  1. I bet the hairs on your neck stood up when you heard all that. A most interesting little chat!
  2. Correct. Ted E is Ted E Mayfield. Sorry, if I was too flippant. Yes, Ralph Himmelsbach wrote in his book that Ted E Mayfield helped in the FBI investigation of the DB Cooper skyjacking. However, Ralph did not disclose the specifics of that assistance, nor has he ever commented on it, as far as I know, even though he has been asked to do so by researchers, Perhaps RH saw Ted M as some sort of Frank Abagnale?
  3. Well, Shutter is able to see "dead people" so to speak, but Ted E kills them, at least that's what a court decided in terms of convicting him for causing the death of two of his skydiving students. I also understand that a bunch more died over the years at his DZ, 20 or so, I think. Ted E's guys also had a run-in with RH-1 at Aurora State Airport, which caused a lot of grief over unsafe conditions. But the Big Question is how Ted E helped RH-1 and the Bureau during their Norjak investigation, as RH-1 states in his book. I called Ted E to see what was cookin', but he hung up on me. I don't know if you can call Ted E a murderer, but I didn't think he would be so sensitive.... I find it funny that so many Norjak principals love to live under or near the Victor 23 airway. RH-1 and Tina sure do, and Ted E is just west of Tina on the way to the beach. Plus, Lee and Jane aren't that far away, either, in the Puget Sound area near Olympia. The Ted E Not-Fan Club is quite large, as I think 9 people called the night of the skyjacking to tell the FBI that Ted E did it. But RH-1 was on the phone with Ted E, so the feds thought he had a pretty good alibi. Why Ted E gets so much attention is a mystery to me, as he is about a half-foot too short and about ten-fifteen years younger than DB Cooper. Speaking of things in Oregon, have you heard about the interview with Tina that got published in the Eugene Weekly? I'm following up on it. Not sure it's legit or what, but she claims that she flew NWO routes to the Orient for five years after the Cooper incident. Kind of shoots the KC theory, eh? Also, Tina says she was flying with NWO until 1982, which is weird. Sister Elizabeth Mary told me she was already in the convent by then. Hmmmmmmm. One last thing about Ted E. Divorzic (spelling?) and Meyers really got under Georger's skin. Since G-1 is no longer here, you might go to Shut's site and ask the Old Man about Ted and the two would-be sleuths Is the Ted E you are referring to Ted Mayfield? Assuming that's the case, are you saying Ralph Himmelsbach claimed in "Norjak the Investigation of D B Cooper" that Ted Mayfield helped the Bureau during their investigation?? Please correct me if I'm reading the cards wrong here.
  4. Just another day in paradise by the look of things. How bout a change of topic that involves a little less tension? Anyone care to tell the new kid on the block a bit about Ted Mayfield?

  6. (About saying user '18C' is actually Galen Cook, who was previously banned from DZ for life) ***I believe you aren't Galen Cook for two reasons. First, if you WERE Cook, you would be found out sooner or later, and I don't think the real Cook would want to be viewed as dishonest, and come back (and then try denying he was Cook) after being perma-banned from Dropzone already. Two, the Google Map in your profile shows a location in New South Wales, Australia. So you must be from Australia. Or maybe it was just the random point and was not adjusted. But just in case you are from Down Under, nice place and welcome. I know an oceanographer currently working down in Tasmania on a research grant, and I have a friend doing college in Sydney. If you aren't from Australia, (and I'm not asking) I will take your word anyway that you aren't Galen Cook. Tell me I didn't take your word under false pretenses. It is time things here stopped being about me. You are correct that I am Australian, and I am definitively not who I'm being accused of being. So lets all move on...
  7. Blevins, The tellers did not have to check "all their incoming twenties". They only had to check the twenties for three specific years. But you would know that already if you read posts on this thread other than your own. Robert99 Am I right in thinking it's been established already the list of serial numbers the banks received was in sequential order? Meaning checking for a specific bill number involved just looking for where it should appear in the list and not checking every single number? What were the 3 years of the $20 bank notes found by Brian Ingram? Were they 1969, 1970 and 1971? A single picture can say a lot. Attached: A single page from the 34-page list of the ransom bills that was provided to NW banks, Federal Reserve banks, and certain casinos. Since the years involved were close to the year of the hijacking, it is safe to assume that tellers had to check MOST of their incoming twenties. Too bad they didn't give Cooper a bunch of bills from say...1957. They would have been easier to track.

