" competitor "unless I run a qualifier course? thats fuckin bullshit. I will be at as many of the southeast CPC meets I can be at this year. Just because I want to compete. so I will see ya soon. the rules say, top 10 from last year, must run a qualifier to go pro, or get first to get automatic pro card. or go back into the cpc. Im not in this to get a pro card, Im in it for the competition. if we are "too good" to be in the cpc, then I need my pro card handed to me, that means Im qualified. so why run a "qualifier?"

If I dont do the CPC this year then I dont compete. that is stupid. I agree the rules should be changed, but there isnt any change, and this will bring one. it doesnt maximize any performance though, just increased visibility. it takes less time to cut away a slider and stuff it in your pants or shirt, than it does to coloapse and then stow it on your rig. although it is one extra step in packing.

im not sure what kind of lines are on it, but some lines that manufacturers are using shrink after 50-100 jumps. so your brakes may be set loose to compensate for this,which in turn can slow your openings and possibly cause this. if your still having an issue after 100 jumps and it is bothersome to you, you can speed the openings up a bit by moving the eyelet in your brakes setting up the line an inch or so, this will speed the opening a bit and reduce this problem. if one inch doesn't do it, go two inches. before you try any of this talk with the manufacturer first. also talk with a master rigger about it.

do you know why people use it? have you tried one? Im willing to bet if you tried one you would change your mind. It isnt needed for anyone. it makes removing your bag and pilot chute easier though. but once you use it by itself, you wont go back. they are awesome. and they make the vx open better also. everyone needs visibility.

you sure those arent brass? what kind of lines are those? it kinda looks like that is burnt in there. I have no idea. maybe there is alot of friction from those lines and it did that over time. if that is even possible. I dont know.

since your asking about ground launching it, go to www.canopypiloting.com and ask about it.. as for landing on rears, if you can pull them down to flare, you should try to land with them. it is just another control input. and it is easier than you think. talk with someone around your DZ about landing with rears. try it coming straight in. only after you try it up high.

I told my employer during my interview that I jumped and that I compete and will need random dates off for it. they hired me on the spot. but I also have skills in a field where it is hard, VERY hard for the employer to find someone like me, so if they didn't hire me, there competitor across the street would have. so for me it is kind of different. come to find out later, that my boss has done a few tandem jumps and so has his wife.

when you have alot of drag, say on your legs and you try to spread your legs out to fall slower, you cant get them out as much, due to the force, as you can when you have a less baggy suit. with less drag, you can use your body more to fly.

To answer the original question, if oil prices become $100 a barrel you can count on around $5 per gallon gas. This equates to about a $3 increase in jump prices. It's capitalism guys! Charge what the market will bare..and Caveat Emptor!
