  1. You're right. Close the door next time or step up to the plate and host the event yourself. This is a non issue that is not effecting anyone as far as we know.
  2. Towards the fucking legal fees you fucking.... post edited to remove PA
  3. Is that the best you got??? Fuck, come back in a year... if you're still around. I've seen skydive fucking groupies come up with better then this.
  4. That is usually how it goes. The rest of you, well,I pretty much expected this.
  5. As I respect your opinion, I would like to hear you comment on when the time comes when a company like Red Bull takes over nationals. How do you think that will go. I'm really surprised that has not happened yet.
  6. First of all my mention of charging more instead of this sponsorship thing is just a hypothetical. Second,we have no idea when this became a policy. We only know when it was posted here. Third, if we don't stop busting everyones balls that try to do things within our sport we are going to run out of people to bid on things like nationals, Or, we will end up with only companies like Red bull willing to step up to the plate. If you think it's bad now just wait till that happens. I could probably put together a venue to do something like this but I can't afford to loose money to do it.After a thread like this I wouldn't dream of it.
  7. With me it ranks right up there with pointing out a spelling/grammar error or a typo.
  8. This is laughable. People gripping because the DZ built new hangers and you think nationals are paying for it. I would be willing to bet that Spaceland would make more on a regular weekend of tandems then they will off of nationals. Really people you all should do some research and see what all is involved in hosting this event. I bet some of you think that Skyfest paid for the runway paving there.
  9. Let me try this from another point. What if it was either this, charge everyone more to attend or cancel nationals. Which would you complain less about?
  10. Your statement and what you quoted make no sense. Do you have another user name that rants about world record demos?
  11. To be precise, its not the winds aloft that determine the required separation, its the difference between the wind at exit altitude and the winds at opening altitude that determines separation. Umm..no..it doesn't. After the exit seperation, the difference in freefall times and the distance covered because of wind drift during that time determaines separation.
  12. The wind does effect the groups the same. It's the total time in freefall that is different. because the belly flyers are in freefall longer they will drift farther. There were some drawings here somewhere if someone can find them.
  13. Seems as though you just have a problem with the DZ or event organizer coming out right side up. There are already DZs that have hosted nationals that will never do it again. We don't need that list to get very long. I am interested to know how many people here doing the complaining have actually been to nationals and seen for themselves what it takes to host it.
  14. so if there is no wind, what determines seperation? same as above. If there is no wind it doesn't matter who goes first as long as exit separation is sufficient. We stick to belly fliers first because there are few times when there is actually no wind. Now,if you really want to get into a discussion we'll throw in a day when the winds aloft are running opposite directions at different altitudes. Bottom line, you don't want to rely on the difference in forward throw to insure separation.
  15. And if the dz cut cost and amenities everyone would be bitching about that.
  16. You are incorrect. Time/distance between exit and time in freefall drifting with the winds aloft determines separation. The difference in throw between a belly group and FF group does not amount to a hill of beans. Edit to add the word distance because time between exits will differ with winds alot
  17. Tell her the globe was stolen. If she notices the broom has moved tell her you used it to chase away the intruder.
  18. I was trying to make it to the keys but no one wants to split the gas.
  19. Nothing on my end. I'm having my event the same weekend I have for the last 7 yrs. It's the others that you can never fucking tell.
  20. I've had an event on the third weekend of March for 7 yrs. What is so hard about that? That is all.
  21. I do agree that if they had to pay for a spot to put their tent they should be able to have whatever they want on it(within reason). However,I also understand where this came from. It came from vendors and manufacturers that don't want to spend a dime on an event but then show up and try to take over the show. While I understand what they are trying to do.I think it is going to make for a fucked up,cheap looking area with logos covered. I think if there was space set aside for a team tent then it should be left alone. I don't thing that sponsors, vendors or manufacturers should be aloud to just come in and put up what ever they want if they didn't pay for the space.
  22. What a bunch of bull shit. You should come to the states and run for president. Just fucking tell people you don't have time for them and go on hauling the tandems. I know we fucked you 4 times already but come on back,we wouldn't do that again. In your defense, this guy should have seen the writing on the wall with the attitude of your staff.
  23. We got a team room in '03 at Lake Wales. It was an empty room. I don't remember what we paid. Bottom line, most teams don't have a team room and if you don't like the price you hang out where everyone else does. I don't have a Porsche because I can't afford one. I don't go to the Porsche web sites to complain about it.
