  1. I just heard on Rush that Fitzgerald prosecuted Marc Rich and Libby was one of his defense attorneys. Hmm...wonder if it could be vindictiveness that motivated him. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

  4. I understand that you'd like to have everyone accept that the accusations against Clinton were as credible as Bush planning the 9/11 attacks, but it isn't so. 5. Perhaps willard was referring to Slick Willy's pardons. Perhaps you remember the pardongate scandal. Willy was accused of trading pardons and commutations for campaign cash and library donations. Basically that means bribery. Clinton didn't just get a blowjob and lie about it, he was accused of rape, sexual imposition, and sexual harrasment. His perjury was related to his attempt to avoid the appearance of a pattern that would have helped the prosecution on the Jones' lawsuit involving imposition and harrasment. 7. It is just one of the good features of the Ridgeline, not enough to sell it, just one point. It is not a liner, The bed itself is a steel reinforced composite with twice the strength of steel. It is extremely tough. When subjected to a huge load of rocks dumped into the bed, it comes through unscathed. I think you underestimate the value of convenience. You can't put something in the cab and have people in the cab at the same time. It is an extremely valuable feature that can't be done without independent rear suspension. When top GM execs saw it for the first time, they were quite envious that they didn't have it. The same could be said for all of the interior. But many buyers put considerable value on such interior features, as shown by the fancy, but less useful consoles of its competitors. It doesn't matter what it's called, a lot of people want them because they offer seating for 5 and a bed that can carry and tow a lot of stuff just like a traditional truck. Perhaps if you get the chance to check one out in detail, you'll appreciate it for what it is. 8. I think Bush should have had the guts to criticize the special prosecutor, and should have pardoned him from the fines. We've had so many threads on the merit/lack of merit of this case. Plame and her husband outed her, and she also lied about how her husband got the job to check out Niger, prosecution witnesses did not even agree on the facts, blah, blah. I understand that Bush haters wanted the case to bring down the whole administration, but it was not anything of the sort that would do that. It is not only conservatives that think the whole case should have been dropped before it ever got to a grand jury, some very respectable liberal journalists and political commentators were able to see this case for what is was, and what it wasn't. Some others can't see past their hatred for Bush. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 11. In a war, peace is sometimes had by winning the war instead of stopping it before one side loses. This usually means the war continues at full force until one side surrenders. 12. Pot kettel kettle pot or something like that. Quaint expressions only work if you use them correctly. By the way, I think it applies to you much more than JohnRich. Instead of making fun or joking about it tell me why you think Egypt and Palestine are similar. Then when you replay I’ll read it think about and see if you have any good points or if they are all good. Then I will right back. That’s the way it should work. OK, similarities between Egypt and Palestine vs Israel: Both have repeatedly attacked Israel. Egypt used shipping blockades, military assaults, and terrorist attacks staged from the Sinai. Also, Israel occupied some Egyptian land after winning a war, but they were willing to give it back. Israel withdrew to the pre-1967 border, giving up military bases, settlements, roads and other infrastructure as well as the Sinai oil fields. Is that enough for you? I have no problem speaking up. When you make inflammatory assertions that are untrue, which happens all too often, I counter with real historical information to set the record straight. I understand that it is irritating to be shown that you're wrong. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 13. That's some funny stuff there I've repeatedly responded to your accusations against Israeli actions, but I can't remember a single time that you've directly responded to information that I've posted that contradicts your assertions. I can't remember a single time you've answered what I thought were reasonable questions. Perhaps I'm wrong, but we've been going at it for a long time now, and it sure doesn't seem like you've had anything but a one way argument. edit - you did respond about Egypt finding peace, but make the conclusion that it is a 'special case'. 14. I don't think either side wants peace or ever wanted to live peacefully together. Each wants the total destruction of the other. Not much room to negotiate is there. That is not right. You don't have to speculate pessimistically. There are real examples. Anwar Sadat found peace with Israel, even though he led Egypt against them in war. 15. That's assuming you actually consider it to be a truck It's the only truck I've ever seen where the body is attached to the bed. Usually the 2 are connected by the frame. Personally, I don't like anything about it. In my mind, you get a truck because you haul a lotta crap, tow a lotta crap or just plain like trucks over cars. I just don't see the reasoning behind it. No one buys a truck for the gas milage. (Unless of course you just plain hate the world and wanna expel as many greenhouse gases as possible, but if that was the case, it'd be more harmful to open up a cattle farm) IMO Why does the bed need to be separate from the rest of the body to be considered a proper truck? The Ridgeline is so much more rigid in torsion precisely because the body is attached to the bed. It is a unibody structure, not a body on frame type of structure. When automotive journalists did slalom course comparisons with the bed carrying a heavy load (I think it was 1500 pounds), only the Ridgeline felt solid, all the others were obviously flexing badly. The bed has a standard integrated liner (extremely tough, no water collection issues as with separately installed liners) developed by a company that was a supplier to GM, but so few people bought the option that GM stopped offering it. The Ridgeline obviously isn't a full length bed truck, it competes against other such short bed trucks like the Ford SportTrac. Many don't want or need the full length bed, and appreciate greater manuverability and ease of parking in modern garages. It can fit 4 foot wide sheets of plywood/drywall between the wheel wells - no need to prop it above the wells like some other trucks. The bed is long enough to carry dirt bikes and quads with the tailgate down. For a short bed truck, it is much better at hauling stuff because of its locking trunk, and the ability to put such huge items in the rear seat, such as bikes. Even if you don't like the styling or short bed of the Ridgeline, you've got to admit the trunk is truly innovative and extremely useful. The console between the front seats is incredibly versatile, with sliding covers/doors and such. You can also put large items such as a gallon jug on the floor tray in front of the console. Automotive journalists complemented the Ridgeline's stability while towing at its limit (5500 lbs). It is very stable, again, because of the unibody structure's much greater torsional rigidity. One aspect of towing that the Ridgeline does better than the competition is pulling a boat up a steep, wet boat launch ramp. Its 4wd system is very good at getting traction in such situations. The Ridgeline isn't being marketed as a truck that gets great gas mileage. Its mileage is decent, but not remarkable due to its somewhat lousy, typical truck like aerodynamics. It is marketed as a short bed truck with excellent off road abilities compared to the competition, and with truly innovative storage features. 