  1. I turned up to the airfield last week (sept 20th) and although it was very early (7:30am) me and the people that had come with me were greeted with a very warm welcome, after several hours of waiting for the weather to clear my 2 year old niece was becoming restless and bored, luckily one of the staff members asked us if we wanted to take on to the plane to get some pictures, it kept her entertained and gave us something to do... unfortunately the staff there don¡¦t have control over the weather so we had to rearrange the jump due to fog and a heap of clouds... so fast forward a week and we hit yesterday Sunday 28th... I¡¦ve never been in a plane before, the highest I¡¦ve ever been is a 100ft so you can imagine how terrified I was.. the staff were still very happy to come and sit with us and have a chat, which helped keep my nerves down... as soon as I got in the plane the fear hit me like brick in the face! But before I had a chance to leg it we were speeding down the runway.. I had a camera woman in front of me and my camera man opposite me, the camera woman really did help me calm down, to say I¡¦ve never been so scared in my life is an understatement (first time in a plane) she kept me focused, talked me though everything and in a sense helped me have a lath.... the view from up there really did take my breath away.. something I¡¦ll never forget! Just before we hit the 10.000ft mark she talked me though what was about to happen, just like what the guy I was strapped to was doing, she and the my instructor blocked me from being able to see the first jumper leave to help keep my nerves at ease (thank god!) she gave me a quick hand shake then my instructor edged me to the door... In short although the first couple of seconds were TERRIFYING, and the amount of ¡§choice¡¨ words that left my mouth must have hit the hundreds... once I opened my eyes... I was stunned, I didn¡¦t really feel like I was falling and although I was falling at 130mph I felt incredible! I already have plans to go back and do it again and really would recommend anyone that hasn¡¦t tried it to just DO IT! I¡¦m WAS terrified of heights and never even been close to a plane before... I did... that means YOU can too!!!!! ƒº