  9. While you are at it, you could also make sure that you stay honest on this site. 18C is Galen Cook! Up to his old games AGAIN! Maybe, but RobertMBlevins is still RobertMBlevins. No on the first one. Can't help on the second.

  11. You make some good points there Bruce. I also found it interesting RFM was able to just hitch-hike his way home undetected. His original plan included his wife driving distraction in a separate car. But he got by easy enough without her. RFM's attention to detail in pre-planning his hijack was underrated IMO. Outside of telling people what he was up to and suffering the odd bout of stage fright along the way, his crime bordered on genius and he seems to have pre-planned far better than did DBC - again IMO. RFM's crime was identical in so many ways to DBC's, but to me the tell tale difference is found in their differing demeanor. DBC remained calm almost throughout and was the consummate gentleman according to Tina. RFM on the other hand was jamming his gun into people's ribs, pointing it at people, and waving his hand grenade menacingly about as well. Your suggestion DBC may have assisted RFM is left field and interesting. Remember also RFM in his demand letters kept referring to ''we'' not "i".
  12. Whatcha think of the Real McCoy? In particular, Rhodes" interviews with agents that had participated in the Reno evidence retrieval? When Bernie characterizes some of them acting as if they were "under the influence of a post-hypnotic suggestion," and that no one remembers the tie, those bits got my attention Big Time. You? Really enjoyed The Real McCoy. Great read whether the reader considers the connection to Flight 305 accurate or not. I will have to revisit the book and seek the section you specifically refer to. RFM had one hell of an interesting life, and if not for it being overshadowed by DBC's legendary deeds, would probably already have been turned into a mini-series or movie IMO.
  13. Not exactly, Eighteen-C, what does your handle mean to you? The fact that you use a seat number from Flight 305 as a moniker show that you have done some reading, such as RH-1's book, and probably others - Calame? Tosaw? If you'd like to read more, I'm happy to send an e-draft of my book along to ya. Free. brucesmith at rainierconnect dot com. I mentioned I'd read a couple of books on DBC. Seat 18C had a book on it. That's the origin of my moniker. Have read Skyjack, Into The Blast and The Real McCoy. Keen to read more. Cheers.
  14. Thanks for your thoughts and support there. I should have mentioned it earlier, but I'll do it now, the "Through The Lens of Logic" series of videos by SafecrackingPLF seemed to be very worthwhile, but then conclude almost all too suddenly. I got the impression he stopped rather than finished? I will re-visit the last couple of videos. But that's the impression I got. OOPS! I was wrong. Tina sat in the other aisle seat, 18 - D. RH-1 got that wrong in his book. Billy Mitchell says he sat in 18 - B, put his books in 18- C and coat in 18- A. DBC sat in 18 - E, and left his tie there. I never claimed to be DBC, a witness or anybody special. Just that I had read a couple of books. My handle 18C make some sense now?

