  1. It is worth it. Ibuprofin or any other anti-inflamatory to reduce the swelling. Make up a solution and gargle before swallowing. Keep doing the Popsicles, they are good. And it will be over in a day or two. Faith and post a picture.
  2. You take real care eating. I cracked a filling a couple of days after my piercing while I still had a long barbel. The danger time is when you think you've got the hang of it, just like skydiving I guess. Enjoy it, its worth the initial aggravation. I'd avoid listerine, or other alcohol based mouthwashes. Rinses of heavy concentrations of salt water kept me clean and I brush the barbel just like I brush my teeth, keeps it sweet. Rice is good. A couple of days ago for the first time in years I ate a boiled sweet. The damn thing stuck to the ball, like they can sometime stick to your teeth. Only I couldn't get my tongue round it. I was in company at work so I couldn't grab it with my fingers. Took me ages to shift the sucker! Oh, and during early days, don't let anyone apart from your piercer touch your ball. People (even loved ones) have a habit of pulling way too hard. Hope you enjoy making impact - you will, happy holiday.
  3. Hi Sunshine, Welcome to the club, if you want information try here http://www.angelfire.com/ny/februa/tonguemain.html. I found the information to be accurate for me. My tongue went down after a couple of days. But boy did I panic the first time I took the barbel out. Came out easy, but I spent about 2 hours trying to get it back in. My advice would be to get the piercer to change it for a shorter bar once the swelling has gone down and then leave it for a good few weeks before you try changing it yourself. Plus keep tightening the balls every couple of days. Saves you swallowing the loose cannon! Where I work the dress code is really strict. Earings and other piercings are out. But 1 year later and no one knows about my secret rebellion. Just don't laugh with your mouth wide open. Freaks people when I rasp the ball on my teeth. They know somethings odd, but can't figure what. A lot of people with tongue piercings lisp, but I think they put it on. After a couple of days, my speech returned to normal. Way to go girl, adds a new dimension to , but shock effect works best in small doses.
