The height of pompous, self righteous idiocy is to explain to other people their own motivations. . . =(_8^(1)

A poll of the troops standing in wait right now would be interesting to see. I doubt a very large percentage of them think the impending ass-kicking is "stupid". Uncle Sam develops the mind AND the body, you know. And remember -- the US will not go in intentionally killing civilians. Okay, point given. When I was in college a long, long, long time ago, the lies were more about what job or location you would end up getting. . . =(_8^(1)

How can anybody who voluntarily signs a contract stating that they will fight in a war be in ANY way be "forced" to go and fight? I suspect the recruiter didn't tell them, hey here's so where would anyone get that idea when they sign up? . . =(_8^(1)
  6. American business doesn't survive on theory. It's a logical progression judging who is more caring and better informed about politics in the US by the businesses that survive. If you want to doubt that logic, fine. . . =(_8^(1)
  7. American conservatives are generally more interested in, and better informed about current politics than liberals. This why conservative talk radio flourishes, while liberal talk radio doesn't exist in the national market without government subsidy. This is why Fox News is thriving while CNN suffers a long, slow ratings death. The people you've described above are liberals, not "pro-bombing" conservatives. . . =(_8^(1)

Dude, just because you don't possess a value system that includes the desire to defend Truth, Justice, and The American Way of Life doesn't mean other people don't. A lot of Americans have SACRIFICED their lives for you, and you spit on them. . . =(_8^(1)

We have the support of numerous countries around the world. The US has abandoned the UN because it is no longer allowing us to achieve our goal. US goal: To make our country and the world a safer place to live. France is abusing it's veto power to achieve it's goal. France's goal: To not lose a ton of money and futures they've got invested in Iraq. The UN became terminally useless when France eliminated the concept of compromise by stating that they would veto any resolution leading to the use of force against Iraq. I'll bet France's last minute turn-about yesterday generated a huge collective "sure pal, whatever you say" from the White House. . . =(_8^(1)

  11. On my 12th jump I exited visor up with my Oxygn A3. I spent the whole freefall trying to get the visor latched and the helmet back down over my head. When I finally got it together, I could see my jump coach 50 feet away just laughing his ass off. . . =(_8^(1)
  12. I thought the higher prices in CO are because it takes more time and energy to propel an aircraft upwards through thinner air. . . =(_8^(1)

It isn't going to be a unilateral invasion!! I agree. But our moral standards aren't matched by our enemies. They would nuke us without hesitation given the tools and an ability to do it anonymously. All "they" need is more time for development, which is why taking action now is better than waiting until later. I think we are doing that now, but I know you disagree. Time will reveal which actions were most prudent. . . =(_8^(1)

Correct, but better alternatives don't seem to exist. We can fight against our enemies and survive, or succomb to them and give up our way of life. The evil we face doesn't negotiate, comprimise, or fight fair. . . =(_8^(1)

Do you know how fast we could have finished off North Vietnam had we decided to aim at non-military targets? But we didn't, and we haven't aimed at civilians since Hiroshima & Nagasaki. In this war, any civilian deaths will certainly be accidental. . . =(_8^(1)

It is a happy moment for me! The "War for Oil" and similar dimwits out there are about to be shown that this is actually a STAND against EVIL. When we don't seize the oil (like we didn't in '91), when we don't bomb innocent civilians, and when the people of Iraq are free of an evil tyrant, perhaps your sadness will diminish. . . =(_8^(1)

  21. did you see the video? Great interview, and very revealing! Thanks for posting the link. Judging by the conversations I've had with my liberal friends and family, the interviews are fairly representative of the norm. . . =(_8^(1)

  23. no but if it was about oil we could take over Kuwait. We already control 65% the area with our military (CNN aka Clinton news network numbers not mine). It would be a small mop up operation instead of a war..... Right on bodypilot. If the current U.S. objective in Iraq was about oil, why not just take over Kuwait? Or how about just make deals with Iraq and buy it from them? Or hey, Venezuela is a really weak target for getting cheap oil, and it's closer too! Let's invade them! I think the "War for Oil" camp ignores a lot of stuff. . . =(_8^(1)
