  1. I appreciate the concern and suggestions and thought about that as I painted the alti. I noticed the holes you are referring to but they are on the actual "core" if you will and not on the outer casing itself I also did not paint the inside of the housing or the core itself. I also made sure to look at it carefully prior to painting just to be triple sure that no holes were covered but you are both certainly right in that you can never be too sure that's why I planned on jumping with a stock alti from my DZ which I know works as the primary while I test this one out to make sure it works. The work done was simply using plasti dip to change the color from the aluminum stock finish to gun metal grey.
  2. You're absolutely right. Thank you for the clarification I wasn't 100% sure what it was.
  3. So I recently bought a used Alti-2 as my first altimeter and was stoked. I knew it was a bit "worn" to say the least so I googled around to see if anyone had any information on fixing it or changing the color but nothing. Alas I decided to take the plunge and do it myself. Gotta say not too displeased with the results. I would love to hear what you all think. P.S. Just in case it wasn't obvious, the aluminum finish was the original.
  4. Thanks. I actually just bought a used Alti-2. Can't wait to jump it.
  5. Just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you for all of the awesome information, links and resources! I am currently jumping out in Titusville but look forward to jumping in Deland as well. If anyone ever wants to meet up out there, let me know. And as a way of paying my dues, here is my AFF level 6 for your enjoyment and critique! http://youtu.be/Z4kf8ZQrdNI?t=32s Blue skies, Alan
  6. hey man. Are these limited to 13k as far as what they read or will they continue escalating well beyond that, say 18k? Sorry for the newb question
