  7. mel, his question was in response to spazz's removable post... well the diff. is the rings the, sturdyness of the slider and it is removable. from what i can see...
  8. what a great sunset. and clouds. kinda like last year. only a little closer...
  9. he is safe.... best update your going to get..
  10. i thought this was good advice.. take it or leave it.
  11. if you like the way it opens dont change a thing... i for one cannot stand it when one side inflates before the other. this has got to be one of my biggest pet peeves.. if i had not fixed the problem with my removable slider, joe and mel would have moved my brake settings for me. no questions asked.. if you like it the way it opens fine, keep it... if you dont, there is a cure for it.... i was in that conversation also, and nobody said p.d. came up with this or that they recomend it.. of course they dont recomend it. it isnt there factory setting... but that doesnt make it perfect... i like the way they open better when the brake lines are changed.. unless i didnt have a problem in the first place.. i would trust what mel tells you, he isnt going to steer you wrong. but you should also trust p.d. and if your not having one side inflate before the other then you have nothing to worry about... not all the canopies do it.... and dont give that body position crap... it has nothing to do with why one side inflates before the other...
  12. VRW!!!! make it happen please!
  13. so, when you movin to the atl fool?... pm me, if your thinkin about it.....
  14. but angela, you would have to question the fact. "why did it take so long to get stable?".... it would be lack of experience...... just be careful, and whatever your decision is, don't let the ego get in the way.
  15. demo, an 84 velo. loaded at 2.0-2.1 you will get what your looking for. hell, if you are around, you can try mine.
  16. you might like the velo then, you dont have to load it alot to like it. and it wont feel mushy. a vx wants to be loaded a little more. but doesnt feel mushy. a xaos, feels mushy to me unless i load it alot.
  17. You forgot "If you want to compete and win try the velocity" you fly a velo, where is the win? absolutely, there is benefits to each.
  18. nice. after 100 jumps or so, strap on 10 pounds of weight. see how it flies then. you wont even need to downsize. then strap on a litle more lead after 2-300 jumps on it. and you wil be lovin it more... take your time, your under a canopy that will perform VERY well. and as your experiance grows, add a little weight. by 750 jumps you will be ripiun it up nder that thing....
  19. if you want openings like the crossfire, go with the xaos, if you want to possibly compete with it. go with the vx, vx fly's very similar to the crossfire, exept for riser pressure and openings. if you want to try somthing else, try the velo. but ya, there might be somthing coming in a few weeks.. i would say a couple to 6 months. but we shall see...
  20. well i dont know of anyone that has come up with some model. but think of it this way, your wing, "whatever it is" creates lift with airspeed, the more airspeed it creates, the more lift generated, now if the canopy is at a higher angle of attack, usually it will have a longer recovery arc. so it would take more speed to generate the lift to the point where you could go horizontal without input. now a canopy that has a lower angle of attack can still do some of the same things but the arc is shorter. so not as much speed is needed. and if you generate too much speed it might start to get so much lift that it begins to gain altitude from all the lift generated from the extra speed. i think it would be dificult to come up with a model unless there was ALOT more fixed variables. but then again. i dont do physics... i wouldnt hold your breath for a definate answer. for swooping? for accuracy? for speed? for distance? for aff's? for tandam? im assuming swooping so i will have to guess a longer arc is better, only because that is what were using now. not because of some model. but that is what is best for right now. a long recovery arc, but im sure there is a point where it is too long. it wouldnt be real without it... hahaha look, no jokes before your answer
