Sorry if this is a dumb question as I'm new to jumping stills, but what other ways besides gaffers tape are there to fix your focal length when in freefall?

No Shit, there he was, thought he was gonna die!!

Man, the suction force out of a turboprop will get you everytime! -
That's awesome. I saw the list of the 11 cities that have the transformed 7-11/Kwik-E-Marts... New York, LA, Chicago, Seattle, etc. All are pretty big citiies. Then at the end of the list... Bladensburg, MD. Who the hell picks Bladensburg? Who the hell knows where Bladensburg is? Lucky for me that's only 10 minutes away from my house. I'm going on a Kwik-E-Mart hunt later this week

but the OP has the option of the 83 or the 86, not the 89, because that's what is available from roommates.
-
I learned how to use a TI83 early on and have found it to be very easy to use. In school, whenever I forgot mine and had to borrow a friends 86 I was confused as hell and couldn't even get it to do a simple equation like 2+2. That being said, I know the 86 has a lot more you can do with it. My guess is it is easy to use once you get used to it. You'll be fine with either. My preference if the 83.

don't forget to check out all the cool kids out at Skydive Delmarva oh, and my roommate is a hardcore tri athlete, so depending on where you are in the DC area, he might have some good info for you in that area.

Bob Mehl lives in Arlington, and I recently started going to him. I'll PM you some contact info.
-
I saw him in VA late last year, and I totally agree with you on this one. AMAZING show.

I don't remember the specifics off the top of my head, but there is a feature something along the lines of "Save Buddy List" and you can save it as a file on your hard drive. Then log in on another s/n and you can "load buddy list". That's the gist of it at least.

well, with everyone getting their rigger's tickets online, you never know (see attached)
-
do you have a larger version of that online somewhere? i'd love to be able to see the whites in their eyes (which i'm sure you can on a larger version)

Looks like Im going to have to take a trip out to SkyVenture Denver... or hit up some slopes this winter... or both. And it looks like Ive got a pilot to fly me out there

With that being the case, I think you should move your stuff over to Flickr. Someone had mentioned they are offering the first 3 months free, so it sounds like the right move with the amount of files you've got to move. But, like I said earlier, its only a click or 2 to get all those pics from Picasa onto the web. If you still have them on your computer, it could be as easy as opening Picasa, "Select All", and "Publish to Web Album", then go to sleep and let Picasa do it's thing. Oh, and one more thing, when in the HELL am I going to be able to see my Oh-hi-hoes again???
-
How so? Google accounts are free, and subsequently, so is Picasa.
-
I vote for Picasa as well. Really really really easy to use. From my card to the web it takes 2 clicks. The picasa application also has some basic editing tools that make it really easy to crop, adjust colors, rotate, apply settings, etc.

ask friends or check craigslist in the "housing wanted" type section. craigslist is how i've found all my previous roommates at my house (some have been terrible, some have been great... i recommend checking references and maybe having lunch with the person before having them sign on)

How long did it take you to get your bachelor's degree?
BGill replied to windcatcher's topic in The Bonfire
4.5 years for a BS in Biomedical Engineering i got set back half a year by studying abroad... and not really studying that much while i was there -
Skydive the Point and Skydive Orange are probably your best bets from Quantico. Both are great dz's, but I can't provide any info about their need for vidiots. I would contact the individual dz's for that. Louisa appears to be another option, but I've never been there.

That sounds awesome. I will ask around and find out how much interest there is for new flockers.
-
*bump* just in case anyone is looking for some jumping to do today
-
try this stuff called Redline. there's been a bunch of talk on here about it too. that stuff will get ya going for sure.

After a month or so of issues with someone trying to steal out airport from us, Skdive Delmarva is finally reopen for business starting this Friday, June 8! The weather looks beautiful so we'll be jumping full force! Come out and visit, we've got a lot of catching up to do!
