  2. Interesting that you say that. The forums are full of complaints about sabre2 openings. I demoed one that was very bad in that respect (in all 8 jumps). But yes, they do fly well once they are open. I own a Pilot now. -- Jeff My Skydiving History

Not an asnwer to your question, but there is room for confusion in the case where the lines are not the same length (not uncommon), so it needs to be clear that one line can be taught and others can be slack (or vice versa). I do no know of a reason to have all of them slack or pulled down, except in the latter case if you were trying to have a cambered bottom skin on your airfoil. If I were designing it, I'd rather err on the side of slack. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
  4. Virtually every manufacturer will make a container that will take that size of main. Shop around, look at gear, educate yourself, and don't listen to everyone (except me and your instructors). It is often suggested to buy used gear for your first rig. That is usually good advice. Maybe look in the dz.com classifieds to start educating yourself. Many rigs can have the harness modified to fit you better if the fit isn't as good as you'd like, but the rig is otherwise a good one for you. At your home dz start paying more attention to the rigs people have, ask questions, ask to try it on, etc... Note that a rig made for someone else may not feel good on you.   6. I'm a Pilot fan, but they don't seem to make them that big. Another good choice for a canopy is PD's Sabre2 which comes in 230 and a 260 sizes. PD also makes the Spectre up to a 230. The Icarus Safire 2 comes up to a 229. -- Jeff My Skydiving History

  8. I have a few Tiger Moth jumps, but all were via level exits... climb out onto the wing (being careful with foot placement), say goodbye to the pilot, and avoid the horizontal stabilizer on the way by. -- Jeff My Skydiving History

  11. Those sare fairly standard places for lines to break under heavy loads. You might contact PD and see if they recommend a larger slider. ALthough this canopy may not have a history of bad/hard openings. They put a bigger slider on my pal's sabre2-190 and it is much better now. -- Jeff My Skydiving History

  15. I enjoy freefall. The canopy ride is just a means to freefall again. I take canopy flight seriously though, it just doesn't do anything for me. I worry more about collisions under canopy than I do in freefall. It is harder to keep track of everyone under canopy, especially that you have to keep track of others who weren't even on the dive with you. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
  16. for many jumpers it is limited to elbow exercises, bending it to get the beer to their mouth. For me it is mostly doing a desk job, so I don't use up too much energy before the weekend of skydiving. -- Jeff My Skydiving History

  25. I agree with what others have said, and I will add that the crux will be very floaty. As for exits, if it is a group that doesn't jump together often, I recommend you keep the exits basic, don't try to launch big or tricky pieces, concentrating on discipline. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
