To respond to the origina poster: I had plenty of line twists in my early jumps. I even had my sabre I 170 spin up so bad the risers pinned my chin to my chest. Ouch. Packing and body position play an important role, work with your instructors on how to best attempt to prevent line twists.

Full load on the motor is under 12 amps. id say that thing would be lucky to blow you over much less support achive the speeds of freefall. Some of the orginal outdoor tunnels were old DC-3 engines and props turned 90 degrees, or so ive been told. That should give you and idea of the power required for simulated freefall. Tim is still alive and kickin. I wonder if they could talk Tim into trying it again for Stunt Junkies this year. Would be a great show with the Video of the last attempt played over and over as they built up to the new attempt. He almost made it last time. Oh yea. I know he's still alive. Im glad for that. I happy that he's made a full recovery. Im happy to have those that push the envelope. We would never have the insight and technology we do today with those that pioneer the way. Some people have to take those risks. I proud to be part of a group of people whow push the limits of physical endurance, technology, and performance. Lord knows I'm in the upper percentile of those who are at risk for an error. IMHO, lets err on the side of caution once in a while. I know I've lost enough friends this year. I think a lot to do with how fast you pick up tunnel flying has to do with your current skydiving progression. I've got 40 min in the tunnel. The first 10 at Eloy all back flying. The next 30 at Orlando. all back and sit. My docks are sketchy at best. My forward movement is fine, but back is a little weak. I can trasition from back to sit and vice versa. But ive got almost 800 jumps and most of them freefly. I was in the tunnel with a friend who has well over 1000 jumps, been to big way HD camps, and is a top notch freeflier. His transitions are solid in the tunnel, but watching him try head down in the tunnel made me tired.