  16. I very much like the notion of a late arrival at Tina Bar. 1-2 years feels about right considering what folks have said about dredge layers, etc. A couple of things get in the way, though: 1. The money was compressed. In fact, reports are that the money was essentially stuck together and Mrs. Ingram soaked the money for a while to see if she could get the twenties to separate. I haven't gotten any confirmation from Brian on this, but G-1 went into much detail on this with me on the phone about a year ago when there was a thaw in our relationship, which no longer exists - sigh. So this suggests that the money was buried somewhere for a lengthy period of time. 2. The lack of a plume field This is very intriguing and suggests that the money was planted. I asked Brian about this in Portland in 2011 and he specifically told me, with a belly laugh, that he and his family spent the rest of the day "looking for more money!" They didn't a thing, he says. However, plenty of folks deny this, including lots of FBI agents who claim they found tidbits and fragments all over the place. The locations and amounts vary greatly, though, depending on whom you talk with. But the documentation on their accounts is missing, or at least is not in Seattle, as far as I know. Also missing are all the tidbits they reportedly found. Yet, G-2 says that he has found fishermen who found fragments at T-Bar in the weeks prior to Brian's find in February 1980. But these guys can't back-up their story either, so it dangles in space as a possibility. 3. Arrangement of the bills. I find this topic to be very interesting. The three bundles were found stacked upon each other, but not at precise angles. This suggests that somebody buried them there and they weren't washed up. But G-1 makes a great argument for not burying the bills, namely, no one would ever find them so why bury them? Hide them for later retrieval? If so, then why not bury them in a safer place and in some kind of protective container, etc. From that, other theories get a bit further out. One of my favorites is that the money was intentionally buried as part of an MKULTRA exercise to condition participants that they were actually DB Cooper and were planting their loot for a later retrieval. This suggests that there are multiple people who firmly believe they are DB Cooper, and that is what the evidence tells us, such as Duane, LD, and Barb. We do have 922 confessees, so there may be more. This latter notion also requires an investigation of the Cooper Vortex phenomenon, which is the theory that the DB Cooper case has very strong emotional impacts on certain people, such as the folks here at the DZ and the gentlemen who claim to be DB Cooper (and women, such as Barb Dayton). Such as it is, the DB Cooper case has many facets and they quickly get intertwined and it takes a lot of work to follow a thread of evidence into any conclusive place. By the way, the sign at the beach says "Tina Bar," not Tena Bar. I know that the latter is used by a lot of folks but I feel that it is a purposeful distraction to the interesting fact that the primary witness to the skyjacking, Tina Mucklow, was living a few miles upstream at the time of the money find. Lastly, I love aisle seats, too!. But the person who spent most of the time in 18C on November 24, 1971 was Tina M. Not sure you knew this, so I'm passing it on. Or maybe you do! Tell us more.... Thanks for your well constructed response. I don't have much to tell other than I share an interest in the case and have read enough to know who is who, and some of the what is what. Cheers for now.
  17. Wrong again. I came here to discuss the case. Not be pursed by you.
  18. Surely there would be absolutely zero chance Tina Mucklow would ever visit this forum. So quite frankly I don't understand the validity of your request. However, if other posters also see difficulty with my avatar I'll be happy to change it.
  19. I only recently found SafecrackingPLF's series of videos on YouTube. In one of the early videos he makes the point about the layers in the sand at Tena Bar, and how they strongly point to the 3 bundles of money found by Brian Ingram in 1980 having only been there for a short period of time, and nothing like 9 years. Add to that the fact the elastic bands still bound the bundles of notes together and it starts to look very much like someone put the money there at a later date. I'm certain amongst the 1000s of posts here this subject has come up before. But what are people's thoughts please??????
  20. Well, you say it would be easy for tellers to check their twenties against that 10,000 number list. This is where we part company, opinion-wise. I think it was enough to make tellers pull out their hair, and they probably breathed a sigh of relief when their particular bank gave up the effort. Remember...there are 33 OTHER pages comprising that list, not just the 300 or so numbers shown. Take a look at the picture again. Then try to tell me with a straight face how 'easy' a process it all was. Blevins, Look at the numbers in the attachment to your post, those numbers are in alphanumerical order! They are NOT random! Robert99 Yeah...well, maybe so. Still...you try to match up one bill at a time from that 34 page nightmare. I'm surprised that some NW banks forced the tellers to keep doing that for up to six months. The smarter, or more merciful banks, (*respected their valued employees*) gave up the effort within the first three months. For Everyone Else: I'm going to attach the single-page example of the number list again as a reminder. 300 numbers on that page. There were about 9,700 OTHER numbers, as well as an additional 33 pages. Can we say 'nightmare on the job'? I think it's safe to assume that NW bank tellers at that time saw at least fifty, a hundred, who knows how many twenties coming across their counter each day. (*Don't forget to check those bills before you go home...*) Glad I wasn't a teller in Seattle back in '72. I would have quit and gone into writing sci-fi. I read your book Into The Blast recently and enjoyed it. Current reading Geoffrey Gray's book - about half way through it - which I know you based part of your book on. Assuming that picture attached earlier is of the actual list of $20 serial numbers supplied to banks, how did both Geoffrey Gray and yourself get it wrong in your books about whether the serial numbers were supplied sequentially or not?? Surprised you chose to leave out some things Gray mentions about Kenny Christiansen - as an example that he was thought to be gay. In your book I started to wonder about that, but from memory you avoided stating it.

Robert99 First post here. Hello to all. Currently reading Geoffrey Gray's book Skyjack and I'm sure he claims the serial numbers of the $20 ransom notes were NOT supplied in sequential order to banks etc. From memory he does say the $20 showed only 3 different year dates. He nominates the years, but I don't have the book with me. Go easy. Some of you have had 43 years and 1978 pages start on me.
