I just wondered... would it be useless to have a fake rig on your back while in the tunnel? I mean to get a more realistic flow and stuff, without having the risk of a real canopy popping out. I have seen pictures of rigs modified for tunnel use. Modified so that no items can come loose and damage the fans, and so that they no longer appear to be skyworthy gear. My short experience, 40 min, in the tunnel leads me to believe that training with a rig in the tunnel would benifit the highly advanced fliers. any input from the tunnel folks here? Are you talking about 'intro. to freeflying' type coaching or have you started freeflying already? There will be plenty of folks who can help get you started. I dont want to get too in depth here, but if it truely is your first time to freefly, I think it would be helpful to talk to a few people about gear, safety, techniques, etc. Oh, and you'd bring beer too! Hint how I knew: the tractor in it a brand my Co handles. . i'm not completely discrediting the fact that i'm sure there is some set up.. but the fact that you knew the outcome doesn't mean it's staged.. they do tape these things way before airing them.. and they look for a certain type of person, to make the show interesting... so it's possible someone just leaked the end result meh. True. Im just so tired of all these crappy shows, and the fact that the majority of tv and movies havent had an original thought in the last decade. I'm sure much of what they do today is staged to a given point. As far as that show. We knew who the contestant was going to be, that she had a farm, etc. Thus, sticking a tractor in the mix. Well, its not really a sign up kinda thing. When ya get there look up some of the regulars. You can send me a PM for the names. I (we) will try to point you in the right direction. Many of us try to put those who can learn from each other together and help them with their skills. We also try to organize dives (even though we are NOT organizers) for ourselvs that included those that are trying to learn. Traditionally, an organizer at a boogie is responsible for building a dive that is safe, fun, challenging, etc for a group of jumpers. Intermediate freefliers are handled differently than RW fliers. Its not uncommon to find a jumper with 100-200 jumps that can be on a 6-8 way RW dive, where in a freefly 6 - 8+ way dive may have jumpers with 1000 or more jumps on it. so you have one person that is responsible for helping 10, 2ways. Thats a tall order for one, two or even 3 people. so we'll try to help as much as we can. Balance. Yup, balance. Balancing enough work to keep my employed and in enough funds to jump. Balancing my marriage and being gone most weekends after working all week. Balancing the parties with a decent amount of sleep so I can jump safe and alert the next day. I havent figured it out yet, but Im working on it.

The average cow produces 21 times more sewage per day than the average human. So a dairy with 10,000 cows produces as much daily waste as a 210,000 person city. Except dairies aren't required to have sewage treatment systems, so the waste is left to pollute to growndwater. And people look at me funny when I tell them I'm a vegetarian for environmental reasons. Not as true as it used to be. One of the growing (and quickly) segments of the agriculture industry is waste management. You wouldnt belive the MFG who are rushing to provide tools for that particular situation. MOST large cattle operations (dairys, feedlots, etc) have collecting ponds, and use the waste as fertlizers. If I was a vegitarian, id be more concerned about human waste than animal. Ooooh! For all your intermediate freefliers out there check out this tidbit of info: There will be someone to organize intermediate flyers. Yup, so dont be afraid you'll be left out when you show up. Plus, many of us who call this DZ home do our best to welcome in the new jumpers who visit and help them meet and jump with peeps that will make their skydives fun and helpful! Not that we dont have other excellent organizers for freeflying, and bellyflying, just though some of you would like to know. the organizer(s) is yet to be dertermined but there are a few who are being considered. when the final decision is made an annoucement will come out.