17. I think that conclusion is not at all justified. We have the technology, all it takes is the will to allow an appropriate national ID, and for employers to see that they will get busted if they don't check credentials. I like Ann Coulter's idea of allowing illegal aliens to sue their employers for paying below minimum wage. I think if the illegal immigration is stopped, then there should be much more legal immigration allowed. 18. I think the color of the interior is much more important than the color of the sheet metal in determining how hot it will get. Plenty of white cars have dark interiors. Tinted windows and a front windshield shade pretty much make the interior color irrelevant. 19. Come on, you should know better than to think that a reserve PC will actually deploy the reserve in less than gale force winds. 20. It may take a little less flare to land softly, and it might be better to do it a little later - but don't count on it. Sometimes you'll feel a push down at 50 feet due to turbulence, in which case you might need give a little toggle input and hold it to slow your vertical speed. Pivoting/turning around immediately after touchdown is vital, decide which way you'll turn before you land. If you turn to the right, then drop your left toggle and use both hands to keep pulling on your right toggle. If you mess up and start to get dragged around badly, apply the same technique of reeling in one brake line. Cutting away is an option. If you think the need to do that may exist (it will be a hassle to straighten out the main), remembering to disconnect your RSL up high will prevent having to pay for a repack. If you don't remember while you're still very high, don't distract yourself. 21. You make my point about Mr. Moore, Douglas. The Canadian healthcare system is in shambles...anyone that reports truthfully about their situation would have to show the bad side of their system as well as the "good" side. I don't have to go see that movie to have a pretty good idea that Moore probably does not honestly report on the fact that the Canadian healthcare system shuts down about December 10th every year because they are out of money until Jan. 1. He probably does not report on the tens of thousands of more affluent Canadians who after paying outrageous income taxes to fund their inefficient healthcare system still come to the United States every year to have needed surgeries and other medical care because they are tired of waiting for an operation or even an appointment to see a doctor for their condition because they are low on the list of rationed care recipients. If he touts the virtues of the Canadian system but leaves out the downside of the "sickos" of the Canadian system, then he is again a LIAR and a SPIN DOCTOR, not an honest crusader for justice. Quite right! I've read much about people having to wait months for heart bypass operations, because their case wasn't critical enough. In the US, hospitals compete with each other to have you get your operation done at their facility. The only delay is usually to get the patient ready for the operation. Similar stories of delayed treatment for cancer and other serious illnesses is common in the Canadian papers. A friend told me of how hard she had to fight to get doctors to finally approve her son for tubes in his ears (to treat his chronic ear infections). So, you can get routine care easily enough, but what good is that if you are told you have cancer/whatever, and then you know that going to the US for care will give you better treatment - you're likely to spend all the money you have to get the best rather than hope what you'll get in Canada will be good enough. I remember a story in a Toronto paper in 1999 that said Pittsburgh had more MRI machines than all of the Ontario province. Even my little town of 15,000 people had an MRI machine in its hospital at the time. One improvement I think would help (I can't remember where I first heard this): Remove the expectation for employers to provide health care (and have workers get that money as wages instead), and have people buy it themselves through group policies managed by associations such as USPA, bowling association, pilots association, labor union, automobile association, kennel club association, or whatever large, private group that people are members of by choice. There would no longer be the problem of losing health insurance due to losing your job. It is the power of the large numbers of a group that allows large companies to provide good health insurance, that large group is also available to the huge numbers of people that are members of the American Bowling Association, so it should work, and you'd have a choice of such groups to pick from to buy your coverage. 22. Red, then blue. I am told by a friend that in Russia, red is considered to be a feminine color for a car, not likely to be picked by guys. 23. At least that makes some sense. I would have thought it would go straight to Omaha instead of bothering to stop in Amarillo. It seems like it can't be much farther, but maybe it just doesn't quite have the range. Remember how the Bond movie had it lighting its engines and going into orbit, straight from the 747 - fueled, ready to go, no need for solid rocket boosters or external tank! That ranks high in the category of most implausible Bond moments. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. 24. Why it would go to Amarillo, Texas, then up to Offutt air force base near Omaha, Nebraska, on its way to Florida? I understand the 747 with the shuttle on its back doesn't have the range to go across the country, especially at the relatively low altitude it flies on the way. I cannot understand why it would go from Amarillo up to Omaha. It appears that both Amarillo and Omaha are about the same distance from their final destination in Florida. Any insight would be appreciated. Perhaps it is doing a publicity tour? 25. Perhaps meaningful/severe discipline is 'in the works' and your commanders don't want to draw attention to her actions which they now expect. I'd like to think this is the case, that it takes a while to get things lined up to do a serious smackdown. I'm trying to think optimistically. If this isn't the case, why do you think she's getting away with it? I expect you have some theory. Any supervisor is putting themselves at risk for ignoring it.
