I think I may owe beer, but I'm not completely opposed to what Wendy said. I do think the government should rob from the rich school districts (and that money shouldn't be allocated by local real estate values), but the problem is that the robbing they're doing isn't the right kind... I hear that there's a teacher shortage, while at the same time, I know teachers who can't find a job. The reality is that the teachers refuse to go to a war zone to teach because there's no benefit to it. The robbing that should be done is encouraging good teachers to go to bad areas and not continuing to pay the best teachers the most money to stay in the best schools. But, the teacher unions won't allow that. I studied a lot of German in school and when I finally got to Germany, they wanted to speak English at the Hofbrauhaus. Unfortunately, the one word I had to translate for them was blood sausage.
