those with NO, NONE, ZERO ratings....
RevJim replied to rocketdog's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Exactly, Bill. As I said above, I'm just not the teacher sort. As a BMI, sure, I'd be "teaching," but only a discipline, not a true FJC. This is for EXPERIENCED jumpers. Sure, I feel some responsibility, but not as much as say, and AFFI or a TMI. These are people that have saved their own lives HUNDREDS (at least) of times, if not thousands, who are looking to try something new. As for the PRO, I like the occasional off-dz landing (unlike some that are mega paranoid about it), and this allows me to actually PLAN some of them... It's your life, live it! Of course, you know, if he gets the Ford now, he'll be labeled as whipped, and never live down the fact that he wasn't allowed to make his own decision, you know. So, what's it gonna be, Clay? It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Or, with certain models.... Flip Over Read Directions Clay, get the Dodge, just make sure you get the Allison Tranny. Dodge automatics DO suck. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Honestly, teaching never really interested me. I love seeing a student's eyes right after that first jump, but getting them to that point just isn't me. There ARE 2 rating I want eventually though. One USPA, and one "private." USPA, PRO. Basically, if I want to jump into someone's backyard, I'll be able to.... Private, BMI, but not until I feel as though I could fly circles around, or at least be able to stay glued to Chucky in formation flight (I'm still a loooong ways away from THAT.) My Anniversary is Tuesday, but I have to work, and tomorrow we get a new furnace.... so my wife and I went out last night to celebrate with a movie and dinner (in that order). We say that movie (thread title), and it's friggin awsome! I was laughing my ass off through the entire movie. Really. I don't go to the theatre often, as I consider it a waste of money, but this one is worth it. Go see it, period. That is all. It's your life, live it! OK, I like that warning, but IIRC, this is how to change it.... Click "Tools" menu on top of IE. Click "Security" tab. Click "Custom Level." Scroll down to "Launch Programs in an I-Frame" (or something like that, and change from "prompt" to "enable." Like I sid, IIRC that should do the trick. You may need to close all IE windows and start IE back up fresh. IMO, I'd leave it alone though... It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Please tell me it's not the demo jump we did at WFFC and you and I held a kiss pass till we opened Of course not, dear! It's a hop n pop load that was thrown together that ended in a flight for life for a friend. I know it's not my fault, but ya know.... And Bolas, I don't use a CYPRES... It's your life, live it! Well-said, Jim. Especially when jumping with newer skydivers, I work really hard to talk about the good stuff on the jump and how much fun I had. When I had just gotten my A license I was afraid to ask others to jump with me for fear of "ruining" the jump. One of my favorite people to jump with at my DZ has well over 2000 jumps and she still makes you feel like you're doing *her* a favor by jumping with her. No matter how the jump goes, she gets to the ground and says, "Wow, that was fun!" That, to me, is what this sport is all about. I'm trying to give some of that back already even though I'm still pretty new myself. Yep, the same person I wrote about a minute ago (in another thread) laos taught me that lesson. I was afraid of jumping with up-jumpers for fear of messing up the dive. He flew me like a kite, and no matter how bad {{{I}}} thought the dive went, he was always grinning, and thanking me for the jump. He instilled a great deal of confidence in me, and I thank him for that yet today. It's about the FUN! Thanks, Elvis. It's your life, live it! Requirements, no, but as one Elvis jumping dude from Vegas once told me (ok, told me many times) if ya didn't log it, ya didn't jump it. That simple. Kinda like us and video. No video (or log), no jump. I've stood by that comment for the last number of years, and have logged every single jump, though some are really lacking in detail. All 2 of 'em. Really, how hard is it to fill out a piece of paper, at least at the end of the day? It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
