  1. 1.Go back and reread my post.I said nothing about anyone packing a rig with no rubber bands.Someone was being responsable and replaced the rubber bands and packed the rig.As for putting a few line twist in someones lines I may have been ok with that if it stopped there, but it didn't.At what point would be too far for you? 2.Glad you found it. 3.I should not be put in a position of needing to talk to anyone about something like this.I know most of them don't come here.I was not posting this to "teach anyone a lesson".I post this so I could vent and decuss it with like minded people. 4.I stand by what I have done.Does everyone else? 5.I don't think now is the time for me to be looking to see if I'm on the silly side. 6.I think there was a misunderstanding about one point (the d-bag)and I left a few things out. Tara I am very angry about being put in a position of needing to either confront a group of friends about something like this or vent to another group of friends. .
  2. First off what part of what I posted is not true. Second I posted no names or where I was. Third I was not in a frame of mind to confront a group like that nor should I have to. Forth your post just reinforced everything I posted to begin with. I know I've made people mad and maybe lost some friends. If that is the case than maybe we must ask who really caused this. Edit to add:If everyone there thinks this is ok no one should care if it is posted here. Another edit:What possible reason would I have for spreading this "gossip"?? .
  3. Damn I'm glad avitars are small. .
  4. I'm glad I saw this post I was about to get mad. .
  5. Go to this website http://www.929dave.fm/survey/default.asp?QC=1 and vote for the band Golden. They are trying to win a slot at a music festival. One of the band members is a jumper from Atlanta. .
  6. I want it all!!!Time is boring if you don't have any money. .
  7. Looks like you should know your events a little better before you start compairing.Let me answer your questions so it doesn't look like you and Jay are getting into a pissing contest.Does Skyfest have: -Free Bands-yes -Free Beer-yes,served in bottles and cans not solo cups -Swoop Pond-yes -Organizing and planned events-yes -The Perris Jet-After the historyand controversy surronding the jet I would not talk about that until there are jumpers walking up the steps -Registration-Cheaper,as it should be for a shorter event.I still think a daily rate is a better idea.I spent $70 to be at the WFFC for two days last year. -Vendors-yes,check the website -Free camping-yes -Huge landing area-yes,it's Texas -Pickup from off landing-yes -Free Showers-I don't know.I had a hotel room -Awsome people and boogie-yes Now since you felt compelled to try to show all of the things you thought Skyfest didn't have,I was only able to attend the WFFC for the first weekend last year. While I was there The DC-3 was not there, the Sikorsky was not there, the Bi-plane was not there and the Pac-750 was not there.Maybe you can see why I think a daily registration was in order. If you want to grow an event do it by making it better not by trying to show what someone else doesn't have because they might just one up you next year.If you have the greatest place to be you don't have to worry about what is going on down the street or half way across the country. Before everyone starts raising hell go back and read my original post. .
  8. I put a Mini-Maglite on at least one wrist. It will light up your canopy like a hot air balloon when you are holding your toggles.Great for letting people see you also. .
  9. How about we have a Miss White America. How long do you think that would last? .
  10. I'm with you on this Rich. But I think the point to be made here is the gear was not in anyones way.It should not have been touched.I hope these folks will go to the owners and apologize.Oh and Rich,Someone did what you said to one rig. They put all the rubber bands that had been cut off the D-bag back on and packed the rig. There has to be a line somewhere. The experienced jumpers show the new jumpers what is alright. If this is alright now who is to say that the next guy might think it is funny to screw with someones cut away cables or stuff a hacky up in the pocket or maybe someone pisses someone off and you pull their cut away during a skydive. There has to be a line somewhere and I draw it at screwing with someones gear. .
  11. I love those people. The ones who come from an office with ten orders and everyone wants the exact change. If I go to pick up your food I pay for the whole order and you get back change as close to exact as I can get. .
  12. I don't want to know why you have penis pics to work with in photo shop. .
  13. Oh and I remember a time not so long ago when I would leave all of my gear, camera gear included,in the hanger and go home for the night. Now that we have people giving reasons, were the rigs in the way? Were they hampering the party activities? Not a single one of those people would appreciate being "taught a lesson" by having their gear fucked with. .
  14. I talked to a couple of the perpetrators. They claimed they were teaching the person a lesson (not to leave gear out overnight.) But my point was that there are better ways to make that point. I.E. pack the parachute as if you were going to jump it place it on the gear rack & do not tell the owner who packed it. Then they will have to unpack before re-packing. I agree with you. It was poor judgment by a group of people who should know better then to screw with someones gear(fixed it for you). How do I get the job of lesson giver?I think I could have fun with that for a week or two. .
  15. Damn I miss out on all the fun stuff. .
  16. It doesn't matter where it happened. It's a problem we all have wherever you jump.Touching someone elses gear without being asked by the owner of the gear is a no no.I don't care how funny you think it is.And before anyone tells me to lighten up,how would you like it if someone you know goes in the morning after you were fucking with their gear and there were a dozen people that saw you touching it.I know there is funny stuff, like messing up a pack job that is ready to go in the bag but what I'm talking about is beyond that. And while we are talking about respect, what the hell is so hard about going to the trash can with an empty beer bottle on the way to get the next one?If your mama don't work at your DZ clean up after your damn self.Do you think having to pay someone to cleanup after your slack ass helps or hurts the cost of a lift ticket??? I know I am going to catch shit about this thread but since when has that stopped me.There are people at DZs all over that need to either some some maturity or some self restraint. .
  17. How about "Wish I Could Fly" .
  18. Because there are alot of people out there that think they have skills as opposed to actually possessing any.
