It wasn't a stock, I bought it to fit me. The l straps I would say are more on the short side. The padding part doesn't overlap, there is about an inch gap between the padding from upper to lower on the leg harness. Since I took my Canopy course I did start sitting it relieves some the pressure but sometimes it is hard to try and sit.

Hey all, question about my leg straps on my container. I love my Wings Container, however when I'm in the saddle, the straps really dig into my legs, and it's super uncomfortable almost to the point where it hurts. Is this a common problem? Or is it due to maybe I tighten my straps too tight? I bought the container new direct from Wings. I've even lost a few pounds since then. Advice, ideas, questions are welcomed. If I'm missing anything in my description please ask and I'll be sure to answer back ASAP. Thanks everyone. Blue Skies

I'm 5'7 and 210 lbs. I have't had any problems. I went to one drop zone for aff and they said I was overweight. 220 lbs at the time. Their student rigs were rated for 215 lbs. I tried another drop zone and they said they had rigs that would fit me and handle my weight. However I have made it a point to get my weight back down to 190 lbs. I'm still new to the sport but check with the drop zone. Head down there ask questions, check out the vibe and see what they have say. One guy I jump with is 6'0 260 lbs. So I'd say your good bud, in my opinion anyways.

I haven't been there yet, I've only been jumping out of Lodi. I've heard good things tho.

Welcome to the forums and the sport. Where'd you do your aff at?

Take a canopy course if you have one available to you. I just did one a week ago and did wonders for my control and landings.

New AFF student in Washington
Hollywood5581 replied to Clearlyhazy's topic in Introductions and Greets
It's a lot to take in, it was overwhelming at first for me on aff. I was more afraid of screwing up and forgetting something because I didn't want to repeat a jump. The exit used to be the scariest thing for me. Now It's my favorite thing! Just keep jumping, and eventually you get more confident and relaxed each jump. The tunnel is a great idea, careful it's addicting. But worth it. -
It's more of a preference imo. While others may fog easier due to poor ventilation especially with a full face. I liked the G3 it didn't fit too bad but with me having a big head, the large was too tight and the xl was loose. I tried on the Phantom X and it was just right so I went with the Phantom X. I would definitely try them on if your able too.

Love suzuki's I've owned 3. Hope the fairing gets worked out. There's some good deals on the internet for aftermarket. I've had some friends had to order those before. They fit real nice. OEM is just too expensive sometimes.

Welcome, sorry to hear about your motorcycle accident bro. What kind of bike do you ride if you don't mind me asking? Enjoy your aff it only keeps getting better from there.

Thought I would give you all an update. 21 free falls, and I'll be doing my hop and pop tomorrow. Got that confidence level up and exits are clean and smooth. (stability improved with some more tunnel time) Got my rig already, and signed up for a canopy course for June 17th. Thanks for the words, jbr and sky mama. blue skies! -
Air to Air communications. the "neckmike"
Hollywood5581 replied to propilot's topic in Gear and Rigging
Riding street for many years, we used chatterbox. They've improved over the years and the range is pretty significant, 2 to 5 miles depending on model. Would definitely need a full face helmet. On a windy day, with a great helmet blasting through the canyons at speeds in excess of 120 m.p.h. We could talk and hear each other just fine. Just a suggestion, I know more about bikes than skydiving at this point, hope this helps. -
Digital Altimeters and Polarized Sunglasses.
Hollywood5581 replied to AlanS's topic in Gear and Rigging
I agree with unpolarized, before skydiving I would notice the colors more resilient on my phone in doors, however out in the sun if really bright it, I would have to take my glasses off to see it better. I tried them on at the drop zone when using a digital for the first time before I manifested. I could barely see the screen, Polarized are great for your everyday use, in the sky I'd recommend not polarized. -
I love watching RBAF videos, they always put together some great flights.

Hollywood5581 replied to Moonlight_Drive's topic in Introductions and Greets
Hey, bro congrats on the rig. Hit me up next time if you jump in Lodi. I jump every tuesday, and try to get out there on Saturdays if my work load isn't heavy. Good luck in Vegas bro. -
New discounted stock Wings container for first rig?
Hollywood5581 replied to puppychicken's topic in Gear and Rigging
Damn, good point there Jeff. I didn't know the wait time was that long. Makes my early reference of their wait time sound better. However I do like my wings container. When I eventually downsize at a much later date. I may go with wings again. So far so good, but we'll see after a hundred jumps or so. Status quo could change lol. -
New discounted stock Wings container for first rig?
Hollywood5581 replied to puppychicken's topic in Gear and Rigging
As I'm new to the sport as well, I went with a new Wings container. Due to me being a bigger guy. Finding decent used gear has been a trouble for me. Rental prices were killing me, and some of the harnesses at the dz didn't fit me properly except for one. And well if some other guy was jumping it I would have to wait. Less loads and well more money on jumping. I had a great experience customizing my rig and got the quilted padding for my legs and shoulders. I've jumped it twice now and the thing fits like a glove it was relatively affordable I spent the extra money and got the boost system (RSL) If I was to buy a vector or javelin I was looking at about 1500.00 more in price not to mention going from a 5 to 6 week shipping date but to a 3 or 4 month wait for a new container. I love my new rig, and as to downsizing etc I'm in no hurry at this moment and will probably be jumping this rig for a while as to I only get to jump once a week about 5 to 6 times that one day. Like I said I can't give too much advice as to Im new and not seasoned like some of the other guys on here. But just thought I would let you know about my experience with wings so far, and as to why I went new. Everybodies situation is different and I think I made the right choice in my situation. Hope this helps a little and if any questions about the Wings I'll try my best to answer. Blue Skies -

One year in, 300 jumps down.
Hollywood5581 replied to NowAndLater's topic in Introductions and Greets
congrats bro, your living it up. Wish I had more time to get jumps in like that. Blue Skies -
Welcome to the forums, As i'm new to skydiving I'm still learning myself, I don't have all the answers. You looked a little nervous bro. Remember to breathe, relax, arch, smile, and have fun. Read that SIM front to back, and hopefully next video we some more COA and you throw on your own. You got this, and good luck with your AFF. Blue Skies!

Just the 3000 ft mark is a little intimidating. However my coach is going to run me thru and go with me for some moral support. I know I'll do just fine. I've had some great instructors and coaches so far.
