Too late, it's on it's way to Canada (the 135). My 150 opens exactly the same. I roll the nose together, all one way, all the way to the "A" lines, but not over or past them. I quarter the slider, then pull it waaaaay out front, ahead of the nose. I stuff the nose into the packjob. Be careful not to go too far. I used to push it all the way to the back. Knock on wood I never had a line over. I found that only hiding it halfway into the packjob I got the same results. Wrap the snot outta the tail. Seriously. It works. KEEP IT TIGHT FROM HERE ALL THE WAY INTO THE BAG! Loosen it even a bit and it all goes to shit internally, giving you the basics of a bad trash pack. Edit to add: I tried NOT rolling the nose on the 150, like PD says, twice. I didn't get spanked, but it reminded me alot of a reserve opening. Pretty damn fast. Roll the nose, soft, Spectre like snivel. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Yea. And Snuffy is gonna quit posting on Rec.skydiving too. I believe you can't resist playing the troll, but if I'm wrong: "Click. Creak, Slam." Hope it didn't hit you on the ass on your way out. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

This can happen, I guess. The problem I hear about is, as Quade implied, just the opposite. You eardrums can implode. The ride to altitude, even in a fast climbing plane is actually quite slow when it comes to body cavity functions. Chewing, swallowing, sneezing, coughing, yawning, ect. Basically anything that move parts of your jaw will allow the pressure to equalize on the way to altitude. The sudden pressure changes in freefall are what do the most damage. Your body cannot equalize the pressure fast enough while falling. If the blockage is major, *poof*, no more eardrums. It's your life, live it! Very good points, Jack. I've been reading his stuff, and this thread really made me grin. Eloy and Static Line, Surfing while he lives in Phoenix, not wanting to stay in a coed bunkhouse, ect. I give him/her/it 4 1/2 stars. A good troll. Much better than I have read in years, but lacking the over-the top-ness of Nipplboy. He would have only gotten 3 stars but damn, he hooked 3/4ths or more of the regular posters in just this one thread! It's your life, live it! Dubya says he's alive, which is good enough to prove Bill's point that we shouldn't be so quick to believe the stories as they first come out. _Am I'm not saying he's dead. I'm not saying he's alive either. I'm saying we do not know now, nor did we then, if he is alive or dead, which is exactly what Bill posted as his number 1. There is nothing to believe, or not believe for that matter, with his number one. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

I find it ironic that your number one was not a stated fact. Heck, you even left it intact in that he may well have been killed. Do we honestly have solid proof that he is still alive? It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Note: I do not have a great deal of jumps, but can give a newer jumpers perspective to this. I downsized much too fast, and have since upsized a few times, but here is my thoughts. I went down through the Sabres. 210, 190, 170, and then a 150. I put a few jumps on the 150, and then was offered a gear deal that was hard to pass up. A Stiletto 120 at a great price. I bit. Before I bought the rig, I got some canopy coaching. I made a number of Stiletto 120 jumps, and found the openings to be extremely body position dependent. It showed my just how bad I was. The Sabres always opend smooth and on heading. Not so with the Stiletto. Flying the Stiletto was like going from a Cessna 182 to a King Air. No comparison. The Stiletto was much quicker in the turns, on both risers and toggles. This gave me a "twitchy" feeling. Shorter toggle stroke to produce the same turn, ect. Landings are where things got quite interesting. The Sabre is actually very forgiving of an uneven flare. It drifts a bit, but it's easy to keep "wings level". Not so with the Stiletto. My landings with the Stiletto, all of which were straight in, needed to be perfect. On a couple they were not. An inch or less difference between left and right toggles during the flare gave a pronounced drift, and required quick and smooth action to correct. A few times I wasn't quick enough, and a PLF/tuck and roll saved me from broken bones. Over an inch of difference had me going from an into the wind landing to a crosswind landing while desperately trying to keep from breaking every bone in my body. I ended up deciding the Stiletto was not for me, yet. I settled on a Sabre 135, which served me well last year. I have since gotten rid of that rig and gone up to a Sabre 150. The 150 seems dog slow compared to what I've been flying, but it's still a fun canopy, and slow is not necessarily a bad thing all the time. Oh, yea. The last time I checked, I was between 200 and 210 out the door. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Wow, all i could read, over and over in these posts were "opening in a fast track" and "BASE". These are not noted for having soft, slow openings, so all i could think of was "ouch".
