Is this jumpsuit too tight? (pics)
camaroluvr447 replied to camaroluvr447's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
great idea. i will be in the tunnel in this month so I will definitely do that! I guess my biggest concern is I am just about to get a coach rating and i may need something that offers more flexibility in fall rate to match a student. Some rules can be bent. Some can be broken. Haha no i wouldn't want to take away from that haha. I already have a bootie suit, this one is my "booty" suit haha. I will have my rigger take a look and see what he can do, that's a good idea. Quote Some rules can be bent. Some can be broken. But you cant break all the rules all the time. -

Thanks guys this is all good insight! I have some tunnel time coming up in a couple weeks and will see how that goes with the suit. Looks like fall rate will be the biggest issue. just have to see how it goes now. Some rules can be bent. Some can be broken. But you cant break all the rules all the time. -

Hey DHemer I see you hail from SA, I made my very first jump there in 2012 up the coast from Capetown! I was so hooked after that haha. What's the skydiving scene like in SA? I can fit a single layer of thin thermals over a tee shirt or something. Not very much at all. Some chilly skydives may happen in this thing. Some rules can be bent. Some can be broken. so i just got this used suit. i like it well enough but it may be a bit tight. Waist is fine but across the chest is a bit snug, and it hugs my back as well. I can arch and all that, but its skin tight. on a cold day you could probably see my nips haha. any opinions? (on the suit not on my nips) thanks! stay safeish. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3UHol6kYnyaWTdDdEhnYnBwb2c/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3UHol6kYnyaLUZ2YVBkSndxVzQ/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3UHol6kYnyaTi1feWpBZjZGLW8/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3UHol6kYnyaSVc0S3ludnVydlE/view?usp=sharing Some rules can be bent. I talked to my renters insurance (who is also my car insurance provider) and they said if my rig were stolen/damaged in my house it would be covered under my homeowners policy. If it were stolen from my car then the cars comprehensive (theft/acts of god/vandalism) would cover it. Literally had this conversation with then last week. Oh and my ins is ameriprise. I don't know anything about the regulations in SA, or if the license is recognized anywhere else. But I did make my very first jump, a tandem there in Capetown. Excellent folks. Very welcoming and the view is FANTASTIC!! At least make a jump there while visiting your girl. And hike table mountain. Blue skies! Some rules can be bent. Some can be broken. SPOT CLEAN rig with some resolve carpet cleaner?
camaroluvr447 replied to camaroluvr447's topic in Gear and Rigging
Just got a new (to me) rig. The harness and container has some areas that are slightly sullied just from time. Never been set down. Was thinking of using some foaming carpet cleaner and a soft toothbrush to brighten her up. Yea or nay? Some rules can be bent. Some can be broken. But you cant break all the rules all the time. -
What makes skydivers so different from whuffos?
camaroluvr447 replied to Guru312's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
We're all people and as such prone to human shortcomings like anger. However I think in skydivers and other extreme/adventure sports participants share a different life philosophy than much of society. Most of us value the experiences life offers more than our very materialistic oriented society who is so focused on $$$ they forget how to live. I think the biggest difference is we learned the value of enjoying the little things like a sunny day, friendship and conversation on a weather hold, and all the small things that are free in life, like a soft breeze. Call it having priorities straight. Some rules can be bent. Some can be broken. But you cant break all the rules all the time. -
Hey folks! I am looking at buying my first rig. I'm on a budget and trying to stay under 2500. I have some questions on safe wingloading. I have an exit weight of 205. I typically have jumped 200 to 210 sq. canopies. I would prefer to buy a 190 sq canopy for my first rig for safety reasons. However I have heard that triathlons have quite soft landings. Could that justify buying a triathlon 175? My wing loading would be 1.17. Too aggressive? I wouldn't downsize instantly I would work my way there with rental gear of course. Some rules can be bent.
