  1. Have you ever test flown a MR150 at 1.3? Or did you just put it in your rig and forget about it? I would take the time to find a demo MR150 and go jump it. Determine for yourself under less stressed conditions than an actual reserve ride to find out how it flys. Determine it for yourself! Now, with that said, I have a friend who recently broke his leg on a MR reserve landing. He had 3 rides on it. The first he said he landed fine. The second he said it folded up behind him and put him flat on his back but he walked away bruised from it. The third he broke his leg because he felt the reserve start to do the fold routine behind him and let up on the toggles to keep it flying. He basicly landed with almost no flare. He is now replacing his MR. He freely admits that he was "loading up" his MR. What his actual type and wingloading are I do not know so I won't speculate on that. But I'll tell you, I have a PD126R in my Micron if that tells you anything about my opinion. That's a loading of 1.3:1. Just my opinion. Go get a demo and jump it yourself. 2. Yes, and he's better looking since I kicked him in the face doing 10-way. Yah, I wear a fullface helmet now. So what's that supposed to mean?
  3. How are your stows? Change any length? Do the bands bite your stows the same as your previous canopy? Did you change the pilot chute? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  4. Pssst.....[yelling whisper] riddler.....riddler....yah....come 'er.......[whipser]...this is like not a secret no mo......yah.....i think they all heard it.......ok.....just thought i'd help there bro...[/whisper]
  5. I would like to also mention that it seems that due to a certain electronic communications medium (www.dropzone.com) that many people were able to stay in close contact to coordinate some (not all) of their efforts. Debate was made and suggestions made on how to approach the problem. USPA HQ in conjunction with other sport jumpers were able to get TSA to move on education for screeners. I'd just like to say thank you Sangiro for making DZ.com a place where jumpers can cut through some of the noise and make good things happen. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  6. How are you online Bill? Man, you have major connections and stuff.
  7. Thousands of jumps? Ummm......[looks at logbook] Will you settle for just 800? S'all I gotz. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  8. A Load Organizer is someone that tries to organize loads. He/she will make themselves available to collect jump tickets or get people on manifest and to come up with a dive plan that will challenge or entertain the group they have going. Different LOs may focus on different levels. At Skydive Chicago I focus on newbies with less than 100 jumps. People with more than 100 jumps are welcome to come along and often do but I'm on the lookout for that person just off student status and doesn't know anyone. If I see an unfumiliar face I try to go up and introduce myself and ask who they are jumping with. They may not want to do belly flying dives so I point them in the direction of the Free Fly organizers or take them over and introduce them directly. A LO should be someone who spreads good will around the DZ and usually has a smile on their face all the time because they are enjoying what they are doing. 9. Ummm......just 200. Not 2000. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  10. damn is there a river going through SDC too? jeez big place :) Yes....down the east side of the property. The Fox river just before it meats the Illinois River. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  11. Canoes on the property. Horses close by. Then you can ride them down by the river on our property. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  12. I could tell you. But then I'd have to kill you.
  13. Absolutely! We all marveled at the food made at Nationals last year. I think everyone wanted to steal the cook away and take him to their own DZ! :^) Have they built that restaurant for him yet? ltdiver Alas, no restaraunt yet. As you can imagine some things have been delayed due to recent events. I'll try to ask this weekend what the new plan is for the restaraunt. My understanding is that it will go forward. But as you can see we already have the food so not having the restaraunt....well....it's not keeping away from the DZ I'll tell you that. Chef Tim is great and he works like a slave during the summers. He has good help that also work like slaves so make sure you try and tip these guys if you visit and get food. They are so worth it. Just as an aside, Chef Tim does do dinner up in the VIP lounge on Friday and Saturday nights (if they aren't already doing it at the party deck at the pond) so it's kinda like we already have the restaraunt. With a huge video screen too! Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  14. Yep, more than one person has missed their flight home after seeing SDC. Can't put my finger on it. Maybe because they were having fun? Glad you had a good time. Sorry I didn't bump into you though. I was only out there this past saturday and on the "Max ways". Edit to add: did you get to see the hybrid bigway they did? Did you see Rook's move when that one jumper went low? That guy is hands down the best skydiver in the world. There's nothing he can't do. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  15. Hmmm...lots of people are having this lately. Renee tried to track it down because an email came in that was infected but thought it was quarantined. Then another description said it could come through mIRC or Kazaa....She only has mIRC for the PUB chat. Any possibility that's where it came in for everyone? 16. As a matter of fact, yes, I am. However, it will be used as fundage for next year's tent. I will be creating a link for the 2004 WFFC tent, but this year's can still be used or just got to Paypal and specify my username (jceman)@hotmail.com as the recipient. K.
  17. If the jumps were already discounted from a previous higher price and then they went back to normal and then got raised that percentage raise is not as dramatic as you might think. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  18. Correctable to 20/20. That's my understanding. Don't know if there are any waivers to this. Would you want a pilot that didn't have correctable sight to that acuity? No, I don't have a link to that requirement. I'm just thinking with logic. My first CFI when I did my private training was blind in one eye, yet he held a class 2 medical. Maybe the rules have changed since then, but obviously it was waiverable at that time. He was also a FAA designated examiner. (My 2nd CFI and CFII for my instrument certificate only had one arm... He held an ATP and class 1 medical) Thinking logically Chris? It's the government, it doesn't have to make sense. I'm not saying there aren't exceptions. I used to have a waiver for my uncorrected vision because it was beyond 20/400 but corrected to 20/20. They dropped that rule. Now that PDS has posted more specific info I see I wasn't totally off but was wrong in that you can have 20/40 vision corrected or uncorrected. 19. Oh brother.... And by the way....thanks again Phree for helping me out on my first BirdMan jump. That was way cool of you.
